¹ The sons of Israel, the whole congregation, entered the wilderness of Zin in the first month, and the people dwelt at Kadesh. Miriam died there and was entombed there. ² Now no water was for the congregation, and they assembled against Moses and against Aaron. ³ The people contended with Moses and spoke, saying:O that we had expired when our brothers expired before Yahweh!" ⁴ Why did you bring the assembly of Yahweh to this wilderness to die there, we and our livestock? ⁵ And why did you lead us up from Egypt to bring us to this bad place? This is not a place of seed, fig, vine or pomegranate, and there is not even water to drink. ⁶ When Moses and Aaron came from the presence of the assembly to the opening of the tent of appointment and fell on their faces, then the glory of Yahweh appeared to them. ⁷ And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying. ⁸ Take the rod and assemble the congregation, you and Aaron your brother; speak to the crag before their eyes, and it will give its water. Thus you will bring forth water for them from the crag and will give drink to the congregation and their livestock. ⁹ So Moses took the rod from before Yahweh just as He had instructed him. ¹⁰ Moses and Aaron assembled the assembly before the crag, and he said to them:Hear, I pray, you rebels! From this crag shall we bring forth water for you? ¹¹ When Moses raised up his hand and smote the crag with his rod twice, then much water came forth, and the congregation and their livestock drank. ¹² Yet Yahweh said to Moses and to Aaron:Because you did not believe in Me to sanctify Me before the eyes of the sons of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I will give to them. ¹³ These were the waters of Meribah where the sons of Israel contended with Yahweh, and He showed Himself holy among them. ¹⁴ Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom:Thus says your brother Israel, You know yourself all the stress which finds u. ¹⁵ and that our fathers went down to Egypt, and we dwelt in Egypt many days and that the Egyptians did evil to us and to our fathers. ¹⁶ We cried to Yahweh, and He heard our voice and sent a messenger and brought us forth from Egypt. Now behold, we are at Kadesh, a city at your outmost boundary. ¹⁷ Let us pass, we pray, through your land. We shall not pass through field or vineyard, nor shall we drink water of a well. By the king's road shall we go. We shall not turn aside right or left until we have crossed over your boundary. ¹⁸ Yet Edom said to him:You shall not pass through me lest I come forth with the sword to meet you. ¹⁹ Then the sons of Israel said to him:By the highway shall we go up. And if we drink your water, I and my cattle, then I will give its selling price. But this is no great matter. Let me pass on my feet. ²⁰ Yet he said:You shall not pass. Then Edom came forth to meet him, heavy with people and with a steadfast hand. ²¹ Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his boundary; so Israel turned aside from him. ²² The sons of Israel, the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh and came to Mount Hor. ²³ Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron at Mount Hor on the boundary of the land of Edom, saying. ²⁴ Aaron shall be gathered to his people, for he shall not come to the land which I will give to the sons of Israel, because you rebelled against My bidding at the waters of Meribah. ²⁵ Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up to Mount Hor. ²⁶ Strip Aaron of his garments and put them on Eleazar his son. As for Aaron, he shall be gathered and will die there. ²⁷ Moses did just as Yahweh had instructed. They went up to Mount Hor before the eyes of the whole congregation. ²⁸ Moses stripped Aaron of his garments and put them on Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there on the summit of the mountain. When Moses and Eleazar descended from the mountain, ²⁹ the whole congregation discerned that Aaron had expired. They lamented for Aaron thirty days, all the house of Israel.

⁴ Yet his sister stationed herself afar, to know what might be done to him.

⁷ Then his sister said to the daughter of Pharaoh: Shall I go and call for you a woman, a wetnurse from the Hebrews that she may nurse the boy for you?

²⁰ Then Miriam, the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took the tambourine in her hand, and all the women went forth after her with tambourines and with choruses.

¹ then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses concerning the case of the Cushite woman whom he took (for he had taken a Cushite woman).

¹⁰ When the cloud withdrew from above the tent, behold, Miriam was leprous as snow. Aaron turned around to Miriam, and behold, she was leprous.

¹⁵ So Miriam was locked out outside the camp seven days. Yet the people did not journey until Miriam was gathered in.

²¹ So they went up and explored the land from the wilderness of Zin as far as Rehob toward Lebo-hamath.

¹⁶ We cried to Yahweh, and He heard our voice and sent a messenger and brought us forth from Egypt. Now behold, we are at Kadesh, a city at your outmost boundary.

⁵⁹ and the name of Amram's wife was Jochebed, a Levite daughter who was born to the Levite in Egypt. And she bore for Amram Aaron and Moses and Miriam, their sister.

¹⁴ Just as in the contention of the congregation both of you rebelled against My bidding in the wilderness of Zin to sanctify Me at the waters before their eyes. (These were the waters of Meribah at Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.)

³⁶ They journeyed from Ezion-geber and encamped in the wilderness of Zin. They journeyed from the wilderness of Zin and encamped in the wilderness of Paran; it is toward Kadesh.

²² Then you came near to me, all of you, and said:Let us send men before us that they may reconnoiter in the land for us and bring us back word about the way by which we should ascend, and about the cities to which we shall come. ²³ Now the word was good in my eyes, so I took twelve men from you, one man for each tribe.

¹⁴ The days that we went from Kadesh-barnea until we crossed over the watercourse of Zered were thirty-eight years, until the entire generation of the men of war had come to end from among the camp, just as Yahweh had sworn concerning them.

⁵¹ because both of you offended Me in the midst of the sons of Israel at the waters of Meribah at Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin, because neither of you hallowed Me in the midst of the sons of Israel.

⁸ The voice of Yahweh, it is causing the wilderness to travail; Yahweh is causing the wilderness of Kadesh to travail."

⁴ For I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and from the house of servants I ransomed you. And I am sending before you Moses, Aaron and Miriam."

²³ When they came to Marah, they were unable to drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter; therefore one called its name Marah. ²⁴ Then the people grumbled against Moses, saying: What shall we drink?

² Then the whole congregation of the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness;

⁷ And in the morning then you will see the glory of Yahweh since He heard your grumblings against Yahweh. What are we that you are grumbling against us?

¹² I have heard the grumblings of the sons of Israel. Speak to them saying, Between the evening hours you shall eat flesh, and in the morning you shall be satisfied with bread. Then you will realize that I am Yahweh your Elohim.

¹ The whole congregation of the sons of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin in their journeys at the bidding of Yahweh, and they encamped in Rephidim; yet there was no water for the people to drink. ² So the people contended with Moses and said: Give to us water that we may drink. And Moses said to them: Why are you contending with me? Why are you probing Yahweh? ³ When the people thirsted there for water, the people grumbled against Moses and said: Why is this that you brought us up from Egypt to put me and my sons and my cattle to death by thirst? ⁴ So Moses cried to Yahweh, saying: What shall I do for this people? A little further and they will stone me.

¹ The people became like complainers, evil in the ears of Yahweh. Yahweh hearkened and His anger grew hot, and the fire of Yahweh consumed some among them and devoured the outmost part of the camp. ² Then the people cried to Moses, so Moses prayed to Yahweh, and the fire was drowned. ³ He called the name of that place Taberah, for the fire of Yahweh had consumed some among them. ⁴ The rabble which was among them lusted after yearning; and again the sons of Israel lamented also and said:Who shall give us flesh to eat? ⁵ We remember the fish which we ate in Egypt gratuitously, the cucumbers and the melons, the leeks, the onions and the garlic!" ⁶ Yet now our soul's desire is dry; there is nothing at all barring the manna before our eyes.

³ They assembled against Moses and against Aaron and said to them:Enough of you! For the whole congregation, all of them are holy, and in their midst is Yahweh; so for what reason are you lifting yourselves up over the assembly of Yahweh?

¹⁹ Korah had assembled the whole congregation against them at the opening of the tent of appointment. Then the glory of Yahweh appeared to the whole congregation,

⁴² It came to be, when the congregation assembled against Moses and against Aaron and they turned around toward the tent of appointment, that, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of Yahweh appeared.

⁵ The people spoke against Elohim and against Moses:Why did you bring us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread and there in no water, and our soul is irritated by the lightly esteemed bread.

¹⁰ Nor yet be murmuring even as some of them murmur, and perished by the exterminator." ¹¹ Now all this befalls them typically. Yet it was written for our admonition, to whom the consummations of the eons have attained."

² Then the whole congregation of the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness; ³ and the sons of Israel said to them: O that we had died by the hand of Yahweh in the land of Egypt when we sat over the flesh pots when we ate bread to satisfaction, for you have brought us forth to this wilderness to put this entire assembly to death with famine.

² So the people contended with Moses and said: Give to us water that we may drink. And Moses said to them: Why are you contending with me? Why are you probing Yahweh?

¹ The people became like complainers, evil in the ears of Yahweh. Yahweh hearkened and His anger grew hot, and the fire of Yahweh consumed some among them and devoured the outmost part of the camp.

³³ The flesh was still between their teeth, ere it was cut off, when the anger of Yahweh grew hot against the people; and Yahweh smote among the people with a very great smiting. ³⁴ One called the name of that place Kibroth Hattaavah, for there they entombed the people, the lusters.

¹ The whole congregation lifted up and gave forth their voice, and the people lamented through that night. ² All the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and against Aaron. The whole congregation said to them:O that we had died in the land of Egypt or in this wilderness! O that we had died!

³⁶ The men whom Moses had sent to explore the land, who had returned and caused the whole congregation to grumble against him by bringing forth a disparaging muttering about the land, ³⁷ those men who were bringing forth evil mutterings of the land died by a stroke before Yahweh.

³¹ It came to be as he finished speaking all these words that the ground which was under them was rent, ³² and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up with their households and all the humans who were with Korah and all the goods. ³³ So they descended, they and all who belonged to them, alive to the unseen; and the earth covered over them, and they perished from the midst of the assembly. ³⁴ Yet all Israel who were around them fled at their voice, for they said:Lest the earth swallow us up. ³⁵ Then fire came forth from Yahweh and devoured the two hundred fifty men who were bringing near the incense.

⁴⁹ Now those dead by the stroke were fourteen thousand seven hundred, aside from those dead over the matter of Korah.

¹⁰ For it did not close the doors of my mother's belly Or conceal misery from my eyes. ¹¹ Why did I not die from the womb, From the belly come forth and expire?

⁹ Better off were they who were slain by the sword than those slain by famine, Those who are succumbing, stabbed from lack of produce of the field."

²¹ They said to them: May Yahweh see you, and may He judge since you have caused our scent to stink in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of his servants, giving a sword into their hands to kill us.

¹¹ They said to Moses: Is it for lack of tombs in Egypt that you have taken us to die in the wilderness? What is this you have done to us bringing us forth from Egypt? ¹² Is not this the word which we spoke to you in Egypt, saying: Leave off from us and let us serve the Egyptians, for it better for us to serve the Egyptians than for us to die in the wilderness.

³ and the sons of Israel said to them: O that we had died by the hand of Yahweh in the land of Egypt when we sat over the flesh pots when we ate bread to satisfaction, for you have brought us forth to this wilderness to put this entire assembly to death with famine.

³ When the people thirsted there for water, the people grumbled against Moses and said: Why is this that you brought us up from Egypt to put me and my sons and my cattle to death by thirst?

⁵ We remember the fish which we ate in Egypt gratuitously, the cucumbers and the melons, the leeks, the onions and the garlic!"

¹³ Is it a little thing that you brought us up from a land gushing with milk and honey to put us to death in the wilderness, and that you are making yourself a chief, yea a chief over us? ¹⁴ Indeed, into a land gushing with milk and honey you did not bring us that you might give to us an allotment of field and vineyard. Are you picking out the eyes of these men? We shall not come up!"

⁴¹ The whole congregation of the sons of Israel grumbled on the morrow against Moses and against Aaron, saying:You yourselves put the people of Yahweh to death.

²¹ They forgot the El Who was saving them, Who was doing great deeds in Egypt,

³⁵ This Moses, whom they disown, saying, 'Who constitutes you a chief and a justice over us?' this one has God commissioned to be a chief as well as a redeemer, a justice, with the hand of the messenger who was seen by him in the thorn bush."

³⁹ to whom our fathers are not willing to become obedient, but they thrust him away, and turned to Egypt in their hearts, ⁴⁰ saying to Aaron, 'Make us gods who will go before us - for this Moses, the man who led us out of the land of Egypt, we are not aware what became of him.'"

¹⁴ Indeed, into a land gushing with milk and honey you did not bring us that you might give to us an allotment of field and vineyard. Are you picking out the eyes of these men? We shall not come up!"

¹⁵ Who was causing you to go through the great and fear-inspiring wilderness with burning serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground in which there is no water, Who was bringing forth for you water from the flinty rock,

²¹ and forty years You have nourished them in a wilderness; they have not lacked; their garments have not worn out, and their feet have not swelled.

² `Go, and you have called in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus said Yahweh:I have remembered for you The kindness of your youth, the love of your espousals, Your going after Me in a wilderness, in a land not sown."

⁶ And have not said, Where [is] Yahweh, Who brings us up out of the land of Egypt, Who leads us in a wilderness, In a land of deserts and pits, In a dry land, and of death-shade, In a land--none has passed through it, Nor dwelt has man there?'"

³⁶ As I was judged with your fathers, In the wilderness of the land of Egypt, So I am judged with you, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh."

¹⁰ And it came to be as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the sons of Israel, that they turned around to the wilderness, and behold, the glory of Yahweh, it appeared in the cloud.

⁴ So Moses cried to Yahweh, saying: What shall I do for this people? A little further and they will stone me.

⁵ Yahweh descended in the column of cloud and stood at the opening of the tent and called Aaron and Miriam. And the two of them went forth.

⁵ Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before the whole assembly of the congregation of the sons of Israel.

¹⁰ Yet the whole congregation said to pelt them with stones. Then the glory of Yahweh appeared in a cloud on the tent of appointment to all the sons of Israel.

⁴ When Moses heard this, he fell on his face.

²² Then they fell on their faces and said:El, Elohim of the spirits for all flesh, as for the one man, he is sinning; but shall You be wrathful over the whole congregation?

⁴⁵ Get away from the midst of this congregation so that I may finish them in a moment. Then they fell on their faces.

⁶ And Joshua rends his garments, and falls on his face to the earth before the ark of Yahweh till the evening, he and the elders of Israel, and they cause dust to go up on their head.

¹⁶ and David lifts up his eyes, and sees the messenger of Yahweh standing between the earth and the heavens, and his sword drawn in his hand, stretched out over Jerusalem, and David falls, and the elders, covered with sackcloth, on their faces.

³ With words of hatred, they have surrounded me, And they fight against me gratuitously." ⁴ In return for my love they are my adversaries, Even while I was in prayer."

³⁹ And coming forward a little, He falls on His face, praying and saying, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass by from Me. However, not as I will, but as Thou!"

¹⁴ Is it a matter too marvelous for Yahweh Elohim? At the appointed time will I return to you according to the season of life, and Sarah has a son.

² Now Yahweh said to him: What is this in your hand? And he answered: A rod.

¹⁷ And this rod shall you take in your hand with which you shall do the signs.

²⁰ So Moses took his wife and his sons and let them ride on the donkey and returned to the land of Egypt. Moses also took the rod of the One, Elohim, in his hand.

²⁰ Moses and Aaron did so just as Yahweh had instructed; he raised the rod and smote the waters which were in the waterway before the eyes of Pharaoh and before the eyes of his servants. And all the waters which were in the waterway were turned to blood.

¹⁶ And you, raise high your rod and stretch out your hand over the sea and split it, that the sons of Israel may enter into the midst of the sea on dry ground.

⁵ Yahweh said to Moses: Pass before the people, and take with you some of the elders of Israel; and your rod with which you smote the waterway take in your hand and go. ⁶ Behold Me standing before you there, on the rock at Mount Horeb. You will smite the rock, and water will come forth from it, and the people will drink. Moses did so before the eyes of the elders of Israel.

⁹ And Moses said to Joshua: Choose men for us and go forth. Fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will be stationed on the summit of the hill with the rod of Elohim in my hand.

¹¹ When Moses raised up his hand and smote the crag with his rod twice, then much water came forth, and the congregation and their livestock drank.

¹⁵ The slope of the watercourses which stretches out to the seat of Ar, and leans to the boundary of Moab,.

¹⁸ a well--chiefs delved it, patrons of the people dug it with a statute-maker's staff, with their own staves) and from the wilderness to Mattanah,

⁵ and it has been, in the prolongation of the horn of the jubilee, in your hearing the voice of the trumpet, all the people shout--a great shout, and the wall of the city has fallen under it, and the people have gone up, each over-against him..

²⁰ And the people shout, and blow with the trumpets, and it comes to pass when the people hear the voice of the trumpet, that the people shout--a great shout, and the wall falls under it, and the people goes up into the city, each over-against him, and they capture the city;"

¹⁵ and bread from the heavens You have given to them for their hunger, and water from a rock have brought out to them for their thirst, and do say to them to go in to possess the land that You have lifted up Your hand to give to them.

⁹ For He spoke, and it came to be; He enjoined, and it stood firm."

¹⁵ He rent rocks in the wilderness And let them drink as from the abyss, abundantly." ¹⁶ He brought forth floods from a crag, And He made the water descend like streams."

⁴¹ He opened a rock, and waters gushed out; They flowed into the arid places as a stream."

⁸ The One Who turned the rock into a pond of water, The flintstone into a spring of water."

¹⁷ The humble and the needy are seeking water, yet there is none. Their tongue is benumbed with thirst. I, Yahweh, will respond to them; the Elohim of Israel, I will not forsake them." ¹⁸ I will open up streams on ridges, and in the midst of valleys, springs. I will convert the wilderness into a pond of water, and arid land into vents of water."

²⁰ The field life shall glorify Me; the jackals and the ostrich. For I provide water in the wilderness, streams in the desolation, to give drink to My people, and My chosen."

²¹ And they were not thirsty in the deserts in which He conducted them. He caused water from a rock to exude for them. And rending was the rock, and gushing was the water, and My people drink."

²¹ Now, answering, Jesus said to them, "Verily, I am saying to you, If you should be having faith and not be doubting, not only that to the fig tree will you be doing, but if you should be saying to this mountain also, 'Be picked up and cast into the sea!' it will be occurring."

²² And answering, Jesus is saying to them, "If you have faith of God, ²³ verily, I am saying to you that whosoever may be saying to this mountain, 'Be picked up and cast into the sea,' and may not be doubting in his heart, but should be believing that what he is speaking is occurring, it shall be his, whatsoever he may be saying." ²⁴ Therefore I am saying to you, All, whatever you are praying and requesting, be believing that you obtained, and it will be yours."

¹³ If you, then, being inherently wicked, are aware how to give good gifts to your children, how much rather will the Father Who is out of heaven, be giving holy spirit to those requesting Him!"

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said to her, "If you were aware of the gratuity of God, and Who it is Who is saying to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would request Him, and He would give you living water." ¹¹ The woman is saying to Him, "Lord, you have not even a bucket, and the well is deep. Whence, then, have you living water? ¹² Not greater are you than our father Jacob, who gives us the well, and he himself drank out of it, and his sons, and what was nourished by him? ¹³ Jesus answered and said to her, "Everyone who is drinking of this water will be thirsting again, ¹⁴ yet whoever may be drinking of the water which I shall be giving him, shall under no circumstances be thirsting for the eon, but the water which I shall be giving him will become in him a spring of water, welling up into life eonian."

²⁴ Hitherto you do not request anything in My name. Request and you shall obtain, that your joy may be full."

¹⁴ These all were persevering with one accord in prayer, together with the women and Miriam, the mother of Jesus, and His brothers."

¹ And at the fulfillment of the day of Pentecost they were all alike in the same place. ² And suddenly there came out of heaven a blare, even as of a violent, carrying blast, and it fills the whole house where they were sitting." ³ And seen by them were dividing tongues as if of fire, and one is seated on each one of them." ⁴ And they are all filled with holy spirit, and they begin to speak in different languages, according as the spirit gave them to declaim."

¹ And he shows me a river of water of life, resplendent as crystal, issuing out of the throne of God and the Lambkin."

¹⁷ And the spirit and the bride are saying, 'Come!' and let him who is hearing say, 'Come!' And let him who is thirsting come. Let him who will, take the water of life gratuitously."

¹⁰ Then Yahweh said to Moses:Restore the rod of Aaron before the testimony for safekeeping as a sign for the sons of rebellion so that you may end their grumblings against Me so that they may not die.

⁸ And saying are they to him, "A dream we dream, and there is no interpreting of it.And saying is Joseph to them, "Do not interpretations belong to the Elohim? Relate them, pray, to me.

¹⁶ And answering Pharaoh is Joseph saying, "Apart from the Elohim there is no answer for the welfare of Pharaoh.

²² Shall the flock and the herd be slain for them to provide for them, or all the fish of the sea be gathered for them to provide for them? ²³ And Yahweh said to Moses:The hand of Yahweh, is it short? Now shall you see whether My word shall happen to you or not.

²⁴ You have been rebellious against Yahweh from the day I knew you.

³² They prompted wrath at the waters of Meribah, And it was evil for Moses for their sake" ³³ Because they provoked his spirit, And he talked rashly with his lips."

²⁸ Actually, the Eloah in the heavens reveals secrets, and He makes known to king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. O king, live for the eon! Your dream, even the visions of your head on your bed; it is this:" ²⁹ You, O king--your ruminations on your bed come up regarding all that shall be after this. The Revealer of secrets makes known to you what that shall be." ³⁰ And I--this secret is revealed to me not by wisdom actually in me more than any other of the living. It is revealed only to the intent that the interpretation to the king be made known, and that you shall know the ruminations of your heart."

²² Yet I am saying to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be liable to the judging. Yet whoever may be saying to his brother, 'Raka!' shall be liable to the Sanhedrin. Yet whoever may be saying, 'Stupid!' shall be liable to the Gehenna of fire.

⁵⁴ Now perceiving it, His disciples, James and John, say, "Lord, art Thou willing? May we be telling fire to descend from heaven and consume them, as Elijah also does? ⁵⁵ Now, being turned, He rebukes them."

¹² Now, perceiving it, Peter answers the people: "Men! Israelites! Why are you marveling at this? Or why at us are you looking so intently, as if by our own power or devoutness we had made him walk? ¹³ The God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorifies His Boy Jesus, Whom you, indeed, give up and disown before the face of Pilate, when he decides to release Him." ¹⁴ Now you disown the holy and just One, and request a man, a murderer, to be surrendered to you as a favor." ¹⁵ Yet the Inaugurator of Life you kill, Whom God rouses from among the dead, of which we are witnesses." ¹⁶ And in the faith of His name, His name gives stability to this man whom you are beholding, with whom, also, you are acquainted, and the faith which is through Him, gives him this unimpaired soundness in front of you all."

⁹ This one hears Paul speaking, who, looking intently at him, and perceiving that he has faith to be saved, ¹⁰ said with a loud voice, "Rise upright on your feet!And he leaps, and walked." ¹¹ Besides, the throngs, perceiving what Paul does, lift up their voice in Lycaonian saying, "The gods, made like men, descended to us!" ¹² Besides, they called Barnabas Zeus, yet Paul, Hermes, since, in fact, he was the leading speaker." ¹³ Besides, the priest of the Zeus which is before the city, bringing bulls and garlands to the portals, wanted to sacrifice together with the throngs." ¹⁴ Now, on hearing this, the apostles Barnabas and Paul, tearing their garments, spring out into the throng, crying" ¹⁵ and saying, "Men! Why are you doing these things? We also are men, of like emotions as you, bringing the evangel to you to turn you back from these vain things to the living God, Who makes heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them,

³ Then Paul said to him, "God is about to beat you, whitewashed wall! And you are sitting to judge me according to the law, and illegally are you ordering me to be beaten!" ⁴ Now those standing by say, "The chief priest of God are you reviling!" ⁵ And Paul averred, "I was not aware, brethren, that he is chief priest. For it is written that, 'Of your people's chief you shall not be declaring evil.'"

¹⁷ I have, then, a boast in Christ Jesus, in that which is toward God." ¹⁸ For I am not daring to speak any of what Christ does not effect through me for the obedience of the nations, in word and work, ¹⁹ in the power of signs and miracles, in the power of God's spirit, so that, from Jerusalem and around unto Illyricum, I have completed the evangel of the Christ."

⁷ So that, neither is he who is planting anything, nor he who is irrigating, but God Who makes it grow up."

²⁶ Are you indignant, and not sinning? Do not let the sun be sinking on your vexation,

² For we all are tripping much. If anyone is not tripping in word, this one is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also."

⁶ Behold Me standing before you there, on the rock at Mount Horeb. You will smite the rock, and water will come forth from it, and the people will drink. Moses did so before the eyes of the elders of Israel.

¹ The sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, each took his fire-pan, put fire in them, placed incense on it and came near before Yahweh with alien fire such as He had not instructed them.

⁸ Take the rod and assemble the congregation, you and Aaron your brother; speak to the crag before their eyes, and it will give its water. Thus you will bring forth water for them from the crag and will give drink to the congregation and their livestock.

¹³ And Samuel comes in unto Saul, and Saul said to him, `Blessed [are] you of Yahweh; I have performed the word of Yahweh.. <sup>14</sup> And Samuel said, `And what [is] the noise of this flock in mine ears--and the noise of the herd which I am hearing?.

¹⁹ and why have you not hearkened to the voice of Yahweh--and do fly unto the spoil, and do do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh?.

²⁴ And Saul said unto Samuel, `I have sinned, for I passed over the command of Yahweh, and your words; because I have feared the people, I also hearken to their voice;"

²¹ and he calls unto the man of Elohim who came from Judah, saying, `Thus said Yahweh, Because that you have provoked the mouth of Yahweh, and have not kept the command that Yahweh your Elohim charged you, ²² and turn back and do eat bread and drink water in the place of which He said unto you, You do not eat bread nor drink water--your carcase comes not in unto the burying-place of your fathers.. ²³ And it comes to pass, after his eating bread, and after his drinking, that he saddles for him the ass, for the prophet whom he had brought back, ²⁴ and he goes, and a lion finds him in the way, and puts him to death, and his carcase is cast in the way, and the ass is standing near it, and the lion is standing near the carcase.

⁹ And they come in unto the threshing-floor of Chidon, and Uzza puts forth his hand to seize the ark, for the oxen were released, ¹⁰ and the anger of Yahweh is kindled against Uzza, and He smites him, because that he has put forth his hand on the ark, and he dies there before Elohim.

² Then said David, `None [are] to carry the ark of Elohim, except the Levites, for on them has Yahweh fixed to carry the ark of Elohim, and to serve Him--unto the eon..

¹³ because at the first [it was] not you, Yahweh our Elohim made a breach upon us, because we sought Him not according to the ordinance..

¹⁶ He brought forth floods from a crag, And He made the water descend like streams."

⁵ I grazed you in the wilderness, in the land of droughts."

²⁰ teaching them to be keeping all, whatever I direct you. And lo! I am with you all the days till the conclusion of the eon! Amen!"

⁴ and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they drank of the spiritual Rock which followed. Now the Rock was Christ."

²⁰ for the anger of man is not working the righteousness of God.

³ Then Moses said to Aaron:That is what Yahweh spoke of, saying:Among those near Me shall I be hallowed, and in the presence of all the people shall I be glorified. Aaron was still;"

¹⁵ So if thus You are doing to me, kill me, I pray, yea kill me. If I have found grace in Your eyes then do not let me see Your evil.

²¹ Moses said:Six hundred thousand men on foot are the people among whom I am, yet You say:Flesh shall I give to them, and they will eat it for a month of days!" ²² Shall the flock and the herd be slain for them to provide for them, or all the fish of the sea be gathered for them to provide for them?

²⁴ Aaron shall be gathered to his people, for he shall not come to the land which I will give to the sons of Israel, because you rebelled against My bidding at the waters of Meribah.

³⁷ Moreover Yahweh showed Himself angered with me owing to you, saying:Not even you shall enter there.

²³ I supplicated to Yahweh at that time, saying. ²⁴ My Lord Yahweh, You Yourself have started to show Your servant Your greatness and Your steadfast hand, and Your outstretched arm. For what el is in the heavens or on the earth who could do according to Your deeds and according to Your mastery? ²⁵ Let me cross over, I pray so I may see the good land that is across the Jordan, this good hill-country and the Lebanon. ²⁶ Yet Yahweh was enraged with me on account of you and did not hearken to me. Yahweh said to me:Let it be enough for you! Do not continue to speak to Me further on this matter. ²⁷ Ascend to the summit of the Pisgah ridge, and lift up your eyes westward and northward and southward and eastward and see with your eyes, for you shall not cross over this Jordan.

⁴⁹ Go up to this mount of the Abarim range (Mount Nebo which is in the country of Moab that is overlooking Jericho), and see the land of Canaan that I am giving to the sons of Israel for a holding;" ⁵⁰ and die on the mount where you are going up, and be gathered to your people, just as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people, ⁵¹ because both of you offended Me in the midst of the sons of Israel at the waters of Meribah at Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin, because neither of you hallowed Me in the midst of the sons of Israel.

⁴ Then Yahweh said to him:This is the land about which I had sworn to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, saying, To your seed shall I give it. I have let you see it with your eyes, yet you shall not cross over there.

² `Moses my servant is dead, and now, rise, pass over this Jordan, you, and all this people, unto the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel.

²⁰ And they rise early in the morning, and go out to the wilderness of Tekoa, and in their going out Jehoshaphat has stood and said, `Hear me, O Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem, remain stedfast in Yahweh your Elohim, and be stedfast; remain stedfast in His prophets, and prosper..

⁹ And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If you are not believing, then you are not being faithful."

¹³ Yahweh of hosts--Him shall you sanctify, and He shall be your fear, and He shall be your terror."

⁴¹ With sweet fragrance I do accept you, In My bringing you out from the peoples, And I have assembled you from the lands In which you have been scattered, And I have been sanctified in you Before the eyes of the nations."

²³ And I have sanctified My great name, That is profaned among nations, That you have polluted in your midst, And known have the nations that I [am] Yahweh, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, In My being sanctified in you before your eyes."

¹⁰ Thus said the Lord Yahweh:And it has come to pass in that day, Come up do things on your heart, And you have thought an evil thought,

¹⁷ Now then answering, Jesus said to them, "O generation unbelieving and perverse! Till when shall I be with you? Till when shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me."

²⁰ Now He is saying to them, "Because of your scant faith. For verily I am saying to you, If you should have faith as a kernel of mustard, you shall be declaring to this mountain, 'Proceed hence-there!' and it will be proceeding. And nothing will be impossible for you."

²⁰ And lo! silent shall you be and not able to speak until the day on which these things may be occurring, because you do not believe my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season."

⁴⁵ And happy is she who believes, seeing that there shall be a maturing of that which has been spoken to her by the Lord!"

¹⁷ For the law through Moses was given; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

²⁰ yet the promise of God was not doubted in unbelief, but he was invigorated by faith, giving glory to God,

¹⁵ yet hallow the Lord Christ in your hearts, ever ready with a defense for everyone who is demanding from you an account concerning the expectation in you, but with meekness and fear,

⁷ Hence he called the name of the place Massah and Meribah on account of the contention of the sons of Israel and on account of their probing Yahweh, saying, Is Yahweh among us or is He not?

⁸ About Levi he said:May your Thummim and your Urim be for your benign man whom you probed at Massah; you contended with him at the waters of Meribah,

⁸ You must not be stiffening your heart as in the contention, As in the day of trial in the wilderness,

³² They prompted wrath at the waters of Meribah, And it was evil for Moses for their sake" ³³ Because they provoked his spirit, And he talked rashly with his lips." ³⁴ They did not exterminate the peoples As Yahweh had commanded them. ³⁵ They mixed with the nations, And they learned their customs." ³⁶ They served their fetishes, And these came to be a trap for them." ³⁷ They sacrificed their sons And their daughters to demons; ³⁸ So they shed innocent blood, The blood of their sons and their daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the fetishes of Canaan, And the land was polluted with bloodshed." ³⁹ Thus they defiled themselves by their deeds, And they prostituted themselves by their actions." ⁴⁰ So the anger of Yahweh grew hot against His people, And He abhorred His allotment." ⁴¹ He gave them into the hand of the nations So that those hating them ruled among them. ⁴² Their enemies oppressed them, And they were made to submit under their hand." ⁴³ Many times He rescued them, But they were rebellious in their counsel, And they were reduced lower in their depravity." ⁴⁴ Yet He saw their distress, On His hearing of their appeal, ⁴⁵ And, for them, He remembered His covenant, So that He was merciful according to His many benignities." ⁴⁶ He gave them over to compassions Before all those holding them captive. ⁴⁷ Save us, O Yahweh our Elohim, And convene us from the nations, To acclaim Your holy Name, To triumph in Your praise." ⁴⁸ Blessed be Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, From the eon and until the eon. Then all the people will say, Amen. Praise Yah."

¹⁶ And lofty is Yahweh of hosts in judgment, and holy El is hallowed in righteousness."

¹⁶ And you have come up against My people Israel, As a cloud to cover the land, In the latter end of the days it is, And I have brought you in against My land, In order that the nations may know Me, In My being sanctified in you before their eyes, O Gog."

³ And sending is Jacob messengers before him to Esau, his brother, to the land of Seir, the field of Edom. ⁴ And instructing them is he, saying, "Thus shall you say to my lord, to Esau, `Thus says your servant Jacob: With Laban I sojourn and it delayed me till now.

³¹ And these are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before a king reigned for the sons of Israel. ³² And reigning in Edom is Bela, son of Beor. And the name of his city is Dinhabah. ³³ And Bela died. And reigning in his stead is Jobab, son of Zerah, from Bozrah. ³⁴ And Jobab died. And reigning in his stead is Husham from the land of the Temanites. ³⁵ And Husham died. And reigning in his stead is Hadad, son of Bedad who smote Midian in the field of Moab. And the name of his city is Avith. ³⁶ And Hadad died. And reigning in his stead is Samlah from Masrekah. ³⁷ And Samlah died. And reigning in his stead is Saul from Rehoboth by the stream. ³⁸ And Saul died. And reigning in his stead is Baalhanan, son of Achbor. ³⁹ And Baalhanan, son of Achbor, died. And reigning in his stead is Hadad, son of Bered. And the name of his city is Pau. And the name of his wife is Mehetabel, daughter of Matred, son of Mezahab.

⁸ and Moses related to his father-in-law all that Yahweh had done to Pharaoh and to Egypt concerning Israel, all the suspense which found them along the way and how Yahweh had rescued them.

⁴ and instruct the people saying, You shall pass through the territory of your brothers, the sons of Esau, who are dwelling in Seir. They shall fear you, yet you must be very much on guard. ⁵ Do not stir yourselves up against them, for I shall not give to you any of their country, not even a tread of a foot's sole--for I have given the hill-country of Seir for a tenancy to Esau. ⁶ You shall purchase food from them with silver, that you may eat. Even for water you shall bargain from them with silver, that you may drink. ⁷ For Yahweh your Elohim, He has blessed you in every work of your hand. He knows of your going in this great wilderness. These forty years Yahweh your Elohim has been with you. You have lacked nothing. ⁸ So we passed on away from our brothers, the sons of Esau who are dwelling in Seir, away from the Aravah road, away from Elath and away from Ezion-geber, and turned around and passed on by the Moab wilderness road. ⁹ Then Yahweh said to me:Do not distress Moab and do not stir yourself up against them in battle, for I shall not give to you any of his country as a tenancy, for I gave Ar to the sons of Lot as a tenancy. ¹⁰ (The Emim dwelt in it beforetime, a people great and numerous, and as tall as the Anakim. ¹¹ Like the Anakim, they too were accounted as Rephaim, yet the Moabites called them Emim. ¹² And the Horites dwelt beforetime in Seir, yet the sons of Esau tenanted in their place and exterminated them before their face that they might dwell in their stead, just as Israel did to the land of its tenancy that Yahweh had given to them.. ¹³ Now arise, journey, and you cross over the watercourse of Zered. So we crossed over the watercourse of Zered. ¹⁴ The days that we went from Kadesh-barnea until we crossed over the watercourse of Zered were thirty-eight years, until the entire generation of the men of war had come to end from among the camp, just as Yahweh had sworn concerning them. ¹⁵ And indeed, the hand of Yahweh came to be against them to discomfit them from among the camp, until they had come to end. ¹⁶ It came to be just as all the men of war had come to end, dying from among the people, ¹⁷ that Yahweh spoke to me, saying. ¹⁸ Today you are passing through the territory of Moab at Ar; ¹⁹ then you will come near to the forefront of the sons of Ammon. Do not distress them and do not stir yourself up against them, for I shall not give any of the country of the sons of Ammon to you as a tenancy, since I gave it to the sons of Lot as a tenancy. ²⁰ (It too was accounted as a country of Rephaim. Rephaim dwelt in it beforetime, yet the Ammonites called them Zamzummim, ²¹ a people great and numerous, and as tall as the Anakim. Yet Yahweh exterminated them before their face that they might tenant in their place and dwell in their stead, ²² just as He did for the sons of Esau who were dwelling in Seir, when He exterminated the Horite before their face, and they tenanted in their place and dwelt in their stead until this day. ²³ As for the Avvim who were dwelling in hamlets as far as Gaza, the Caphtorim, who were coming forth from Caphtor, they exterminated them and dwelt in their stead.. ²⁴ Arise, journey, and cross over the watercourse of Arnon. See! I will give into your hand Sihon king of Heshbon, the Amorite, and his country. Start out to tenant it, and struggle with him in battle. ²⁵ This day I shall start to put the awe of you and the fear of you on the face of all peoples beneath the entire heavens; whenever they should hear a report of you, they will be disturbed and in travail before your face.

⁷ You shall not abhor an Edomite, for he is your brother. You shall not abhor an Egyptian, for you became a sojourner in his country.

⁹ And they say unto him, `From a land very far off have your servants come, for the name of Yahweh your Elohim, for we have heard His fame, and all that He has done in Egypt,

¹⁶ for in their coming up out of Egypt, Israel goes in the wilderness unto the Red Sea, and comes in to Kadesh, ¹⁷ and Israel sends messengers unto the king of Edom, saying, Let me pass over, I pray you, through your land, and the king of Edom hearkened not; and also unto the king of Moab has [Israel] sent, and he has not been willing; and Israel abides in Kadesh,

¹⁰ Because of wrong done to your brother Jacob, shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off for the eon." ¹¹ In the day that you stood aloof, in that day aliens captured his army, and foreigners entered his gateways, and over Jerusalem they handled the lot. Moreover, you were as one of them!" ¹² Yet you must not stare in the day of your brother, in the day of his disaster. And you must not rejoice over the sons of Judah, in the day of their destruction. And you must not magnify your mouth, in the day of distress."

² I love you, says Yahweh. Yet you say, In what way do you love us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? (averring is Yahweh), yet I am loving Jacob,

¹³ And saying is He to Abram, "Knowing, yea, knowing are you that a sojourner is your seed to become in a land not theirs, and they are to serve them. Yet evil shall they do to them and humiliate them four hundred years.

⁶ And taking are they their cattle and all their goods which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and coming to Egypt, Jacob and all his seed with him.

¹¹ Hence they placed over them chiefs of labor conscriptions that they might humiliate them with their burdens. So they were building as bulwark cities for Pharaoh, Pithom and Raamses. ¹² Yet just as they were humiliating them so they multiplied and so they breached forth. Hence the Egyptians were irritated in view of the sons of Israel. ¹³ So the Egyptians made the sons of Israel serve with rigor, ¹⁴ and they embittered their lives with hard service in clay and in bricks, and with all service in the field, in addition to all their service which they served among them with rigor.

¹⁶ and said: In your midwifery for the Hebrew women, when you see them on the bracing stones, if it is a son then you will put him to death, and if it is a daughter then she will live.

²² Then Pharaoh instructed all his people, saying: Every son born to the Hebrews, into the waterway shall you fling him, yet every daughter you shall keep alive.

¹⁴ Then the superintendents of the sons of Israel were being smitten, whom Pharaoh's exactors had placed over them, saying: For what reason did you not finish your statutory number of bricks both yesterday and today as you did heretofore?

⁴⁰ Now the dwelling of the sons of Israel and their fathers who dwelt in the land of Canaan and in the land of Egypt was four hundred thirty years.

¹³ Is it a little thing that you brought us up from a land gushing with milk and honey to put us to death in the wilderness, and that you are making yourself a chief, yea a chief over us?

⁶ The Egyptians did evil to us, humiliated us and put hard service on us.

¹⁵ And Jacob descended into Egypt, and he deceases, he and our fathers,

¹⁹ This one, dealing astutely with our race, illtreats the fathers, causing their babes to be exposed that they should not live."

²³ In the course of these many days it came to be that the king of Egypt died. Yet the sons of Israel sighed under the servitude and cried out, and their imploration ascended to the One, Elohim, out of the servitude. ²⁴ Elohim heard their moaning, and Elohim was mindful of His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

² Then the messenger of Yahweh appeared to him in a blaze of fire from the midst of a thornbush. So he stared, and behold, the thornbush was consuming with fire, yet the thornbush, it was not being devoured. ³ Hence Moses said: Let me withdraw, I pray, and discern this great sight, for what reason the thornbush is not being consumed. ⁴ When Yahweh saw that he withdrew to discern, Elohim called to him from the midst of the thornbush and said: Moses! Moses! So he answered: Behold me!" ⁵ Then he said: Do not come near hither! Ease your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing, this is ground of holiness. ⁶ And He said: I am the Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac and the Elohim of Jacob. Now Moses concealed his face, for he feared to look toward the One, Elohim. ⁷ Then Yahweh said: I see, yea see the humiliation of My people who are in Egypt. And I hear their crying because of the presence of their exactors; for I know their pains. ⁸ Hence I have descended to rescue them from the hand of Egypt and to bring them up from that land to a land good and wide, to a land gushing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Girgashite, the Hivite and the Jebusite. ⁹ And now, behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has come to Me, and indeed, I have seen the oppression with which Egypt has been oppressing them.

⁵ Moreover, I Myself have hearkened to the moaning of the sons of Israel whom the Egyptians are making servants. And I am mindful of My covenant.

¹⁰ So Pharaoh, he drew near. Then the sons of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were journeying after them. Now they became exceedingly fearful, and the sons of Israel cried to Yahweh.

¹⁹ Hence the messenger of the One, Elohim, who was going before the camp of Israel, journeyed and went behind them. Also the column of cloud journeyed from before them and stood behind them.

²⁰ Behold, I shall be sending a messenger before you to keep you in the way and to bring you to the place which I have prepared.

² And I will send before you My messenger. I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite.

¹ When the Canaanite king of Arad, dwelling in the Negev, heard that Israel was coming by way of Atharim, he fought against Israel and captured captives from him.

²² Let me pass through your land. We shall not turn aside into field or into vineyard. We shall not drink water of any well. By the king's road shall we go until we cross over your boundary. ²³ Yet Sihon would not allow Israel to cross over at his boundary. Sihon gathered all his people and went forth to meet Israel toward the wilderness. He came to Jahaz and fought against Israel. ²⁴ Yet Israel smote him with the edge of the sword and tenanted his land from the Arnon as far as the Jabbok, as far as the sons of Ammon, for the boundary of the sons of Ammon was Jazer.

¹ Then we turned around and journeyed to the wilderness by the Sea of Weeds road, just as Yahweh had spoken to me; and we were around the hill-country of Seir many days. ² Then Yahweh spoke to me saying: ³ Long enough you have been around this hill-country. Turn yourselves around northward ⁴ and instruct the people saying, You shall pass through the territory of your brothers, the sons of Esau, who are dwelling in Seir. They shall fear you, yet you must be very much on guard.

²⁷ Let me pass through your country along the main road. Only along the main road shall I go. I shall not withdraw to the right or to the left.

²⁹ (just as the sons of Esau who are dwelling in Seir and the Moabites who are dwelling in Ar did for me), until I shall cross over the Jordan to the land that Yahweh our Elohim is giving to us.

³⁸ Moreover a mixed multitude ascended with them, and flocks, herds and cattle, exceedingly heavy.

⁶ You shall purchase food from them with silver, that you may eat. Even for water you shall bargain from them with silver, that you may drink.

²⁸ You may retail to me food for silver that I may eat. And you may give me water for silver that I may drink. But let me pass through on my feet

⁴¹ And a grudge is Esau holding against Jacob on account of the blessing with which his father blesses him. And saying is Esau in his heart, "Approaching are the days of mourning for my father, when I will kill Jacob, my brother.

⁶ And returning are the messengers to Jacob, saying, "We came to your brother, Esau, and, moreover, going is he to meet you, and four hundred men with him.

¹⁸ Yet Edom said to him:You shall not pass through me lest I come forth with the sword to meet you.

¹⁷ and Israel sends messengers unto the king of Edom, saying, Let me pass over, I pray you, through your land, and the king of Edom hearkened not; and also unto the king of Moab has [Israel] sent, and he has not been willing; and Israel abides in Kadesh,

²⁰ and Sihon has not trusted Israel to pass over through his border, and Sihon gathers all his people, and they encamp in Jahaz, and fight with Israel;"

⁷ I am for peace, yet when I speak They are for war."

⁵ Because of your having an enmity eonian, And you do saw the sons of Israel, By the hands of the sword, In the time of their calamity, In the time of the iniquity of the end:" ⁶ Therefore, I live--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, Surely for blood I do appoint you, And blood does pursue you, If blood you have not hated, Blood also does pursue you." ⁷ And I have given mount Seir for a desolation and an astonishment, And have cut off from it him who is passing over and him who is returning, ⁸ And filled his mountains with his wounded, Your hills, and your valleys, and all your streams, The pierced of the sword fall into them." ⁹ Desolations eonian I make you, And your cities do not return, And you have known that I [am] Yahweh." ¹⁰ Because of your saying:The two nations and the two lands are mine, and we have possessed it, And Yahweh has been there;" ¹¹ Therefore, I live--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, And I have done according to your anger, And according to your envy, With which you have wrought, Because of your hatred against them, And I have been known among them when I judge you."

¹¹ Thus says Yahweh, Due to three transgressions of Edom, and due to four, I will not turn it back, due to his pursuing his brother with the sword, since he ruins his own compassions. His anger is preying into the future, and his rage, he keeps it permanently."

¹⁰ Because of wrong done to your brother Jacob, shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off for the eon." ¹¹ In the day that you stood aloof, in that day aliens captured his army, and foreigners entered his gateways, and over Jerusalem they handled the lot. Moreover, you were as one of them!" ¹² Yet you must not stare in the day of your brother, in the day of his disaster. And you must not rejoice over the sons of Judah, in the day of their destruction. And you must not magnify your mouth, in the day of distress." ¹³ You must not enter into the gateway of My people, in the day of their calamity. Moreover, you must not see his evil, in the day of his calamity. And you must not be set to fight against his army, in the day of his calamity." ¹⁴ And you must not stand at the breach to cut off his delivered ones. And you must not enclose his survivors, in the day of distress." ¹⁵ For near is the day of Yahweh over all the nations. Just as you do, it shall be done to you. Your requital shall return on your own head."

⁴ and instruct the people saying, You shall pass through the territory of your brothers, the sons of Esau, who are dwelling in Seir. They shall fear you, yet you must be very much on guard. ⁵ Do not stir yourselves up against them, for I shall not give to you any of their country, not even a tread of a foot's sole--for I have given the hill-country of Seir for a tenancy to Esau. ⁶ You shall purchase food from them with silver, that you may eat. Even for water you shall bargain from them with silver, that you may drink. ⁷ For Yahweh your Elohim, He has blessed you in every work of your hand. He knows of your going in this great wilderness. These forty years Yahweh your Elohim has been with you. You have lacked nothing. ⁸ So we passed on away from our brothers, the sons of Esau who are dwelling in Seir, away from the Aravah road, away from Elath and away from Ezion-geber, and turned around and passed on by the Moab wilderness road.

¹⁸ and he goes through the wilderness, and compasses the land of Edom and the land of Moab, and comes in at the rising of the sun of the land of Moab, and they encamp beyond Arnon, and have not come into the border of Moab, for Arnon [is] the border of Moab.

²⁴ That which Chemosh your elohim causes you to possess--do you not possess it? and all that which Yahweh our Elohim has dispossessed from our presence, --it we do possess.

²⁶ Then they went and came to Moses, Aaron and to the whole congregation of the sons of Israel at the wilderness of Paran, toward Kadesh. They brought back word to them and to the whole congregation and showed them the fruit of the land.

¹ The sons of Israel, the whole congregation, entered the wilderness of Zin in the first month, and the people dwelt at Kadesh. Miriam died there and was entombed there.

¹⁴ Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom:Thus says your brother Israel, You know yourself all the stress which finds u.

⁴ They journeyed from Mount Hor by way of the Sea of Weeds to get around the land of Edom. And the soul of the people was impatient on the way.

³⁶ They journeyed from Ezion-geber and encamped in the wilderness of Zin. They journeyed from the wilderness of Zin and encamped in the wilderness of Paran; it is toward Kadesh. ³⁷ They journeyed from Kadesh and encamped at Mount Hor in the outmost part of the land of Edom. ³⁸ Then Aaron the priest went up onto Mount Hor at the bidding of Yahweh, and he died there in the fortieth year after going forth of the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on day one of the month.

⁷ And this shall be your northern boundary:from the Great Sea you shall mark out your line to Mount Hor;

¹⁹ `And the south quarter southward [is] from Tamar unto the waters of Meriboth-Kadesh, the stream unto the great sea:and [this is] the south quarter southward."

²⁸ and by the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border has been from Tamar [to] the waters of Meriboth-Kadesh, the stream by the great sea."

³⁷ They journeyed from Kadesh and encamped at Mount Hor in the outmost part of the land of Edom.

¹⁵ Yet you shall come to your forefathers in peace, and be entombed at a good grey-haired age.

⁸ And expiring is Abraham, and dying in a good grey-haired age, old and satisfied with days. And gathered is he to his people.

¹⁷ And these are the years of the life of Ishmael: a hundred and thirty seven years. And expiring is he, and died, and is gathered to his people.

²⁹ And expiring is Isaac, and he died, and is gathered to his people, old and satisfied with days. And entombing him are Esau and Jacob, his sons.

²⁹ And instructing them is he, and saying to them, "I am being gathered to my people. Entomb me with my forefathers in the cave which is in the field of Ephron, the Hittite,

³³ And finishing is Jacob instructing his sons, and gathering is he his feet into the couch and is expiring, and is being gathered to his people.

²⁷ At the bidding of Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershonite, for all their load and for all their service. And you will commit to them as a charge all of their load.

¹⁰ Moses and Aaron assembled the assembly before the crag, and he said to them:Hear, I pray, you rebels! From this crag shall we bring forth water for you? ¹¹ When Moses raised up his hand and smote the crag with his rod twice, then much water came forth, and the congregation and their livestock drank. ¹² Yet Yahweh said to Moses and to Aaron:Because you did not believe in Me to sanctify Me before the eyes of the sons of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I will give to them.

¹³ When you have seen it you will be gathered to your people, you too, just as Aaron your brother was gathered.

² Avenge the sons of Israel with vengeance on the Midianites; and afterward you shall be gathered to your people.

⁵⁰ and die on the mount where you are going up, and be gathered to your people, just as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people,

¹⁰ and also all that generation have been gathered unto their fathers, and another generation rises after them who have not known Yahweh, and even the work which He has done to Israel.

²⁸ Lo, I am gathering you unto your fathers, and you have been gathered unto your graves in peace, and your eyes do not look on all the evil that I am bringing upon this place, and upon its inhabitants;' and they bring the king back word.

³⁸ Then Aaron the priest went up onto Mount Hor at the bidding of Yahweh, and he died there in the fortieth year after going forth of the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on day one of the month. ³⁹ Aaron was a hundred twenty-three years old at his death on Mount Hor.

²⁹ The holy garments which are Aaron's shall become his sons' after him, to be anointed in them and to fill their hands in them. ³⁰ Seven days one of his sons, whoever is priest in his stead, he who comes into the tent of appointment to minister in the holy place, shall put them on.

²¹ and I clothe him with your tunic, and with your sash I will make him fast. And your rule and your station will I give into his hand. And he becomes a father to the dwellers of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. And I give him the glory of David, and he will be chief with no contender." ²² And I bestow the key of the house of David on his shoulder. And he opens, and there is no locking, and he locks, and there is no opening."

¹¹ If, indeed, then, perfection were through the Levitical priesthood (for the people have been placed under law with it), what need is there still for a different priest to arise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not said to be according to the order of Aaron?

²³ And these indeed, are more than one, having become priests because death prevents them from abiding;" ²⁴ yet that One, because of His remaining for the eon, has an inviolate priesthood."

²⁶ Strip Aaron of his garments and put them on Eleazar his son. As for Aaron, he shall be gathered and will die there.

¹⁶ May Yahweh Elohim of the spirits for all flesh give supervision over the congregation to a man ¹⁷ who may go forth before them and enter before them, and who may bring them forth and bring them in so that the congregation of Yahweh shall not become like a flock for whom there is no shepherd. ¹⁸ Yahweh said to Moses:Take to you Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom there is spirit, and support your hands on him;" ¹⁹ have him stand before Eleazar the priest and before the whole congregation and instruct him before their eyes. ²⁰ Put some of your prestige on him so that the whole congregation of the sons of Israel may hearken to him. ²¹ And before Eleazar the priest shall he stand, and he will ask for him the judgment of the Urim before Yahweh. At his bidding shall they go forth and at his bidding they shall enter, he and all the sons of Israel with him, the whole congregation. ²² Moses did just as Yahweh had instructed him. He took Joshua and had him stand him before Eleazar the priest and before the whole congregation. ²³ Then he supported his hands on him and instructed him, just as Yahweh had spoken by means of Moses.

³⁸ Then Aaron the priest went up onto Mount Hor at the bidding of Yahweh, and he died there in the fortieth year after going forth of the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on day one of the month. ³⁹ Aaron was a hundred twenty-three years old at his death on Mount Hor. ⁴⁰ Then the Canaanite king of Arad, he who was dwelling in the Negev in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the sons of Israel. ⁴¹ They journeyed from Mount Hor and encamped at Zalmonah. ⁴² They journeyed from Zalmonah and encamped at Punon. ⁴³ They journeyed from Punon and encamped in Oboth. ⁴⁴ They journeyed from Oboth and encamped at Iyim of the Abarim at the boundary of Moab. ⁴⁵ They journeyed from Iyim and encamped at Dibon-gad. ⁴⁶ They journeyed from Dibon-gad and encamped at Almon-diblathaim. ⁴⁷ They journeyed from Almon-diblathaim and encamped in the mountains of the Abarim before Nebo. ⁴⁸ They journeyed from the mountains of Abarim and encamped in the plains of Moab along the Jordan across from Jericho. ⁴⁹ They encamped along the Jordan from Beth-Jesimoth as far as Abel-Shittim in the plains of Moab.

⁶ (The sons of Israel journeyed from the wells of Bene-jaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died, and he was entombed there; and Eleazar his son served as priest in his stead.

⁷ Moses called to Joshua and said to him before the eyes of all Israel:Be steadfast and be resolute, for you shall bring this people into the land about which Yahweh had sworn to their fathers to give to them, and you shall allot it to them. ⁸ As for Yahweh, He is the One going before you; He Himself shall come to be with you. He shall neither neglect you nor forsake you. You shall neither fear nor be dismayed.

⁴⁹ Go up to this mount of the Abarim range (Mount Nebo which is in the country of Moab that is overlooking Jericho), and see the land of Canaan that I am giving to the sons of Israel for a holding;" ⁵⁰ and die on the mount where you are going up, and be gathered to your people, just as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people,

⁵ Moses, the servant of Yahweh, died there in the country of Moab at the bidding of Yahweh.

⁹ Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had supported his hands on him. And the sons of Israel hearkened to him and did just as Yahweh had instructed Moses.

¹¹ `Now, my son, Yahweh is with you, and you have prospered, and have built the house of Yahweh your Elohim, as He spoke concerning you. ¹² Only, Yahweh give to you wisdom and understanding, and charge you concerning Israel, even to keep the law of Yahweh your Elohim;"

¹⁷ And David gives charge to all heads of Israel to give help to Solomon his son,

⁵ and out of all my sons--for many sons has Yahweh given to me--He also fixes on Solomon my son, to sit on the throne of the kingdom of Yahweh over Israel, ⁶ and said to me, Solomon your son, he does build My house, and My courts, for I have fixed on him to Me for a son, and I--I am to him for a father, ⁷ and I have established his kingdom to the eon, if he is strong to do My commands, and My judgments, as at this day. ⁸ `And now, before the eyes of all Israel, the assembly of Yahweh, and in the ears of our Elohim, keep and seek all the commands of Yahweh your Elohim, so that you possess this good land, and have caused your sons to inherit after you unto the eon. <sup>9</sup> `And you, Solomon, my son, know the Elohim of your father, and serve Him with a perfect heart, and with a willing mind, for all hearts is Yahweh seeking, and every imagination of the thoughts He is understanding; if you do seek Him, He is found of you, and if you do forsake Him, He casts you off for ever.

²⁵ And now, lo! I am aware that you all, among whom I passed through heralding the kingdom, shall be seeing my face no longer." ²⁶ Wherefore I am attesting to you in this very day that I am clear from the blood of all, ²⁷ for under no circumstances do I shrink from informing you of the entire counsel of God. ²⁸ Take heed to yourselves and to the entire flocklet, among which the holy spirit appointed you supervisors, to be shepherding the ecclesia of God, which He procures through the blood of His Own." ²⁹ Now I am aware that, after I am out of reach, burdensome wolves will be entering among you, not sparing the flocklet."

²⁴ yet that One, because of His remaining for the eon, has an inviolate priesthood." ²⁵ Whence, also, He is able to save to the uttermost those coming to God through Him, always being alive to be pleading for their sake."

¹⁵ Yet I shall endeavor to have you, after my exodus, to make mention of these things, ever and anon, also."

¹⁰ And calling is the Elohim the dry part "land" [or "earth"] and the confluence of the water He calls "seas. "And seeing is the Elohim that it is good.

⁸ The sons of Israel lamented for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days; then the days of lamentation, the mourning for Moses, came to an end.

²⁴ And his servants remove him from the chariot, and cause him to ride on the second chariot that he has, and cause him to go to Jerusalem, and he dies, and is buried in the graves of his fathers, and all Judah and Jerusalem are mourning for Josiah, ²⁵ and Jeremiah laments for Josiah, and all the singers and the songstresses speak in their lamentations of Josiah unto this day, and set them for a statute on Israel, and lo, they are written beside the lamentations.

² Yet pious men are Stephen's pallbearers, and they make a great grieving over him."
