⁵ But they were urgent, saying, "He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, from Galilee to this place."

¹² Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he withdrew to Galilee. ¹³ And leaving Nazareth, he went and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali, ¹⁴ that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: ¹⁵ "The land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the way to the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles ¹⁶ the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and on those who sat in the region and shadow of death light has dawned."

¹⁴ Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of God,

¹⁴ Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of him went out through all the surrounding country. ¹⁵ And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.

⁵³ As he went away from there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to press him hard, and to provoke him to speak of many things,

³⁷ You know what has happened throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism which John preached:

¹⁰ The dispute became so violent that the commander was afraid Paul would be torn to pieces by them and ordered the troops to go down and take him away from them by force, and bring him into the barracks.
