²⁷ Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his span of life? ²⁸ And why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin,

³¹ Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'

³⁴ Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

¹⁹ But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say; for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour;

²² Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, but the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.

¹¹ Now when they bring you before the synagogues and rulers and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you are to say;

Of how much more value are you than the birds! ²⁵ And which of you by worrying can add a single cubit to his span of life? ²⁶ If you then are not able to do this very little thing, why are you anxious about the rest? ²⁷ Consider the lilies, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. ²⁸ But if God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! ²⁹ And do not seek what you will eat or what you will drink, nor have an anxious mind. ³⁰ For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. ³¹ But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

³² He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all, how will he not also give us all things with him?

³² But I want you to be free from concern. One who is unmarried is concerned about the affairs of the Lord, how he may please the Lord;

⁶ Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

⁴ No soldier in active service gets entangled in civilian affairs, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.

⁵ Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for God has said, "I will never leave you, nor will I forsake you." ⁶ So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"

⁷ Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.
