⁴ But I have told you these things, that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you of them. "I did not say these things to you at the beginning, because I was with you.

¹⁵ And Jesus said to them, "Can the guests of the bridegroom mourn as long as he is with them? The days will come, when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.

⁷ And preach as you go, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.'

²⁵ See, I have told you beforehand.

¹⁹ And Jesus said to them, "Can the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.

²³ But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.

¹² But before all this, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. And you will be brought before kings and governors for my name's sake. ¹³ This will turn into an opportunity for you to bear testimony.

¹⁹ Now I tell you before it comes, that when it does take place, you may believe that I am he.

¹² While I was with them, I kept them in your name the name you gave me. I have guarded them, and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. ¹³ But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

¹⁶ for I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name."

²³ except that the Holy Spirit solemnly testifies to me in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions await me. ²⁴ But I do not consider my life of any account nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
