⁵ What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord assigned to each one.

¹⁵ To one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.

² just as they were delivered to us by those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word,

²⁷ John answered, "A man can receive only what is given to him from heaven.

¹⁴ How then can they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without a preacher? ¹⁵ And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach good news!"

³ For by the grace given to me I say to every one among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith which God has assigned him. ⁴ For as in one body we have many members, and all the members do not have the same function, ⁵ so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. ⁶ Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;

⁷ So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.

¹⁰ According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it.

¹ This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. ² Moreover it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy.

¹⁷ For if I do this voluntarily, I have a reward; but if it is not of my will, I have a stewardship entrusted to me.

⁴ Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. ⁵ And there are varieties of service, but the same Lord. ⁶ There are varieties of working, but the same God who works all of them in all men. ⁷ But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. ⁸ To one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit, ⁹ to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, ¹⁰ and to another the working of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another distinguishing between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. ¹¹ But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as he wills.

²⁸ And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, then those having gifts of healings, helps, administrations, and those speaking in various kinds of tongues.

³ You show that you are a letter from Christ, delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of carnal hearts.

⁶ who has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

⁵ For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.

⁷ But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

¹ Working together with him, then, we urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

⁴ But as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: through great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, distresses,

²³ Are they servants of Christ? I am a better oneI am talking like a madmanin far more labors, in far more imprisonments, with more beatings, and often in danger of death.

⁷ Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God's grace which was given me by the working of his power.

²⁵ Of this church I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known,

¹⁰ As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of God's varied grace.
