²⁵ And when the disciples heard [it] they were exceedingly astonished, saying, Who then can be saved?

²² and if those days had not been cut short, no flesh had been saved; but on account of the elect those days shall be cut short.

²⁰ and if [the] Lord had not cut short those days, no flesh should have been saved; but on account of the elect whom he has chosen, he has cut short those days.

²³ And one said to him, Sir, [are] such as are to be saved few in number? But he said unto them, ²⁴ Strive with earnestness to enter in through the narrow door, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter in and will not be able.

¹³ For every one whosoever, who shall call on the name of the Lord, shall be saved.

⁵ Thus, then, in the present time also there has been a remnant according to election of grace. ⁶ But if by grace, no longer of works: since [otherwise] grace is no more grace. ⁷ What [is it] then?
