⁹ Wherein I labour even unto bands, as an evildoer. But the word of God is not bound.

¹⁶ For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.

³¹ Preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, without prohibition.

¹ For this cause, I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ, for you Gentiles:

¹⁹ And for me, that speech may be given me, that I may open my mouth with confidence, to make known the mystery of the gospel, ²⁰ For which I am an ambassador in a chain: so that therein I may be bold to speak according as I ought.

⁷ As it is meet for me to think this for you all, for that I have you in my heart; and that, in my bands and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers of my joy.

¹² Now, brethren, I desire you should know that the things which have happened to me have fallen out rather to the furtherance of the gospel: ¹³ So that my bands are made manifest in Christ, in all the court and in all other places. ¹⁴ And many of the brethren in the Lord, growing confident by my bands, are much more bold to speak the word of God without fear.

³ Praying withal for us also, that God may open unto us a door of speech to speak the mystery of Christ (for which also I am bound):

¹⁸ The salutation of Paul with my own hand. Be mindful of my bands. Grace be with you. Amen.

¹ For the rest, brethren, pray for us that the word of God may run and may be glorified, even as among you:

⁸ Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but labour with the gospel, according to the power of God.

¹² For which cause, I also suffer these things: but I am not ashamed. For I know whom I have believed and I am certain that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him, against that day.

¹⁶ The Lord give mercy to the house of Onesiphorus: because he hath often refreshed me and hath not been ashamed of my chain:

¹⁷ But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, that by me the preaching may be accomplished and that all the Gentiles may hear. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

¹² Having your conversation good among the Gentiles: that whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by the good works which they shall behold in you, glorify God in the day of visitation.

¹⁴ Or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of the good.

¹⁶ But with modesty and fear, having a good conscience: that whereas they speak evil of you, they may be ashamed who falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

¹⁵ But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or a railer or coveter of other men's things.
