¹⁹ And not holding the head, from which the whole body, by joints and bands, being supplied with nourishment and compacted, groweth into the increase of God.

⁹ He hath stripped me of my glory, and hath taken the crown from my head. ¹⁰ He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am lost, and he hath taken away my hope, as from a tree that is plucked up. ¹¹ His wrath is kindled against me, and he hath counted me as his enemy. ¹² His troops have come together, and have made themselves a way by me, and have besieged my tabernacle round about.

¹⁵ My bone is not hidden from thee, which thou hast made in secret: and my substance in the lower parts of the earth. ¹⁶ Thy eyes did see my imperfect being, and in thy book all shall be written: days shall be formed, and no one in them.

⁴ Abide in me: and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abide in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in me. ⁵ I am the vine: you the branches. He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing. ⁶ If any one abide not in me, he shall be cast forth as a branch and shall wither: and they shall gather him up and cast him into the fire: and he burneth.

²¹ That they all may be one, as thou, Father, in me, and I in thee; that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

³² And the multitude of believers had but one heart and one soul. Neither did any one say that aught of the things which he possessed was his own: but all things were common unto them.

¹⁷ And if some of the branches be broken and thou, being a wild olive, art ingrafted in them and art made partaker of the root and of the fatness of the olive tree:

⁴ For as in one body we have many members, but all the members have not the same office: ⁵ So we, being many, are one body in Christ; and every one members one of another:

¹⁰ Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no schisms among you: but that you be perfect in the same mind and in the same judgment.

⁶ I have planted, Apollo watered: but God gave the increase.

¹⁶ The chalice of benediction which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? And the bread which we break, is it not the partaking of the body of the Lord? ¹⁷ For we, being many, are one bread, one body: all that partake of one bread.

¹² For as the body is one and hath many members; and all the members of the body, whereas they are many, yet are one body: So also is Christ. ¹³ For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether bond or free: and in one Spirit we have all been made to drink. ¹⁴ For the body also is not one member, but many. ¹⁵ If the foot should say: Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body: Is it therefore not of the Body? ¹⁶ And if the ear should say: Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body: Is it therefore not of the body? ¹⁷ If the whole body were the eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? ¹⁸ But now God hath set the members, every one of them, in the body as it hath pleased him. ¹⁹ And if they all were one member, where would be the body? ²⁰ But now there are many members indeed, yet one body. ²¹ And the eye cannot say to the hand: I need not thy help. Nor again the head to the feet: I have no need of you. ²² Yea, much, more those that seem to be the more feeble members of the body are more necessary ²³ And such as we think to be the less houourable members of the body, about these we put more abundant honour: and those that are our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. ²⁴ But our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, giving to that which wanted the more abundant honour. ²⁵ That there might be no schism in the body: but the members might be mutually careful one for another. ²⁶ And if one member suffer any thing, all the members suffer with it: or if one member glory, all the members rejoice with it. ²⁷ Now you are the body of Christ and members of member.

⁶ I wonder that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, unto another gospel. ⁷ Which is not another: only there are some that trouble you and would pervert the gospel of Christ. ⁸ But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema. ⁹ As we said before, so now I say again: If any one preach to you a gospel, besides that which you have received, let him be anathema.

² Behold, I Paul tell you, that if you be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. ³ And I testify again to every man circumcising himself that he is a debtor to do the whole law. ⁴ You are made void of Christ, you who are justified in the law: you are fallen from grace.

²² And he hath subjected all things under his feet and hath made him head over all the church,

³ Careful to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

¹⁵ But doing the truth in charity, we may in all things grow up in him who is the head, even Christ: ¹⁶ From whom the whole body, being compacted and fitly joined together, by what every joint supplieth, according to the operation in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body, unto the edifying of itself in charity.

²⁹ For no man ever hated his own flesh, but nourisheth and cherisheth it, as also Christ doth the church:

²⁷ Only let your conversation be worthy of the gospel of Christ: that, whether I come and see you, or, being absent, may hear of you, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind labouring together for the faith of the gospel.

² Fulfil ye my joy, that you be of one mind, having the same charity, being of one accord, agreeing in sentiment. ³ Let nothing be done through contention: neither by vain glory. But in humility, let each esteem others better than themselves: ⁴ Each one not considering the things that are his own, but those that are other men's. ⁵ For let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

¹⁰ That you may walk worthy of God, in all things pleasing; being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God:

¹⁸ And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he may hold the primacy:

² That their hearts may be comforted, being instructed in charity and unto all riches of fulness of understanding, unto the knowledge of the mystery of God the Father and of Christ Jesus:

⁶ As therefore you have received Jesus Christ the Lord, walk ye in him: ⁷ Rooted and built up in him and confirmed in the faith, as also you have learned: abounding in him in thanksgiving. ⁸ Beware lest any man cheat you by philosophy and vain deceit: according to the tradition of men according to the elements of the world and not according to Christ. ⁹ For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead corporeally.

¹² And may the Lord multiply you and make you abound in charity towards one another and towards all men: as we do also towards you,

¹⁰ For indeed you do it towards all the brethren in all Macedonia. But we entreat you, brethren, that you abound more:

³ We are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith groweth exceedingly and the charity of every one of you towards each other aboundeth.

⁴ Who will have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. ⁵ For there is one God: and one mediator of God and men, the man Christ Jesus: ⁶ Who gave himself a redemption for all, a testimony in due times.

⁸ And in fine, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, being lovers of the brotherhood, merciful, modest, humble:

¹⁸ But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and unto the day of eternity, Amen.
