⁹ Here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains where the woman is sitting on them,

⁴ Now you Daniel, stop up the words and seal the scroll till the era of the end, when many will swerve as evil will increase."

⁸ I hear, yet I am not understanding. Hence I am saying, "My lord, what is there after these things? ⁹ Then he is saying, "Go, Daniel, for stopped up and sealed are the words till the era of the end." ¹⁰ Many will purify and whiten themselves and be refined; yet the wicked will be wicked. None of all the wicked shall understand; yet the intelligent are understanding.

⁹ He who is wise will also understand these things. These being understood, he will also acknowledge them. For the ways of Yahweh are upright, and the righteous will walk in them. Yet the transgressors shall be stumbled in them."

¹¹ Now, answering, He said to them that "To you has it been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of the heavens, yet to those it has not been given."

¹⁵ Whenever, then, you may be perceiving the abomination of desolation, which is declared through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him who is reading apprehend!);"

¹ And it was standing on the sand of the sea. And I perceived a wild beast ascending out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on its horns ten diadems, and on its heads blasphemous names."

¹⁸ Here is wisdom. Let him who has a mind calculate the number of the wild beast, for it is the number of mankind, and its number is six hundred sixty-six."

³ And he carries me away, in spirit, into a wilderness. And I perceived a woman sitting on a scarlet wild beast replete with names of blasphemy, and having seven heads and ten horns."

⁷ And the messenger said to me, "Wherefore do you marvel? I shall be declaring to you the secret of the woman and of the wild beast which is bearing her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns."

¹⁸ And the woman whom you perceived is the great city which has a kingdom over the kings of the earth."
