¹ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying. ² Speak to the sons of Israel and take from them a rod, a rod for the father's house from all their princes by their fathers' house, twelve rods. For each man you shall write his name on his rod. ³ And the name of Aaron shall you write on the rod of Levi, for one rod is for the head of their fathers' house. ⁴ Then you will leave them in the tent of appointment before the testimony where I keep appointment with you. ⁵ So it will come to be that the man whom I choose, his rod shall bud. Thus I will cause the grumblings of the sons of Israel to subside from over Me which they were grumbling against you. ⁶ So Moses spoke to the sons of Israel, and all their princes gave a rod to him, a rod for each prince, for each prince, by their fathers' house, twelve rods in all. And the rod of Aaron was in the midst of their rods. ⁷ Moses left the rods before Yahweh in the tent of the testimony. ⁸ It came to be on the morrow that Moses came into the tent of the testimony, and behold, the rod of Aaron of the house of Levi had budded. It brought forth buds and blossomed blossoms and requited with almonds. ⁹ Moses brought forth all the rods from before Yahweh to all the sons of Israel. They saw, and each man took his rod. ¹⁰ Then Yahweh said to Moses:Restore the rod of Aaron before the testimony for safekeeping as a sign for the sons of rebellion so that you may end their grumblings against Me so that they may not die. ¹¹ Moses did just as Yahweh had instructed him. So did he. ¹² The sons of Israel spoke to Moses, saying:Behold, we expire! We perish! All of us perish!" ¹³ Everyone who comes near, yea near to the tabernacle of Yahweh shall die! Should we all come to end by expiring?

¹⁰ Not withdraw shall the sceptre from Judah, nor a statue-maker's staff from between his feet, till it be that ease shall come to him. And to it shall the expectation of the people be.

² Now Yahweh said to him: What is this in your hand? And he answered: A rod.

¹⁷ And this rod shall you take in your hand with which you shall do the signs.

⁵ These are the names of the men who shall stand with you:for Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur;" ⁶ for Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;" ⁷ for Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab;" ⁸ for Issachar, Nathanael son of Zuar;" ⁹ for Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon;" ¹⁰ for the sons of Joseph:for Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud; for Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;" ¹¹ for Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni;" ¹² for Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;" ¹³ for Asher, Pagiel son of Ocran;" ¹⁴ for Gad, Eliasaph son of Reuel;" ¹⁵ for Naphtali, Ahida son of Enan. ¹⁶ These are the called of the congregation, princes of the stocks of their fathers; they are heads of thousands of Israel.

³ Those encamping eastward, toward the sunrise, are under the standard of the camp of Judah, by their militia hosts. The prince for the sons of Judah is Nahshon son of Amminadab;" ⁴ his militia host and their mustered ones are seventy-four thousand six hundred. ⁵ Those encamping next to him are the stock of Issachar. The prince for the sons of Issachar is Nathanael son of Zuar; ⁶ his militia host and its mustered ones are fifty-four thousand four hundred. ⁷ The stock of Zebulun:The prince for the sons of Zebulun is Eliab son of Helon; ⁸ his militia host and its mustered ones are fifty-seven thousand four hundred. ⁹ All the ones being mustered of the camp of Judah are a hundred eighty-six thousand four hundred, by their militia hosts. As the first shall they journey. ¹⁰ The standard of the camp of Reuben is southward, by their militia hosts. The prince for the sons of Reuben is Elizur son of Shedeur;" ¹¹ his militia host and its mustered ones are forty-six thousand five hundred. ¹² Those encamping next to him are the stock of Simeon. The prince for the sons of Simeon is Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai; ¹³ his militia host and their mustered ones are fifty-nine thousand three hundred. ¹⁴ As for the stock of Gad:The prince for the sons of Gad is Eliasaph son of Reuel; ¹⁵ his militia host and their mustered ones are forty-five thousand six hundred fifty. ¹⁶ All the ones being mustered of the camp of Reuben are a hundred fifty-one thousand four hundred fifty, by their militia hosts. As second ones shall they journey. ¹⁷ Then the tent of appointment will journey with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the other camps. Just as they are encamping so shall they journey, each man on his own side under their standards. ¹⁸ The standard of the camp of Ephraim, by their militia hosts, is westward. The prince for the sons of Ephraim is Elishama son of Ammihud;" ¹⁹ his militia host and their mustered ones are forty thousand five hundred. ²⁰ Those encamping next to him are the stock of Manasseh. The prince for the sons of Manasseh is Gamaliel son of Pedahzur; ²¹ his militia host and their mustered ones are thirty-two thousand two hundred. ²² As for the stock of Benjamin:The prince for the sons of Benjamin is Abidan son of Gideoni; ²³ his militia host and their mustered ones are thirty-five thousand four hundred. ²⁴ All the ones being mustered of the camp of Ephraim are a hundred eight thousand one hundred, by their militia hosts. As third ones shall they journey. ²⁵ The standard of the camp of Dan is northward, by their militia hosts. The prince of the sons of Dan is Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;" ²⁶ his militia host and their mustered ones are sixty-two thousand seven hundred. ²⁷ And those encamping next to him are the stock of Asher. The prince for the sons of Asher is Pagiel son of Ocran; ²⁸ his militia host and their mustered ones are forty-one thousand five hundred. ²⁹ As for the stock of Naphtali:The prince for the sons of Naphtali is Ahida son of Enan; ³⁰ his militia host and their mustered ones are fifty-three thousand four hundred.

¹⁴ The standard of the camp of the sons of Judah decamped first by their militia hosts; and over his host was Nahshon son of Amminadab. ¹⁵ Over the host of the stock of the sons of Issachar was Nathanael son of Zuar. ¹⁶ And over the host of the stock of the sons of Zebulun was Eliab son of Helon. ¹⁷ Then the tabernacle was taken down, and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari decamped, the carriers of the tabernacle. ¹⁸ Next the standard of the camp of Reuben decamped by their militia hosts; and over his host was Elizur son of Shedeur. ¹⁹ Over the host of the stock of the sons of Simeon was Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai. ²⁰ And over the host of the stock of the sons of Gad was Eliasaph son of Reuel. ²¹ Then the Kohathites decamped, the carriers of the holy things. (The others would set up the tabernacle previous to their coming.. ²² The standard of the camp of the sons of Ephraim decamped by their militia hosts; and over his host was Elishama son of Ammihud. ²³ Over the host of the stock of the sons of Manasseh was Gamaliel son of Pedahzur. ²⁴ And over the host of the stock of the sons of Benjamin was Abidan son of Gideoni. ²⁵ Then the standard of the camp of the sons of Dan decamped as rear guard for all the camps by their militia hosts; and over his host was Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai. ²⁶ Over the host of the stock of the sons of Asher was Pagiel son of Ocran. ²⁷ And over the host of the stock of the sons of Naphtali was Ahira son of Enan.

² The rod of Your strength shall Yahweh send from Zion; Sway among Your enemies.

³ For the scepter of the wicked shall not settle over the lot of the righteous, So that the righteous may not put forth their hands into iniquity."

¹⁴ And go forth does fire from a rod of its boughs, Its fruit it has devoured, And it has no rod of strength--a sceptre to rule, Lamentation it [is] --and it is for a lamentation!'"

¹⁰ So as to slaughter a slaughter it is sharpened. So as to have brightness it is polished, Desire has rejoiced the sceptre of my son, It is despising every tree."

¹³ Because [it is] a trier, And what if even the sceptre it is despising? It shall not be, an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh."

¹⁶ `And you, son of man, take to you one stick, and write on it, For Judah, and for the sons of Israel, his companions; and take another stick, and write on it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and all the house of Israel, his companions, <sup>17</sup> and bring them near one unto another, to you, for one stick, and they have become one in your hand." <sup>18</sup> `And when sons of your people speak unto you, saying, Do you not declare to us what these [are] to you? ¹⁹ Speak unto them, Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Lo, I am taking the stick of Joseph, that [is] in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his companions, and have given them unto him, with the stick of Judah, and have made them become one stick, and they have been one in My hand." ²⁰ And the sticks on which you write have been in your hand before your eyes,

¹⁴ Shepherd Your people with Your club, the flock of Your allotment, tabernacling solitary in the wildwood in the midst of Carmel. They shall graze in Bashan and Gilead as in the days of the eon."

¹⁶ These are the names of the sons of Levi according to their genealogical annals: Gershon, Kohath and Merari. And the years of the life of Levi were a hundred thirty-seven years.

²⁰ Amram took Jochebed, his aunt, as his wife; and she bore for him Aaron, Moses and Miriam, their sister. And the years of the life of Amram were a hundred thirty-seven years.

² And these were the names of the sons of Aaron:the firstborn Nadab, then Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. ³ These were the names of the sons of Aaron, the anointed priests, whose hands he filled to serve as priests.

¹ Yahweh said to Aaron:You and your sons and your father's house with you shall bear any depravity committed against the sanctuary, and you and your sons with you shall bear any depravity in connection with your priesthood.

⁷ Yet you and your sons with you shall keep your priesthood as to every matter of the altar and to that inside the curtain. Thus you will serve in the service. As a gift am I giving your priesthood. Yet the alien who comes near shall be put to death.

¹⁶ You will put the testimony which I shall give to you into the coffer. ¹⁷ You will make a propitiatory shelter of pure gold, two cubits and a half its length and a cubit and a half its width. ¹⁸ You will make two cherubim of gold; you shall hammer them a stiff shell of one piece with the two ends of the propitiatory shelter. ¹⁹ Make one cherub from this end and one cherub from that end. Of one piece with the propitiatory shelter you shall make the cherubim at its two ends. ²⁰ The cherubim will come to be with spreading wings above, overshadowing with their wings over the propitiatory shelter with their faces each to his fellow. Toward the propitiatory shelter the faces of the cherubim shall come to be. ²¹ Then you will put the propitiatory shelter on the coffer from above; and you shall put the testimony which I shall give to you into the coffer. ²² I will keep appointment with you there, and I will speak with you above the propitiatory shelter from between the two cherubim which are over the coffer of the testimony of all which I am instructing you for the sons of Israel.

⁴² a regular ascent offering throughout your generations, at the portal of the tent of appointment, before Yahweh, where I shall keep appointment with you to speak to you there. ⁴³ And I will keep appointment there with the sons of Israel, and it will be hallowed by My glory.

⁶ and you will put it before the curtain which shall be by the coffer of the testimony, before the propitiatory shelter which shall be on the testimony where I shall keep appointment with you.

³⁶ Then you will reduce to powder some of it, pulverized, and put it before the testimony in the tent of appointment where I shall keep appointment with you. A holy of holies shall it become to you.

⁷ Moses left the rods before Yahweh in the tent of the testimony.

⁵ Then he spoke to Korah and to his whole congregation, saying:In the morning Yahweh shall make known who is His and who is holy, and He will bring him near to Him; whomever He may choose for Himself He shall bring near to Him.

¹¹ Wherefore you and all your congregation are set against Yahweh. As for Aaron, what is he that you are grumbling against him?

⁸ It came to be on the morrow that Moses came into the tent of the testimony, and behold, the rod of Aaron of the house of Levi had budded. It brought forth buds and blossomed blossoms and requited with almonds.

¹⁰ Then Yahweh said to Moses:Restore the rod of Aaron before the testimony for safekeeping as a sign for the sons of rebellion so that you may end their grumblings against Me so that they may not die.

²⁴ Wherefore, as a straw is devoured by a tongue of fire, and chaff in a blaze is collapsing, their root as if putrefied is becoming, and their bud as dust is ascending, for they reject the law of Yahweh of hosts, and the saying of the Holy One of Israel they spurn."

¹ And a Twig shall fare forth from the set slip of Jesse, and a Scion from his roots shall be fruitful."

¹¹ And I check over all the habitance for its evil, and on the wicked for their depravity. And I eradicate the pomp of the arrogant, and the pride of the terrifiers am I abasing."

⁶ Those coming to take root, will be Jacob, and those blossoming and budding, will be Israel, and they fill the face of the habitance with produce."

¹ Elated for them shall be the wilderness and the arid place, and exult will the gorge, and bud as a fondled lotus." ² It will bud, yea bud and exult, indeed, with exultation and jubilation. And the glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the honor of Carmel and Sharon. And My people shall see the glory of Yahweh, and the honor of our Elohim."

⁴¹ And burnt your houses with fire, And done in you judgments before the eyes of many women, And I have caused you to cease from going a-whoring, And also a gift you give no more."

²⁷ And I have caused your wickedness to cease from you, And your whoredoms out of the land of Egypt, And you lift not up your eyes unto them, And Egypt you do not remember again."

⁵ I will become as the night mist to Israel. He shall bud as the anemone and shall stretch out his roots as Lebanon.

²¹ These are the notations as to the tabernacle, the tabernacle of the testimony, which were noted down at the bidding of Moses, a service of the Levites under the hand of Ithamar son of Aaron the priest.

² Moreover, bring near with you your brothers of the stock of Levi, the tribe of your father, that they may be obligated to you and may minister to you when you and your sons with you are before the tent of the testimony.

⁴⁴ The tabernacle of the testimony was with our fathers in the wilderness, according as He prescribes, Who speaks to Moses, to make it according to the model which he had seen,

¹⁰ And in the vine are three intertwining branches. And it seems as if budding. Up come blossoms. Ripening are its clusters of grapes.

⁵ So it will come to be that the man whom I choose, his rod shall bud. Thus I will cause the grumblings of the sons of Israel to subside from over Me which they were grumbling against you.

¹⁷ There shall I make the horn of David sprout; I will arrange a lamp for My anointed one. ¹⁸ His enemies shall I clothe with shame, Yet his insignia shall blossom upon him."

³ Like an apricot tree among the trees of the wildwood, So is my darling among the sons; In his shadow I covet that I may sit, And his fruit is sweet to my palate."

² In that day the elegance of Yahweh is coming to be for stateliness, and for glory, and the face of the land for pomp and for beauty, for the delivered of Israel and Judah."

²⁴ And known have all trees of the field That I, Yahweh, have made low the high tree, I have set on high the low tree, I have dried up the moist tree, And I have caused the dry tree to flourish, I, Yahweh, have spoken, and have done [it]!'"

¹² And it is plucked up in fury, To the earth it has been cast, And the east wind has dried up its fruit, Broken and withered has been the rod of its strength, Fire has consumed it."

¹ I am the true Grapevine, and My Father is the Farmer." ² Every branch in Me bringing forth no fruit, He is taking it away, and every one bringing forth fruit, He is cleansing it, that it may be bringing forth more fruit." ³ Already you are clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. ⁴ Remain in Me. I also am in you. According as the branch can not be bringing forth fruit from itself, if it should not be remaining in the grapevine, thus neither you, if you should not be remaining in Me." ⁵ I am the Grapevine. You are the branches. He who is remaining in Me, and I in him, this one is bringing forth much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing." ⁶ If anyone should not be remaining in Me, he was cast out as a branch, and it withered. And they are gathering them, and into the fire are they casting them, and they are being burned."

⁴ having the golden censer and the ark of the covenant, covered about everywhere with gold, in which was the golden urn having the manna, and Aaron's staff which germinates, and the tablets of the covenant."

³² Then Moses said: This is the word which Yahweh has instructed, Take the fullness of an omer of it as a charge throughout your generations, that they may see the bread which I gave you to eat in the wilderness when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt.

³⁸ the fire-pans of these sinners against their own souls. And they will make of them stamped foils into an overlay for the altar; for since they brought them near before Yahweh, they shall be holy and shall become as a sign to the sons of Israel.

⁴⁰ a reminder for the sons of Israel so that no alien man who is not of the seed of Aaron might come near to try to fume incense before Yahweh so that he does not become as Korah and his congregation, just as Yahweh had spoken to him by means of Moses.

²⁴ You have been rebellious against Yahweh from the day I knew you.

¹⁹ And now, write down for yourselves this song and teach it to the sons of Israel. Put it in their mouths so that this song may come to be for Me as a testimony against the sons of Israel. ²⁰ When I shall bring them to the ground gushing with milk and honey about which I had sworn to their fathers, when they eat and are satisfied and are sleek so that they turn around to other elohim and serve them, when they thus spurn Me and annul My covenant, ²¹ and it comes to be that many evils and distresses find them, then this song will answer as a testimony before them (for it shall not be forgotten from the mouths of their seed) that I know the bent of their heart which they are forming today ere I bring them to the land about which I had sworn. ²² (Moses wrote this song on that day and taught it to the sons of Israel.) ²³ Then He instructed Joshua son of Nun and said:Be steadfast and be resolute! For you shall bring the sons of Israel to the land about which I had sworn to them; and I Myself shall come to be with you. ²⁴ It came to be as Moses concluded writing all the words of this law on a scroll until they were finished, ²⁵ that Moses instructed the Levites, the carriers of the coffer of the covenant of Yahweh, saying. ²⁶ You are to take this scroll of the law, and you must place it by the side of the coffer of the covenant of Yahweh your Elohim, and it will come to be there as a testimony against you,

¹² and the sons of Eli [are] sons of worthlessness, they have not known Yahweh.

²² And every bad and worthless man, of the men who have gone with David, answers, yea, they say, `Because that they have not gone with us we do not give to them of the spoil which we have delivered, except each his wife and his children, and they lead away and go.

⁴ My soul is in the midst of parent-lions; Let me confidently lie among flaming foes, even sons of humanity; Their teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue a sharp sword."

² Hark, you heavens! And give ear, O earth! For Yahweh speaks! Sons I bring up and exalt, yet they, they transgress against Me."

⁹ More than in the days of Gibeah do you sin, Israel; there they stood! In Gibeah the battle against the sons of iniquity is not overtaking them."

² in which once you walked, in accord with the eon of this world, in accord with the chief of the jurisdiction of the air, the spirit now operating in the sons of stubbornness " ³ (among whom we also all behaved ourselves once in the lusts of our flesh, doing the will of the flesh and of the comprehension, and were, in our nature, children of indignation, even as the rest),

⁶ Let no one be seducing you with empty words, for because of these things the indignation of God is coming on the sons of stubbornness."

¹¹ Yet the sons of Korah did not die.

⁷ For we are consumed by Your anger, And by Your fury are we filled with panic."

³ A man's folly subverts his way, And his heart is irate against Yahweh."

⁵ And saying am I, "Alack to me! For stilled am I, for a man of unclean lips am I, and amidst a people of unclean lips am I dwelling, for the King, Yahweh of hosts, my eyes have seen!"

¹⁶ For not for the eon will I contend, nor will I be permanently wroth, in case the spirit from before Me shall droop, and all who have breath, that I made."

⁵ And you have been oblivious of the entreaty which is arguing with you as with sons: My son, do not disdain the discipline of the Lord, Nor yet faint when being exposed by Him."

³ yet from the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, the Elohim says, `Not eat of it shall you, and not touch it shall you, lest you be dying..

⁵¹ When the tabernacle is to journey the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to encamp the Levites shall set it up. But any alien who comes near shall be put to death. ⁵² The sons of Israel will encamp by their militia hosts, each man on his campsite and each under his standard. ⁵³ Yet the Levites shall encamp around the tabernacle of the testimony so that no wrath may come on the congregation of the sons of Israel. The Levites will keep guard of the tabernacle of the testimony.

²⁶ He spoke to the congregation, saying:Withdraw, I pray, from the tents of these wicked men! Do not touch anything which belongs to them lest you be swept up in all their sins.

⁴ They will be obligated to you and will keep guard of the tent of appointment for all the service of the tent. Yet no alien may come near to you. ⁵ You will keep guard of the holy place and guard of the altar so that no more wrath shall come on the sons of Israel. ⁶ As for Me, behold, I have taken your brothers, the Levites, from the midst of the sons of Israel as a gift for you, given to Yahweh to serve in the service of the tent of appointment. ⁷ Yet you and your sons with you shall keep your priesthood as to every matter of the altar and to that inside the curtain. Thus you will serve in the service. As a gift am I giving your priesthood. Yet the alien who comes near shall be put to death.

¹³ The anger of Yahweh grew hot against Israel, and He caused them to rove about in the wilderness forty years until the whole generation doing evil in the eyes of Yahweh came to end.

¹⁶ It came to be just as all the men of war had come to end, dying from among the people,

¹⁹ And He smites among the men of Beth-Shemesh, for they looked into the ark of Yahweh, yea, He smites among the people seventy men--fifty chief men; and the people mourn, because Yahweh smote among the people--a great smiting. ²⁰ And the men of Beth-Shemesh say, `Who is able to stand before Yahweh, this holy Elohim? and unto whom does He go up from us?. <sup>21</sup> And they send messengers unto the inhabitants of Kirjath-Jearim, saying, `The Philistines have sent back the ark of Yahweh; come down, take it up unto you..

⁶ And they come unto the threshing-floor of Nachon, and Uzzah puts forth [his hand] unto the ark of Elohim, and lays hold on it, for they released the oxen;" ⁷ and the anger of Yahweh burns against Uzzah, and Elohim smites him there for the error, and he dies there by the ark of Elohim. ⁸ And it is displeasing to David, because that Yahweh has broken forth a breach upon Uzzah, and [one] calls that place Perez-Uzzah, unto this day;" ⁹ and David fears Yahweh on that day, and said, `How does the ark of Yahweh come in unto me?. <sup>10</sup> And David has not been willing to turn aside unto himself the ark of Yahweh, to the city of David, and David turns it aside to the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite, <sup>11</sup> and the ark of Yahweh does inhabit the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months, and Yahweh blesses Obed-Edom and all his house. <sup>12</sup> And it is declared to king David, saying, `Yahweh has blessed the house of Obed-Edom, and all that he has, because of the ark of Elohim;' and David goes and brings up the ark of Elohim from the house of Obed-Edom to the city of David with joy.

¹¹ And it is displeasing to David, because Yahweh has made a breach upon Uzza, and one calls that place `Breach of Uzza' unto this day. <sup>12</sup> And David fears Elohim on that day, saying, `How do I bring in unto me the ark of Elohim?. ¹³ And David has not turned aside the ark unto himself, unto the city of David, and turns it aside unto the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.

¹³ because at the first [it was] not you, Yahweh our Elohim made a breach upon us, because we sought Him not according to the ordinance..

¹⁴ If He places it in His heart concerning him, He can gather back His spirit and His breath to Himself;" ¹⁵ All flesh would expire together, And humanity would return to the soil.

³ If You should keep account of depravities, O Yah, O Yahweh, who should stand? ⁴ For with You is pardon That You may be devoutly feared.

²² And now, you must not be mocking, lest your bonds should hold fast, for a conclusive and decisive matter I hear from my Lord, Yahweh of hosts, which He will do over the entire land."

⁵ Now Ananias, hearing these words, falling down, gives up the soul. And great fear came on all those hearing these things."

¹¹ And great fear came on the whole ecclesia and on all those who hear these things. ¹² Now through the hands of the apostles many signs and miracles occurred among the people. And they were all, with one accord, in the portico of Solomon." ¹³ Now of the rest, no one dared to join them, but the people magnify them, ¹⁴ yet, rather, there were added of those believing the Lord, multitudes of both men and women,

¹³ Yet now, in Christ Jesus, you, who once are far off, are become near by the blood of Christ."

¹⁹ Having then, brethren, boldness for the entrance of the holy places by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by a recently slain and living way which He dedicates for us, through the curtain, that is, His flesh, ²¹ and a great Priest over the house of God, ²² we may be approaching with a true heart, in the assurance of faith, with hearts sprinkled from a wicked conscience, and a body bathed in clean water."
