¹⁹ But I hope in [the] Lord Jesus to send Timotheus to you shortly, that *I* also may be refreshed, knowing how ye get on.

⁵ Thus saith Jehovah: Cursed is the man that confideth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from Jehovah.

²¹ and on his name shall [the] nations hope.

¹² And again, Esaias says, There shall be the root of Jesse, and one that arises, to rule over [the] nations: in him shall [the] nations hope.

²¹ Timotheus, my fellow-workman, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you.

¹⁷ For this reason I have sent to you Timotheus, who is my beloved and faithful child in [the] Lord, who shall put you in mind of my ways [as] they [are] in Christ, according as I teach everywhere in every assembly.

¹³ in whom *ye* also [have trusted], having heard the word of the truth, the glad tidings of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, ye have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

²¹ But in order that *ye* also may know what concerns me, how I am getting on, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in [the] Lord, shall make all things known to you; ²² whom I have sent to you for this very thing, that ye may know of our affairs and that he may encourage your hearts.

¹ Paul and Timotheus, bondmen of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with [the] overseers and ministers;

²³ Him therefore I hope to send immediately, as soon as I shall see how it goes with me: ²⁴ but I trust in [the] Lord that I myself also shall soon come; ²⁵ but I have thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow-workman and fellow-soldier, but your messenger and minister to my need,

²⁸ I have sent him therefore the more diligently, that seeing him ye might again rejoice, and that *I* might be the less sorrowful.

⁸ whom I have sent to you for this very purpose, that he might know your state, and that he might encourage your hearts: ⁹ with Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is [one] of you. They shall make known to you everything here.

² and sent Timotheus, our brother and fellow-workman under God in the glad tidings of Christ, to confirm you and encourage [you] concerning your faith,

⁶ But Timotheus having just come to us from you, and brought to us the glad tidings of your faith and love, and that ye have always good remembrance of us, desiring much to see us, even as we also you; ⁷ for this reason we have been comforted in you, brethren, in all our distress and tribulation, through your faith, ⁸ because now we live if *ye* stand firm in [the] Lord.

³ We ought to thank God always for you, brethren, even as it is meet, because your faith increases exceedingly, and the love of each one of you all towards one another abounds;

¹² For which cause also I suffer these things; but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep for that day the deposit I have entrusted to him.

⁵ hearing of thy love and the faith which thou hast towards the Lord Jesus, and towards all the saints, ⁶ in such sort that thy participation in the faith should become operative in the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in us towards Christ [Jesus]. ⁷ For we have great thankfulness and encouragement through thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.

¹⁵ instead of your saying, If the Lord should [so] will and we should live, we will also do this or that.

²¹ who by him do believe on God, who has raised him from among [the] dead and given him glory, that your faith and hope should be in God.

³ For I rejoiced exceedingly when [the] brethren came and bore testimony to thy [holding fast the] truth, even as *thou* walkest in truth. ⁴ I have no greater joy than these things that I hear of my children walking in the truth.
