¹⁵ And Moses said to them:You have kept every female alive?

³⁴ We seized all his cities at that time, and we doomed every city--adult males, women and little ones--we let not one survivor remain.

¹³ When Yahweh your Elohim delivers it into your hand, then you will smite every adult male of it with the edge of the sword;"

¹⁶ But in the cities of these peoples which Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you as an allotment you shall not keep alive anything that has breath, ¹⁷ for you shall doom, yea doom them, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Girgashite, the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite, just as Yahweh your Elohim had instructed you, ¹⁸ that they may not teach you to act according to all their abhorrences which they do for their elohim so that you might sin against Yahweh your Elohim.

²¹ and they devote all that [is] in the city, from man even unto woman, from young even unto aged, even unto ox, and sheep, and ass, by the mouth of the sword.

²⁵ and all who fall during the day, of men and of women, are twelve thousand--all men of Ai.

⁴⁰ And Joshua smites all the land of the hill-country, and of the south, and of the low-country, and of the springs, and all their kings--he has not left a remnant, and all that does breathe he has devoted, as Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, commanded.

¹⁴ and all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, have the sons of Israel spoiled for themselves; only, every human being they have smitten by the mouth of the sword, till their destroying them; they have not left any one breathing.

³ Now, go, and you have smitten Amalek, and devoted all that it has, and you have no pity on it, and have put to death from man unto woman, from infant unto suckling, from ox unto sheep, from camel unto ass..
