³⁰ The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,

²⁰ For since the creation of the world his invisible nature, even his eternal power and deity, has been clearly seen, being understood by the things that have been made. So they are without excuse;

¹ Therefore you have no excuse, O man, whoever you are who judge another; for in whatever point you pass judgment on him you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, are doing the very same things.

¹⁴ But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumph, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. ¹⁵ For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, ¹⁶ to the one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. And who is sufficient for these things?

⁴ For it is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, ⁵ and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, ⁶ and then have fallen away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put him to an open shame. ⁷ For land which drinks the rain that often falls upon it, and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. ⁸ But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed; its end is to be burned.

¹⁷ Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.

¹⁶ Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a covering for evil; live as servants of God.
