⁶ Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto the bitter of soul:

¹⁰ and she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to Jehovah, and wept much.

⁶ And David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him; for the soul of all the people was embittered, every man because of his sons and because of his daughters; but David strengthened himself in Jehovah his God.

²⁷ And she came to the man of God to the mountain, and caught him by the feet; and Gehazi drew near to thrust her away; but the man of God said, Let her alone, for her soul is troubled within her, and Jehovah has hidden it from me, and has not told me.

²⁰ Wherefore is light given to him that is in trouble, and life to those bitter of soul,

¹³ The blessing of him that was perishing came upon me, and I caused the widow`s heart to sing for joy.

¹⁵ And wine which gladdeneth the heart of man; making [his] face shine with oil; and with bread he strengtheneth man`s heart.

²³ Drink no longer only water, but use a little wine on account of thy stomach and thy frequent illnesses.
