¹⁶ He is breaking up my teeth on gravel; He makes me fare on ashes;

⁸ So he took for himself a potsherd to scrape himself with it as he was sitting in the midst of ashes.

¹⁰ There is the roaring of the lion and the voice of the black lion, Yet the teeth of the sheltered lions are broken out;"

⁷ Do arise, O Yahweh! Save me, my Elohim! For You will smite all my enemies on the cheek; You will break the teeth of the wicked.

⁶ O Elohim, demolish their teeth in their mouth; Wrench out the fangs of the sheltered lions, O Yahweh."

⁹ For I eat ashes like bread, And I blend my drink with lamentation,

¹⁷ Congenial to a man is bread gained by falsehood, Yet afterward his mouth shall be filled with gravel."

²⁶ O daughter of My people, Gird on sackcloth, and roll yourself in ashes, The mourning of an only one make for you, A lamentation most bitter, For suddenly come does the spoiler against us."

⁶ And the word is touching the king of Nineveh. And he is rising from his throne and is transferring his fur robe from him, and he is covering himself with sackcloth and is sitting on ashes."

⁹ Or what man is there among you, from whom his son will be requesting bread-no stone will he be handing him!"

¹¹ Now of some father of you a son will be requesting bread. No stone will he be handing him! Or a fish, also. Not, instead of a fish, a serpent will he be handing him!"
