³ For thou didst cast me into the depth, into the heart of the seas, And the flood was round about me: All thy breakers and thy billows are gone over me.

⁷ Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy cataracts; all thy breakers and thy billows are gone over me.

¹ {To the chief Musician. Upon Shoshannim. [A Psalm] of David.} Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto [my] soul. ² I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing; I am come into the depths of waters, and the flood overfloweth me.

¹⁴ Deliver me out of the mire, let me not sink; let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the depths of waters. ¹⁵ Let not the flood of waters overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up; and let not the pit shut its mouth upon me.

⁵ Prostrate among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave; whom thou rememberest no more, and who are cut off from thy hand. ⁶ Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in dark places, in the deeps. ⁷ Thy fury lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted [me] with all thy waves. Selah. ⁸ Thou hast put my familiar friends far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.

⁵⁴ Waters streamed over my head; I said, I am cut off.

¹² And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that because of me this great tempest is upon you. ¹³ But the men rowed hard to regain the land; but they could not; for the sea grew more and more tempestuous against them. ¹⁴ And they cried unto Jehovah and said, Ah, Jehovah, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man`s life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, Jehovah, hast done as it pleased thee. ¹⁵ And they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from its raging. ¹⁶ And the men feared Jehovah exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto Jehovah, and made vows.
