³³ -- A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest!

⁴ Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids: ⁵ deliver thyself as a gazelle from the hand [of the hunter], and as a bird from the hand of the fowler. ⁶ Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways and be wise: ⁷ which having no chief, overseer, or ruler, ⁸ provideth her bread in the summer, [and] gathereth her food in the harvest. ⁹ How long, sluggard, wilt thou lie down? When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? ¹⁰ A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest! ¹¹ So shall thy poverty come as a roving plunderer, and thy penury as an armed man.

¹¹ This also, knowing the time, that it is already time that *we* should be aroused out of sleep; for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed.

¹⁴ Wherefore he says, Wake up, [thou] that sleepest, and arise up from among the dead, and the Christ shall shine upon thee.

⁶ So then do not let us sleep as the rest do, but let us watch and be sober; ⁷ for they that sleep sleep by night, and they that drink drink by night; ⁸ but *we* being of [the] day, let us be sober, putting on [the] breastplate of faith and love, and as helmet [the] hope of salvation;
