¹ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying. ² To the sons of Israel you shall say, Any man of the sons of Israel and of the sojourners sojourning in Israel who should give any of his seed to Moloch shall be put to death, yea death. The people of the land shall pelt him with stones;" ³ I Myself shall set My face against that man and will cut him off from among his people (for he has given of his seed to Moloch) on account of the defilement of My sanctuary and the profanation of My holy name. ⁴ And if the people of the land should obscure, yea obscure their eyes from that man when he gives of his seed to Moloch, so as to avoid putting him to death, ⁵ then I Myself will set My face against that man and against his family and will cut off from among their people him and all those prostituting after him, to prostitute after Moloch. ⁶ As for the soul who should countenance mediums and wizards to prostitute after them, I will set My face against that soul also and cut him off from among his people. ⁷ Hence sanctify yourselves and become holy, for I, Yahweh, am your Elohim. ⁸ You will observe My statutes and keep them:I am Yahweh Who is hallowing you. ⁹ For any man who shall maledict his father or his mother shall be put to death, yea death. It is his father and his mother whom he maledicts; his blood-guilt will be on him. ¹⁰ As for a man who commits adultery with another man's wife--one who commits adultery with his associate's wife--the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death, yea death. ¹¹ As for a man who lies with his father's wife, he has exposed his father's nakedness. The two of them shall be put to death, yea death; their bloodguilt will be on them. ¹² And a man who lies with his daughter-in-law, the two of them shall be put to death, yea death. They have shown decadence; their bloodguilt will be on them. ¹³ As for a man who lies with a male as if going to bed with a woman, they do an abhorrence. The two of them shall be put to death, yea death; their bloodguilt will be on them. ¹⁴ As for a man who takes a woman and her mother, this is lewdness. With fire shall they burn him and them so that no such lewdness may come up in your midst. ¹⁵ As for a man who gives his emission to a beast, he shall be put to death, yea death, and the beast shall you kill. ¹⁶ As for a woman who approaches to any beast to copulate with it, you will kill the woman and the beast. They shall be put to death, yea death; their bloodguilt will be on them. ¹⁷ As for a man who takes his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother, and sees her nakedness, and she sees his nakedness, this is a base thing, and they will be cut off before the eyes of the sons of their people. The nakedness of his sister has he exposed; his depravity shall he bear. ¹⁸ As for a man who lies with a menstruous woman and exposes her nakedness, he causes her fountain to be naked, and she exposes the fountain of her blood-flows. Then the two of them will be cut off from among their people. ¹⁹ The nakedness of your mother's sister or your father's sister you shall not expose, for he who does so causes his kin to be naked; their depravity shall they bear. ²⁰ As for a man who lies with his aunt, the nakedness of his uncle he has exposed. Their sin shall they bear; heirless shall they die. ²¹ As for a man who takes the wife of his brother, this is impurity. The nakedness of his brother has he exposed; heirless shall they become. ²² You shall observe all My statutes and all My judgments and keep them so that the land, where I am bringing you to dwell in it, shall not vomit you out. ²³ You shall not walk by the habitual statutes of the nations which I am casting out from your presence, for they have practiced all these things, and I am irritated with them. ²⁴ Yet I said to you:You shall tenant their ground, and I Myself shall give it to you to tenant it, a land gushing with milk and honey. I, Yahweh, am your Elohim, Who separates you from the peoples. ²⁵ Hence you will make a separation between the clean beast and the unclean and between the unclean flyer and the clean; and you shall not make your souls abominable by a beast or by a flyer or by anything that moves on the ground which I have separated for you to consider it unclean. ²⁶ So you will become holy to Me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I am separating you from the peoples to become Mine. ²⁷ A man or a woman, in case there is a medium or a wizard among them, they shall be put to death, yea death. With stones shall they pelt them; their bloodguilt is on them.

⁸ To them you shall say:Any man from the house of Israel or from the sojourners who sojourn in your midst who should offer an ascent offering or a sacrifice

¹³ Any man from the sons of Israel and from the sojourners sojourning in your midst who hunt a game animal or a flyer which may be eaten will pour out its blood and cover it with soil,

¹⁵ Any soul who eats a carcass or an animal torn to pieces, whether a native or a sojourner, will rinse his garments and bathe in water and be unclean until the evening; then he will be clean.

²¹ You shall not give any of your seed to make them pass through fire to Moloch, for you shall not profane the name of your Elohim:I am Yahweh.

²⁷ A man or a woman, in case there is a medium or a wizard among them, they shall be put to death, yea death. With stones shall they pelt them; their bloodguilt is on them.

¹⁴ Bring forth the maledictor outside the camp, and all the hearers will support their hands on his head, and the whole congregation will pelt him with stones.

²³ Thus Moses spoke to the sons of Israel, and they brought forth the maledictor outside the camp and pelted him with stones. So the sons of Israel did just as Yahweh had instructed Moses.

³⁵ Yahweh said to Moses:The man shall be put to death, yea death. The whole congregation shall pelt him with stones outside the camp. ³⁶ So the whole congregation brought him forth to outside the camp and pelted him with stones, so that he died just as Yahweh had instructed Moses.

³¹ You shall not act thus toward Yahweh your Elohim, for every abhorrence which Yahweh hates they perform for their elohim, for even their sons and their daughters they burn with fire for their elohim.

¹⁰ You will stone him with stones so that he dies, for he sought to induce you away from Yahweh your Elohim, the One bringing you forth from the country of Egypt, from the house of servants. ¹¹ Thus all Israel shall hearken and fear, and they shall not again do anything like this evil thing among you.

⁵ then you must bring forth that man or that woman who did this evil thing to your gates, the man or the woman, and you will stone them with stones so that they die. ⁶ At the mouth of two witnesses or three witnesses, the one about to die shall be put to death. He shall not be put to death at the mouth of one witness. ⁷ The hands of the witnesses shall come to be the first against him to put him to death and then the hands of all the people afterward. Thus you will eradicate the evil from among you.

¹⁰ There shall not be found among you one causing his son or his daughter to pass through fire, or one divining divinations, or consulting clouds, auguring or enchantin.

²¹ Then all the men of his city will pelt him with stones so that he dies. Thus you will eradicate the evil from among you, and all Israel shall hear and fear.

¹⁷ and cause their sons and their daughters to pass over through fire, and divine divinations, and use enchantments, and sell themselves to do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, to provoke Him;"

¹⁰ And he has defiled Topheth, that [is] in the valley of the son of Hinnom, so that no man does cause his son and his daughter to pass over through fire to Molech.

³ and himself has made perfume in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burns his sons with fire according to the abominations of the nations that Yahweh dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,

⁶ And he has caused his sons to pass over through fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and observed clouds and used enchantments and witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and a wizard; he has multiplied to do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger.

³⁸ So they shed innocent blood, The blood of their sons and their daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the fetishes of Canaan, And the land was polluted with bloodshed."

⁵ Warmed with desire among elim under every flourishing tree, slayers of boys in the watercourses under forks of the crags, ⁶ among slick stones of the watercourse is your portion. They, they are your lot moreover, to them you pour out a libation; you bring up an approach present. Over these shall I regret?

³¹ And have built the high places of Tophet, That [are] in the valley of the son of Hinnom, To burn their sons and their daughters with fire, Which I did not command, Nor did it come up on My heart."

³⁵ And they build the high places of Baal, that [are] in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through to Molech, which I did not command them, nor did it come up on my heart to do this abomination, so as to cause Judah to sin."

²⁰ And you do take your sons and your daughters Whom you have born to Me, And do sacrifice them to them for food. Is it a little thing because of your whoredoms, ²¹ That you do slaughter My sons, And do give them up in causing them to pass over to them?

²⁶ And I defile them by their own gifts, By causing to pass away every opener of a womb, So that I make them desolate, So that they know that I [am] Yahweh."

³¹ And in the offering of your gifts, In causing your sons to pass through fire, You are defiled by all your idols to this day, And I am sought by you, O house of Israel! I live--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, I am not sought by you."

³⁷ For they have committed adultery, And blood [is] in their hands, With their idols they committed adultery, And also their sons whom they bore to Me, They caused to pass over to them for food."

³⁹ And in their slaughtering their sons to their idols They also come in unto My sanctuary in that day to pollute it, And lo, thus they have done in the midst of My house,

⁴³ And you took up the tabernacle of Moloch and the constellation of your god Raiphan, the models which you make, to worship them. 'And I shall be exiling you beyond Babylon."

⁵⁸ And, casting him out, outside of the city, they pelted him with stones. And the witnesses put off their garments at the feet of a young man called Saul." ⁵⁹ And they pelted Stephen with stones, while he is invoking and saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!"

³¹ You will warn the sons of Israel against their uncleanness so that they may not die in their uncleanness when they defile My tabernacle which is in their midst.

¹⁰ As for any man from the house of Israel and from the sojourners sojourning in your midst who should eat any blood, I will set My face against the soul eating blood, and I will cut him off from among his people,

²⁰ If anyone who is unclean does not purify himself from sin, then that soul will be cut off from the midst of the assembly, for the sanctuary of Yahweh has he defiled; water of impurity was not sprinkled on him, he is unclean.

¹¹ Therefore, I live--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh:Because My sanctuary you have defiled, With all your detestable things, And with all your abominations, Mine eye pities not, and I also spare not. Do not even I also diminish?

³⁹ And you, O house of Israel, thus said the Lord Yahweh:Each his idols--go--serve you, And, afterwards, if you are not hearkening to me, And My holy name you do not pollute any more by your gifts, and by your idols."

³⁸ Again, this they have done to Me, They defiled My sanctuary in that day, And My sabbaths they have polluted." ³⁹ And in their slaughtering their sons to their idols They also come in unto My sanctuary in that day to pollute it, And lo, thus they have done in the midst of My house,

¹⁶ Now what concurrence has a temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God, according as God said, that I will be making My home and will be walking in them, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people."

¹² For the eyes of the Lord are on the just And His ears are for their petition, Yet the face of the Lord is on evil doers."

⁸ neither shall you comply with him, nor shall you hearken to him; neither shall your eye commiserate over him, nor shall you spare him; and you shall not cover up for him.

² In case there should be found among you, within one of your gates which Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you, a man or a woman who does evil in the eyes of Yahweh your Elohim so as to trespass against His covenant, ³ and he goes and serves other elohim and bows himself down to them or to the sun or to the moon or to any of the host of the heavens, something that I have instructed not to do, ⁴ and it has been told to you and you have heard it, then you will inquire diligently. And behold, if the truth of the matter is established that this abhorrence was done in Israel, ⁵ then you must bring forth that man or that woman who did this evil thing to your gates, the man or the woman, and you will stone them with stones so that they die.

¹² and the sons of Israel have not been able to stand before their enemies; the neck they turn before their enemies, for they have become a devoted thing; I add not to be with you--if you destroy not the devoted thing out of your midst.

¹³ and I have declared to him that I am judging his house--to the eon, for the iniquity which he has known, for his sons are making themselves vile, and he has not restrained them, ¹⁴ and therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli:the iniquity of the house of Eli is not atoned for, by sacrifice, and by offering--unto the eon..

⁴² and he said unto him, `Thus said Yahweh, Because you have sent away the man I devoted, out of [your] hand, even your life has been for his life, and your people for his people;.

³⁰ Indeed, then, condoning the times of ignorance, God is now charging mankind that all everywhere are to repent,

¹⁴ But I have a few things against you, that you have there those holding the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a snare before the sons of Israel, to be eating idol sacrifices, and to commit prostitution."

⁵ You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor be made to serve them, for I, Yahweh your Elohim, am a jealous El, visiting the depravity of the fathers on the sons, on the third and on the fourth generation, to those hating Me,

⁷ No longer shall they sacrifice their sacrifices to hairy goat-demons after whom they have been prostituting. An eonian statute shall this become for them throughout their generations.

³⁹ Thus they defiled themselves by their deeds, And they prostituted themselves by their actions."

² Lift your eyes to the high places, and see, Where have you not been lain with? On the ways you have sat for them, As an Arab in a wilderness, And you defile the land, By your fornications, and by your wickedness."

²⁸ `Therefore, thus said Yahweh, Lo, I am giving this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he has captured it;" <sup>29</sup> And come in have the Chaldeans who are fighting against this city, and they have set this city on fire, and have burned it, and the houses on whose roofs they made perfume to Baal, and poured out libations to other elohims, so as to provoke Me to anger." <sup>30</sup> For the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah have been only doing evil in Mine eyes, from their youth; for the sons of Israel are only provoking Me with the work of their hands--an affirmation of Yahweh." <sup>31</sup> `For a cause of Mine anger, and a cause of My fury, has this city been to Me, even from the day that they built it, and unto this day--to turn it aside from before My face, ³² Because of all the evil of the sons of Israel, and of the sons of Judah that they have done, so as to provoke Me--they, their kings, their heads, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem." ³³ And they turn unto Me the neck, and not the face, and teaching them, rising early and teaching, and they are not hearkening to accept instruction." ³⁴ `And they set their abominations in the house over which My name is called, so as to defile it;" ³⁵ And they build the high places of Baal, that [are] in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through to Molech, which I did not command them, nor did it come up on my heart to do this abomination, so as to cause Judah to sin."

³⁹ and I have given to them one heart, and one way, to fear Me all the days, for good to them, and to their sons after them:"

⁵ For their mother committed prostitution; she who was pregnant with them caused shame. For she had said, I am going after my lovers, who are giving me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, my oil and my drinks."

¹³ And I visit on her the days of the Baals, in which she was fuming incense to them and ornamenting herself with her pendant and her eardrop, and she is going after her lovers, and she forgot Me, (averring is Yahweh)."

¹⁵ lest you contract a covenant with the dweller of the land when they prostitute after their elohim and sacrifice to their elohim lest one call to you that you eat of his sacrifice. ¹⁶ If you would take of his daughters for your sons and give your daughters to their sons, then his daughters would prostitute after their elohim and cause your sons to prostitute after their elohim.

²⁶ You shall not eat on the mountains. You shall not augur nor consult clouds.

³¹ Do not countenance mediums and wizards; do not seek them out to be defiled by them:I, Yahweh am your Elohim.

³⁹ You will come to have a tassel so that you will see it, remember all the instructions of Yahweh and observe them and not explore after your heart and after your eyes after which you are prostituting;"

¹⁰ There shall not be found among you one causing his son or his daughter to pass through fire, or one divining divinations, or consulting clouds, auguring or enchantin. ¹¹ or charming with charms, one asking of a medium or wizard or inquiring after the dead. ¹² For anyone doing these things is an abhorrence to Yahweh your Elohim, and owing to these abhorrences Yahweh your Elohim is evicting them from your presence. ¹³ Flawless shall you come to be with Yahweh your Elohim. ¹⁴ For these nations in whose place you are tenanting, they hearken to cloud consulters and diviners. As for you, Yahweh your Elohim does not allow you to do so.

¹³ And Saul dies because of his trespass that he trespassed against Yahweh, against the word of Yahweh that he kept not, and also for asking at a familiar spirit--to inquire, -. ¹⁴ and he inquired not at Yahweh, and He puts him to death, and turns round the kingdom to David son of Jesse.

²⁷ For behold, those who are far from You, they shall perish; You will efface all who prostitute away from You."

¹⁹ And in case they shall say to you, "Inquire of the mediums, and of the ventriloquists, and of the wizards, the chirpers and the cooers,Should not a people of its Elohim inquire? Who inquires about the living of the dead?

⁹ And remembered Me have your escaped among nations, Whither they have been taken captive, Because I have been broken with their heart that is going a-whoring, That has turned aside from off Me, And with their eyes they are going a-whoring after their idols, And they have been loathsome in their own faces, For the evils that they have done--all their abominations."

¹² My people at their wood are asking, and their stick is telling them, for the spirit of prostitution leads them astray, and they are committing prostitution away from under their Elohim."

⁴⁴ For I, Yahweh, am your Elohim, so you will sanctify yourselves and become holy, for I am holy. Hence you shall not defile your souls with any swarmer moving on the land.

² Speak to the whole congregation of the sons of Israel and say to them:Holy shall you become, for I am holy, Yahweh your Elohim.

⁴ according as He chooses us in Him before the disruption of the world, we to be holy and flawless in His sight,

¹² So that, my beloved, according as you always obey, not as in my presence only, but now much rather in my absence, with fear and trembling, be carrying your own salvation into effect, ¹³ for it is God Who is operating in you to will as well as to work for the sake of His delight.

¹² Put on, then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, pitiful compassions, kindness, humility, meekness, patience,

³ For this is the will of God: your holiness. You are to be abstaining from all prostitution;

⁷ for God calls us, not for uncleanness, but in holiness."

¹⁴ Pursue peace with all, and holiness, apart from which no one shall be seeing the Lord;"

¹⁵ but, according as He Who calls you is holy, you also become holy in all behavior, ¹⁶ because it is written that, Holy shall you be, for I am holy."

¹³ Now you, speak to the sons of Israel saying, Surely, My sabbaths shall you keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations to know that I, Yahweh, am hallowing you.

⁴ My judgments shall you keep, and My statutes shall you observe to walk by them:I, Yahweh, am your Elohim. ⁵ You will observe My statutes and My judgments, for the human who does them will also live by them:I am Yahweh.

³⁷ Hence you will observe all My statutes and all My judgments and do them:I am Yahweh.

⁸ You will regard him as holy, for he is bringing near the bread of your Elohim. He shall become holy to you, for I am holy, Yahweh Who is hallowing you.

¹² And also My sabbaths I have given to them, To be for a sign between Me and them, To know that I [am] Yahweh their sanctifier."

²⁸ And known have the nations that I Yahweh am sanctifying Israel, In My sanctuary being in their midst--to the eon!'"

¹⁹ Whosoever, then, should be annulling one of the least of these precepts, and should be teaching men thus, the least in the kingdom of the heavens shall he be called. Yet whoever should be doing and teaching them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of the heavens.

²⁴ Everyone, then, who is hearing these sayings of Mine and is doing them shall be likened to a prudent man who builds his house on the rock."

⁵⁰ For anyone whoever should be doing the will of My Father Who is in the heavens, he is My brother and sister and mother!"

¹⁷ If you are aware of these things, happy are you if you should be doing them!"

³⁰ Yet you, of Him, are in Christ Jesus, Who became to us wisdom from God, besides righteousness and holiness and deliverance,

²³ Now may the God of peace Himself be hallowing you wholly; and may your unimpaired spirit and soul and body be kept blameless in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ!

¹³ Now we ought to be thanking God always concerning you, brethren, beloved by the Lord, seeing that God prefers you from the beginning for salvation, in holiness of the spirit and faith in the truth,

²² Now become doers of the word, and not only listeners, beguiling yourselves."

¹⁴ Happy are those who are rinsing their robes, that it will be their license to the log of life, and they may be entering the portals into the city."

¹⁷ The one maledicting his father or his mother shall be put to death, yea death.

¹¹ As for a man who lies with his father's wife, he has exposed his father's nakedness. The two of them shall be put to death, yea death; their bloodguilt will be on them. ¹² And a man who lies with his daughter-in-law, the two of them shall be put to death, yea death. They have shown decadence; their bloodguilt will be on them. ¹³ As for a man who lies with a male as if going to bed with a woman, they do an abhorrence. ¹⁶ As for a woman who approaches to any beast to copulate with it, you will kill the woman and the beast. They shall be put to death, yea death; their bloodguilt will be on them.

¹⁶ Cursed be the one dishonoring his father or his mother. Then all the people shall say:Amen!

¹⁹ and it has been, any one who goes out from the doors of your house without, his blood [is] on his head, and we are innocent; and any one who is with you in the house, his blood [is] on our head, if a hand is on him;"

²⁴ for the coming in of the violence [to] the seventy sons of Jerubbaal, and of their blood to place [it] on Abimelech their brother, who slew them, and on the masters of Shechem, who strengthened his hands to slay his brethren.

¹⁶ and David said unto him, `Your blood [is] on your own head, for your mouth has testified against you, saying, I--I put to death the anointed of Yahweh..

³² and Yahweh has turned back his blood on his own head, who has fallen on two men more righteous and better than he, and slays them with the sword, --and my father David knew not--Abner son of Ner, head of the host of Israel, and Amasa son of Jether, head of the host of Judah;"

²⁰ He who maledicts his father and his mother, His lamp shall be extinguished at the approach of darkness."

¹¹ There is a breed of men that maledict their father And do not bless even their mother;

¹⁷ The eye that derides a father And despises the homage due a mother--The ravens of the watercourse shall pick it out, And the vultures shall eat it."

⁴ For God said, 'Honor father and mother,' and, 'He who is saying aught that is evil of father or mother, let him decease in death.'"

²⁵ And, answering, the entire people said, "His blood be on us and on our children!"

¹⁰ For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, He who is saying aught that is evil of father or mother, let him decease in death."

¹⁴ You shall not commit adultery.

²⁰ And to the wife of your companion you shall not give your emission of semen, to be unclean with her.

¹⁸ You shall not commit adultery.

²² In case a man should be found lying with a woman possessed by a possessor, then they must die, indeed both of them, the man who was lying with the woman and the woman. Thus you will eradicate the evil from Israel. ²³ In case there should be a maiden, a virgin, who is betrothed to a man, and another man finds her in the city, and he lies with her, ²⁴ then you must bring forth both of them to the gate of that city and stone them with stones so that they die, the maiden on the score that she did not cry for help in the city, and the man on the score that he humiliated the wife of his associate. Thus you will eradicate the evil from among you.

¹³ And David said unto Nathan, `I have sinned against Yahweh.' And Nathan said unto David, `Also--Yahweh has caused your sin to pass away; you do not die;"

⁴⁵ As to righteous men, they judge them with the judgment of adulteresses, And the judgment of women shedding blood, For they [are] adulteresses, And blood [is] in their hands." ⁴⁶ For thus said the Lord Yahweh:Bring up against them an assembly, And give them to trembling and to spoiling." ⁴⁷ And they have cast at them the stone of the assembly, And cut them with their swords, Their sons and their daughters they do slay, And their houses with fire they burn."

⁴ they are saying to Him, "Teacher, this woman has been overtaken and detected committing adultery." ⁵ Now in the law, Moses directs us that such are to be stoned. You, then, what are you saying?

⁷ The nakedness of your father and the nakedness of your mother you shall not expose. She is your mother; you shall not expose her nakedness. ⁸ The nakedness of your father's wife you shall not expose. It is the nakedness of your father.

²⁰ Cursed be the one lying with the wife of his father, for he exposes his father's hem. Then all the people will say:Amen!"

²³ Cursed be the one lying with his sister-in-law. Then all the people will say:Amen!

⁷ They are gasping to have the soil of the earth on the head of the poor, and the way of the humble are they turning aside, yet a man and his father are going to the same maiden, that they may violate the holy name of their Elohim."

¹ Absolutely, it is heard that there is prostitution among you, and such prostitution (which is not even named among the nations), so that someone has his father's wife."

¹⁶ And aside is he turning to her by the way, and is saying to her, "Prithee, pray, coming am I to you,for not know does he that she is his daughter-in-law. And saying is she, "What will you give to me that you shall come to me?

¹⁸ And saying is he, "What is the surety which I shall give to you?And saying is she, "Your seal and your twist and your staff which is in your hand.And giving them is he to her, and is coming to her, and pregnant is she by him.

¹⁵ The nakedness of your daughter-in-law you shall not expose. She is the wife of your son; you shall not expose her nakedness.

²³ You shall not give your emission to any beast to be unclean with it. And a woman shall not stand before a beast to copulate with it. This is decadence.

⁵ And calling are they to Lot, and saying to him, "Where are the mortals who came to you tonight? Bring them forth to us, and we will know them.

²² With a male you shall not lie as if going to bed with a woman. This is an abhorrence.

¹⁷ There shall come to be neither a cult-prostitute from the daughters of Israel, nor shall there come to be a cult-prostitute from the sons of Israel.

²² They are making their heart glad, and lo, men of the city, men--sons of worthlessness--have gone round about the house, beating on the door, and they speak unto the old man, the master of the house, saying, `Bring out the man who has come unto your house, and we know him..

²⁶ Therefore God gives them over to dishonorable passions. For their females, besides, alter the natural use into that which is beside nature." ²⁷ Likewise also the males, besides, leaving the natural use of the female, were inflamed in their craving for one another, males with males effecting indecency, and getting back in themselves the retribution of their deception which must be."

⁹ Or are you not aware that the unjust shall not be enjoying the allotment of God's kingdom? Be not deceived. Neither paramours, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor catamites, nor sodomites,

¹⁰ paramours, sodomites, kidnapers, liars, perjurers, and if any other thing is opposing sound teaching,

⁷ As Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them in like manner to these committing ultra-prostitution, and coming away after other flesh, are lying before us, a specimen, experiencing the justice of fire eonian."

¹⁷ The nakedness of both a woman and her daughter you shall not expose. Her son's daughter and her daughter's daughter you shall not take to expose her nakedness. They are kin. This is lewdness.

⁹ In case the daughter of a priestly man should profane herself by prostitution, she is profaning her father; with fire shall she be burned.

¹⁵ and it has been, he who is captured with the devoted thing is burnt with fire, he and all that he has, because he has transgressed the covenant of Yahweh, and because he has done folly in Israel..

²⁵ And Joshua said, `What! you have troubled us! --Yahweh does trouble you this day;' and all Israel cast stones at him, and they burn them with fire, and they stone them with stones,

¹⁹ Anyone lying with a beast shall be put to death, yea death.

²¹ Cursed be the one lying with any beast. Then all the people will say:Amen!

¹³ No hand shall touch him, for he shall be stoned, yea stoned or shot, yea shot; whether beast or man, he shall not live. When the alarm horn draws forth, they may ascend onto the mountain.

²⁸ When a bull gores a man or a woman and he dies, the bull shall be stoned, yea stoned, and its flesh shall not be eaten, yet the possessor of the bull shall be held innocent.

³² If the bull gores a servant or a maidservant, thirty shekels of silver shall he give to his lord, and the bull, it shall be stoned.

²⁰ For they did not carry out the assignment: And if a wild beast should come in contact with the mountain, it shall be pelted with stones."

¹² And, moreover, truly, my sister is she, the daughter of my father is she, yea, but not the daughter of my mother, and she becomes my wife.

⁹ The nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father or the daughter of your mother, begotten at home or begotten outside, you shall not expose their nakedness.

²² Cursed be the one lying with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother. Then all the people will say:Amen!"

¹² And she said to him, `Nay, my brother, do not humble me, for it is not done so in Israel; do not this folly.

¹¹ And each with the wife of his neighbor has done abomination, And each his daughter-in-law has defiled through wickedness, And each his sister, his father's daughter, has humbled in you."

²⁴ If a man should lie, yea lie with her, and her period should come on him, then he will be unclean seven days; and any bedding on which he has lain is unclean.

¹⁹ To a woman in the period of her uncleanness you shall not approach to expose her nakedness.

⁶ On the mountains he has not eaten, And his eyes he has not lifted up Unto idols of the house of Israel, And the wife of his neighbor defiled not, And to a separated woman comes not near,

¹⁰ The nakedness of a father has one uncovered in you, The defiled of impurity they humbled in you."

²⁰ Amram took Jochebed, his aunt, as his wife; and she bore for him Aaron, Moses and Miriam, their sister. And the years of the life of Amram were a hundred thirty-seven years.

⁶ Not any one of you shall come near any kin of his flesh to expose their nakedness:I am Yahweh.

¹² The nakedness of your father's sister you shall not expose, for she is kin of your father. ¹³ The nakedness of your mother's sister you shall not expose, for she is the kin of your mother. ¹⁴ The nakedness of your father's brother you shall not expose; that is, to his wife you shall not approach; she is your aunt. ¹⁵ The nakedness of your daughter-in-law you shall not expose. She is the wife of your son; you shall not expose her nakedness. ¹⁶ The nakedness of your brother's wife you shall not expose. She is the nakedness of your brother. ¹⁷ The nakedness of both a woman and her daughter you shall not expose. Her son's daughter and her daughter's daughter you shall not take to expose her nakedness. They are kin. This is lewdness. ¹⁸ And you shall not take a wife in addition to her sister to distress her, by exposing her nakedness to her in her life time. ¹⁹ To a woman in the period of her uncleanness you shall not approach to expose her nakedness. ²⁰ And to the wife of your companion you shall not give your emission of semen, to be unclean with her. ²¹ You shall not give any of your seed to make them pass through fire to Moloch, for you shall not profane the name of your Elohim:I am Yahweh. ²² With a male you shall not lie as if going to bed with a woman. This is an abhorrence. ²³ You shall not give your emission to any beast to be unclean with it. And a woman shall not stand before a beast to copulate with it. This is decadence. ²⁴ Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways. For in all of these the nations which I am dismissing before your face are defiled. ²⁵ Since the land is unclean I shall visit its depravity on it, and the land shall vomit out its dwellers. ²⁶ As for you, you will observe My statutes and My judgments, and not do any of these abhorrences, either the native or the sojourner sojourning in your mids. ²⁷ (for the men of the land who were before you have done all these abhorrences, and the land is unclean), ²⁸ so that the land shall not vomit you out when you defile it, just as it vomited out the nations which were before you. ²⁹ For anyone who shall do any of these abhorrences, the souls doing them will be cut off from among their people. ³⁰ Hence you will keep My charge by no means to do any of the abhorrent habitual statutes which were practiced before you so that you may not defile yourselves by them:I, Yahweh, am your Elohim.

¹⁴ The nakedness of your father's brother you shall not expose; that is, to his wife you shall not approach; she is your aunt.

¹⁹ For him there is no posterity and no progeny among his people, And there will be no survivor in the places of his sojourning.

¹³ May his posterity be cut off; In the generation following, may his name be wiped out."

³⁰ Thus said Yahweh:Write you this man childless, A man--he does not prosper in his days, For none of his seed does prosper, Sitting on the throne of David, And ruling again in Judah!"

⁷ And no child was theirs, forasmuch as Elizabeth was barren, and both were advanced in their days."

²⁵ And she kept herself close five months, saying that "Thus has the Lord done to me, in the days in which He took notice to eliminate my reproach among men."

²⁹ for lo! coming are days in which they will be declaring, 'Happy are the barren, and the wombs which bear not, and the breasts which do not nourish!'"

¹⁶ The nakedness of your brother's wife you shall not expose. She is the nakedness of your brother.

³ For Herod then, holding John, binds and puts him away in jail also, because of Herodias, the wife of Philip, his brother, ⁴ for John said to him, "It is not allowed you to have her."

¹ Now these are the judgments which you shall place before them.

²⁵ Since the land is unclean I shall visit its depravity on it, and the land shall vomit out its dwellers. ²⁶ As for you, you will observe My statutes and My judgments, and not do any of these abhorrences, either the native or the sojourner sojourning in your mids. ²⁷ (for the men of the land who were before you have done all these abhorrences, and the land is unclean), ²⁸ so that the land shall not vomit you out when you defile it, just as it vomited out the nations which were before you.

³³ And you I shall winnow among the nations, and I will unsheathe a sword after you so that your land will become a desolation and your cities become a desert.

⁴⁵ These are the testimonies and the statutes and the judgments that Moses pronounced to the sons of Israel when they had come forth from Egypt,

¹ Moses called to all Israel and said to them:Hear, Israel, the statutes and the judgments that I am speaking in your ears today, that you learn them and observe to obey them.

²⁵ Yahweh shall make you to be struck down before your enemies. By a single road shall you go forth to them, and by seven roads shall you flee before them. So you will become an object of commotion to all the kingdoms of the earth. ²⁶ Your carcass will become food for every flyer of the heavens and for the beast of the earth, and there will be no one causing them to tremble.

⁸ The precepts of Yahweh are upright, rejoicing the heart; The instruction of Yahweh is pure, enlightening the eyes;" ⁹ The fear of Yahweh is clean, standing unto the future; The judgments of Yahweh are truth; they are righteous altogether:" ¹⁰ Coveted more than gold, and more than much glittering gold, And sweeter than honey and drips of the combs." ¹¹ Moreover, Your servant is being warned by them; In the keeping of them is a great consequence."

⁴⁵ In order that they should keep His statutes And should preserve His laws. Praise Yah!

²⁰ My soul is broken up by an ardent desire For Your ordinances in every season.

⁸⁰ May my heart become flawless in Your statutes, That I may not be ashamed."

¹⁰⁶ I have sworn-- let me confirm it-- To keep Your righteous ordinances.

¹⁴⁵ I call out with all my heart; answer me, O Yahweh; I will preserve Your statutes."

¹⁶⁰ The sum of Your word is truth, And all of Your righteous ordinances are eonian."

¹⁶⁴ Seven times in a day I praise You For Your righteous ordinances.

¹⁷¹ May my lips utter praise, For You teach me Your statutes."

¹⁷⁵ May my soul live and praise You, And may Your ordinances help me."

⁸ Indeed, in the path of Your judgments, Yahweh, we expect You. To Your name and to Your law is the yearning of our soul." ⁹ With my soul I yearn for You in the night. Indeed, with my spirit within me I will seek You early. For as a light are Your judgments to the earth, the dwellers of the habitance learn righteousness."

²⁷ And My Spirit I give in your midst, And I have done this, so that in My statutes you walk, And My judgments you keep, and have done them."

³ According to the deeds of the land of Egypt in which you dwelt, you shall not behave. And according to the deeds of the land of Canaan where I am bringing you, you shall not behave; and by their statutes you shall not walk.

²⁴ Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways. For in all of these the nations which I am dismissing before your face are defiled.

²⁷ (for the men of the land who were before you have done all these abhorrences, and the land is unclean),

³⁰ Hence you will keep My charge by no means to do any of the abhorrent habitual statutes which were practiced before you so that you may not defile yourselves by them:I, Yahweh, am your Elohim.

⁵ It is not because of your own righteousness or the uprightness of your own heart that you are entering to tenant their country, for it is because of the wickedness of these nations that Yahweh your Elohim is evicting them before your face, so that He may confirm the word that Yahweh had sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob.

³⁰ Guard yourself lest you should be trapped to go after them after they are exterminated before your face, and lest you inquire about their elohim, saying:How do these nations serve their elohim that I, I too, may do thus? ³¹ You shall not act thus toward Yahweh your Elohim, for every abhorrence which Yahweh hates they perform for their elohim, for even their sons and their daughters they burn with fire for their elohim.

⁵⁹ Elohim heard, and He was enraged, And He utterly rejected Israel."

¹ Hear you the word, O house of Israel, That Yahweh has spoken for you." ² Thus said Yahweh:Unto the way of the nations accustom not yourselves, And by the signs of the heavens be not affrighted, For the nations are affrighted by them."

⁸ And I am suppressing three shepherds in one month. Yet my soul is impatient with them; and, moreover, their soul is nauseated with me."

⁸ Hence I have descended to rescue them from the hand of Egypt and to bring them up from that land to a land good and wide, to a land gushing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Girgashite, the Hivite and the Jebusite.

¹⁷ Hence I am saying that I shall bring you up from the humiliation of Egypt to the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Girgashite, the Hivite and the Jebusite, to a land gushing with milk and honey.

⁸ I will bring you to the land which I lifted up My hand in swearing to give it to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a tenancy. I am Yahweh.

⁵ It will come to be when Yahweh your Elohim shall have brought you to the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Girgashite, the Hivite and the Jebusite about which He swore to your fathers to give to you, a land gushing with milk and honey, then you will serve with this service in this month.

⁵ Now, if you shall hearken, yea hearken to My voice and observe My covenant then you will become Mine, a special possession, above all the peoples, for Mine is all the earth. ⁶ As for you, you shall become Mine, a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak to the sons of Israel.

³ And I shall bring you into a land gushing with milk and honey. For I shall not go up among you, for you are a stiff-necked people, lest I should finish you on the way.

¹⁶ Whereby shall it be known, indeed, that I find grace in Your eyes, I and Your people? Is it not by Your going with us that we may be distinguished, I and Your people, from all the peoples who are on the surface of the ground?

²⁶ So you will become holy to Me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I am separating you from the peoples to become Mine.

⁹ For from the summit of the rocks I am seeing him, and from the hills I am regarding him. Behold, the people is tabernacling by itself alone, and among the nations it is not reckoning itself.

⁶ For you are a people holy to Yahweh your Elohim; Yahweh your Elohim has chosen you to become His, a special people from all the peoples who are on the surface of the ground.

² for you are a people holy to Yahweh your Elohim, and Yahweh your Elohim chose you to belong to Him as a special people above all the peoples who are on the surface of the ground.

⁵³ for You have separated them to Yourself for an inheritance, out of all the peoples of the earth, as You did speak by the hand of Moses Your servant, in Your bringing out our fathers from Egypt, O Lord Yahweh..

¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would be fond of its own. Now, seeing that you are not of the world, but I choose you out of the world, therefore the world is hating you."

¹⁷ Wherefore, Come out of their midst and be severed, the Lord is saying. And touch not the unclean, and I will admit you,

⁹ Yet you are a chosen race, a "royal priesthood,a "holy nation,a procured people, so that you should be recounting the virtues of Him Who calls you out of darkness into His marvelous light,

¹ Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying to them. ² Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, These are the animals which you may eat of all the beasts which are on the land. ³ Every one bisecting the hoof and cleaving the cleft of the hooves and bringing up the cud among beasts, you may eat it. ⁴ Only this is what you may not eat of those bringing up the cud or bisecting the hoof:the camel (for it is bringing up the cud yet is not bisecting the hoof; it is unclean for you), ⁵ the coney, (for it is bringing up the cud yet is not bisecting the hoof; it is unclean for you), ⁶ the hare, (for it is bringing up the cud yet does not bisect the hoof; it is unclean for you), ⁷ and the boar, (for it is bisecting the hoof and is cleaving the cleft of the hoof, yet it is not stirring up the cud; it is unclean for you). ⁸ Of their flesh you may not eat, and their carcass you may not touch; they are unclean for you. ⁹ This is what you may eat of all those which are in the waters:all that have fins and scales in the waters, in the seas and in the watercourses, you may eat them. ¹⁰ Yet all that have no fins or scales in the waters, in the seas and in the watercourses of every swarmer of the waters, of any living soul which is in the waters, they are an abomination to you. ¹¹ Since they shall come to be an abomination for you, you may not eat of their flesh, and you shall regard their carcass as abominable. ¹² All that has no fins or scales in the waters, it is an abomination to you. ¹³ These you shall regard as abominable among the flyers; they shall not be eaten; they are an abomination:the vulture, the bearded vulture and the eagle, ¹⁴ the black kite and the falcon, all of its kind, ¹⁵ every raven, all of its kind, ¹⁶ the ostrich, the screech owl, the gull and the hawk, all of its kind, ¹⁷ the little owl, the cormorant and the eagle owl, ¹⁸ the ibis, the pelican and the Egyptian vulture, ¹⁹ the stork, the heron, all of its kind, the hoopoe and the bat. ²⁰ Every swarmer of the flyers going on all fours, it is an abomination to you. ²¹ Only this one you may eat of every swarmer of the flyers, the one going on all fours which has shanks above its feet to hop with them on the land. ²² These of them may you eat:the locust, all of its kind, the bald locust, all of its kind, the cricket, all of its kind, and the grasshopper, all of its kind. ²³ Yet every other swarmer of the flyers which has four feet, it is an abomination to you. ²⁴ Also you are defiling yourselves with these:(Everyone touching their carcass shall be unclean until the evening; ²⁵ everyone carrying some of their carcass shall rinse his garments and will be unclean until the evening.) ²⁶ As for every beast which is bisecting the hoof, yet the cleft it is not cleaving, and the cud it is not bringing up:they are unclean to you. Everyone touching them shall be unclean. ²⁷ And everything going on its soles among all the animals going on all fours, they are unclean to you. Everyone touching their carcass shall be unclean until the evening;" ²⁸ and the one carrying their carcass shall rinse his garments and will be unclean until the evening. They are unclean to you. ²⁹ This is unclean to you among the swarmers swarming on the land:the weasel, the rodent and the great lizard, all of its kind, ³⁰ the gecko, the monitor, the lizard, the sand lizard and the chameleon. ³¹ These are unclean to you among all the swarmers. Everyone touching them in their death shall be unclean until the evening. ³² And everything on which any of them should fall in their death shall be unclean; from every article of wood or garment or leather or sackcloth, to every article in which work is done, into water shall it be brought, and it will be unclean until the evening; then it will be clean. ³³ Yet every earthenware vessel into the midst of which any of them should fall, all that is in its midst shall be unclean, and you shall break it. ³⁴ Any food which may otherwise be eaten on which such water should come shall be unclean; and any drink which may otherwise be drunk in any such vessel shall be unclean. ³⁵ Also everything on which some of their carcass should fall shall be unclean; a stove or an oven shall be broken down. They are unclean; they shall become unclean to you. ³⁶ Only a spring or cistern, a confluence of water, shall remain clean. Yet the one touching their carcass shall be unclean. ³⁷ In case anything from their carcass should fall on any sowing seed which was sown, it shall be clean;" ³⁸ yet in case water was put on the seed and anything from their carcass fell on it, it shall be unclean to you. ³⁹ In case any of the beasts which is yours for food dies, the one touching any of its carcass shall be unclean until the evening. ⁴⁰ And the one eating any of its carcass shall rinse his garments and will be unclean until the evening. Also the one carrying any of its carcass shall rinse his garments and will be unclean until the evening. ⁴¹ Any swarmer swarming on the land, it is an abomination; it shall not be eaten. ⁴² All going on the torso and all going on all fours, even all on many pairs of feet of any swarmer swarming on the land, you may not eat them, for they are an abomination. ⁴³ Do not make your souls abominable with any swarming swarmer, nor shall you defile yourselves with them, or you will be unclean by them. ⁴⁴ For I, Yahweh, am your Elohim, so you will sanctify yourselves and become holy, for I am holy. Hence you shall not defile your souls with any swarmer moving on the land. ⁴⁵ For I, Yahweh, am the One bringing you up from the land of Egypt, to be your Elohim; so become holy, for I am holy. ⁴⁶ This is the law about the beast, the flyer and every living soul moving in the water and about every soul swarming on the land, ⁴⁷ to differentiate between the unclean and the clean, between the animal which may be eaten and the animal which may not be eaten.

³ You shall not eat anything abhorrent. ⁴ This is the beast that you may eat:the bull, the flockling of the sheep and the flockling of the goats;" ⁵ the stag, the gazelle, the bubale, the wild goat, the addax, the antelope and the mountain sheep. ⁶ And any other beast bisecting the hoof, cleaving the cleft into two hooves and bringing up the cud, among beasts, it you may eat. ⁷ Only this you may not eat of those bringing up the cud and of those bisecting the cloven hoof:the camel, the hare and the coney, for they are bringing up the cud yet do not bisect the hoof; they are unclean to you;" ⁸ and the swine, for it is bisecting the hoof and cleaving the cleft of the hoof, yet it is not stirring up the cud; it is unclean to you. From their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcass you shall not touch. ⁹ This may you eat of all that is in the waters:anything which has fins and scales you may eat. ¹⁰ Yet anything which has no fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean to you. ¹¹ Any clean bird you may eat; ¹² yet these are those of which you shall not eat:the vulture, the bearded vulture and the eagle, ¹³ the black kite and the falcon, all of its kind, ¹⁴ and every raven, all of its kind, ¹⁵ the ostrich, the screech owl, the gull and the hawk, all of its kind, ¹⁶ the little owl, the eagle owl and the ibis, ¹⁷ the pelican, the Egyptian vulture and the cormorant, ¹⁸ the stork and the heron, all of its kind, the hoopoe and the bat. ¹⁹ Every swarmer of the flyers, it is unclean to you. They shall not be eaten. ²⁰ Every clean flyer you may eat. ²¹ You shall not eat any carcass. You may give it to the sojourner who is within your gates so that he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner, for you are a people holy to Yahweh your Elohim. You shall not cook a kid in the milk of its mother.

¹¹ and he is beholding heaven open and a certain utensil descending, as a large sheet, with four edges, being let down on the earth, ¹² in which belonged all the quadrupeds and reptiles of the earth and the flying creatures of heaven. ¹³ And a voice came to him, "Rise, Peter! Sacrifice and eat!" ¹⁴ Yet Peter said, "Far be it from me, Lord, for I never ate anything contaminating and unclean!" ¹⁵ And again, a second time, a voice came to him, "What God cleanses, do not you count contaminating!"

²⁸ Besides, he averred to them, "You are versed in the fact how illicit it is for a man who is a Jew to join or come to another tribe, and God shows me not to say that any man is contaminating or unclean."

⁷ Do not, then, become joint partakers with them, ⁸ for you were once darkness, yet now you are light in the Lord." ⁹ As children of light be walking (for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth), ¹⁰ testing what is well pleasing to the Lord. ¹¹ And be not joint participants in the unfruitful acts of darkness, yet rather be exposing them also,

⁷ Hence sanctify yourselves and become holy, for I, Yahweh, am your Elohim.

²⁴ Yet I said to you:You shall tenant their ground, and I Myself shall give it to you to tenant it, a land gushing with milk and honey. I, Yahweh, am your Elohim, Who separates you from the peoples.

¹⁸ As for Yahweh, He affirms today that you are to be for Him a special people, just as He promised to you, and that you are to observe all His instructions;" ¹⁹ then He promises to give you supremacy over all the nations which He has made, for praise, for a name and for beauty, and for you to be a people holy to Yahweh your Elohim just as He has promised.

⁵ Exalt Yahweh our Elohim, And bow down at His footstool, For holy is He."

⁹ Exalt Yahweh our Elohim, And bow down at His holy mountain, For holy is Yahweh our Elohim."

³ And one calls to another, and says, "Holy! Holy! Holy! Yahweh of hosts! All the earth is filled with His glory!"

¹¹ Withdraw from the way, turn aside from the path. Eradicate from our face the Holy One of Israel."

¹⁴ Who gives Himself for us, that He should be redeeming us from all lawlessness and be cleansing for Himself a people to be about Him, zealous for ideal acts."

⁷ And to the messenger of the ecclesia in Philadelphia write: "Now this is saying the True, the Holy One, Who has the key of David, and Who is opening and no one shall be locking, and locking and no one shall be opening:"

⁸ And the four animals, each one of them having six wings apiece, around and inside are replete with eyes. And they have no rest day and night, saying, "Holy! holy! holy! Lord God Almighty, Who wast and Who art and Who art coming!"

¹⁸ You shall not let an enchantress live.

⁶ As for the soul who should countenance mediums and wizards to prostitute after them, I will set My face against that soul also and cut him off from among his people.

¹⁰ There shall not be found among you one causing his son or his daughter to pass through fire, or one divining divinations, or consulting clouds, auguring or enchantin. ¹¹ or charming with charms, one asking of a medium or wizard or inquiring after the dead. ¹² For anyone doing these things is an abhorrence to Yahweh your Elohim, and owing to these abhorrences Yahweh your Elohim is evicting them from your presence.

⁷ And Saul said to his servants, `Seek for me a woman possessing a familiar spirit, and I go unto her, and inquire of her;' and his servants say unto him, `Lo, a woman possessing a familiar spirit in En-dor.. ⁸ And Saul disguises himself and puts on other garments, and goes, he and two of the men with him, and they come in unto the woman by night, and he said, `Divine, I pray you, to me by the familiar spirit, and cause to come up to me him whom I say unto you.. <sup>9</sup> And the woman said unto him, `Lo, you have known that which Saul has done, that he has cut off those having familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land; and why are you laying a snare for my soul--to put me to death?.
