¹⁷ For behold our God, whom we worship, is able to save us from the furnace of burning fire, and to deliver us out of thy hands, O king.

⁵ The Lord is thy keeper, the Lord is thy protection upon thy right hand. ⁶ The sun shall not burn thee by day: nor the moon by night. ⁷ The Lord keepeth thee from all evil: may the Lord keep thy soul.

² Behold, God is my saviour, I will deal confidently, and will not fear: because the Lord is my strength, and my praise, and he is become my salvation.

³ The old error is passed away: thou wilt keep peace: peace, because we have hoped in thee. ⁴ You have hoped in the Lord for evermore, in the Lord God mighty for ever.

¹⁴ And thou shalt be founded in justice: depart far from oppression, for thou shalt not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near thee.

⁸ Be not afraid at their presence: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.

^{35 (4:32)} And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing before him: for he doth according to his will, as well with the powers of heaven, as among the inhabitants of the earth: and there is none that can resist his hand, and say to him: Why hast thou done it?

²⁰ And coming near to the den, cried with a lamentable voice to Daniel, and said to him: Daniel, servant of the living God, hath thy God, whom thou servest always, been able, thinkest thou, to deliver thee from the lions? ²¹ And Daniel answering the king, said: O king, live for ever: ²² My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut up the mouths of the lions, and they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him justice hath been found in me: yea, and before thee, O king, I have done no offence.

²⁷ He is the deliverer, and saviour, doing signs and wonders in heaven, and in earth: who hath delivered Daniel out of the lions' den.

³⁷ Because no word shall be impossible with God.

²⁴ But I fear none of these things, neither do I count my life more precious than myself, so that I may consummate my course and the ministry of the word which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

¹³ Then Paul answered and said: What do you mean, weeping and afflicting my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but to die also in Jerusalem, for the name of the Lord Jesus.

²⁰ And when neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and no small storms lay on us, all hope of our being saved was now taken away. ²¹ And after they had fasted a long time, Paul standing forth in the midst of them, said: You should indeed, O ye men, have hearkened unto me and not have loosed from Crete and have gained this harm and loss. ²² And now I exhort you to be of good cheer. For there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but only of the ship. ²³ For an angel of God, whose I am and whom I serve, stood by me this night, ²⁴ Saying: Fear not, Paul, thou must be brought before Caesar; and behold, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. ²⁵ Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall so be, as it hath been told me.

³¹ What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who is against us?

²⁵ Whereby he is able also to save for ever them that come to God by him; always living to make intercession for us.
