⁵ That all flesh may know that I the Lord have drawn my sword out of its sheath not to be turned back.

²¹ As I live: and the whole earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord. ²² But yet all the men that have seen my majesty, and the signs that I have done in Egypt, and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now ten times, and have not obeyed my voice, ²³ Shall not see the land for which I swore to their fathers, neither shall any one of them that hath detracted me behold it.

²⁴ And all the nations shall say: Why hath the Lord done thus to this land? what meaneth this exceeding great heat of his wrath? ²⁵ And they shall answer: Because they forsook the covenant of the Lord, which he made with their fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt: ²⁶ And they have served strange gods, and adored them, whom they knew not, and for whom they had not been assigned: ²⁷ Therefore the wrath of the Lord was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this volume: ²⁸ And he hath cast them out of their land, in anger and in wrath, and in very great indignation, and hath thrown them into a strange land, as it is seen this day.

¹² In that day I will raise up against Heli all the things I have spoken concerning his house: I will begin, and I will make an end.

⁷ I will take away Israel from the face of the land which I have given them; and the temple which I have sanctified to my name, I will cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb, and a byword among all people. ⁸ And this house shall be made an example of: every one that shall pass by it, shall be astonished, and shall hiss, and say: Why hath the Lord done thus to this land, and to this house? ⁹ And they shall answer: Because they forsook the Lord their God, who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and followed strange gods, and adored them, and worshipped them: therefore hath the Lord brought upon them all this evil.

²³ I have sworn by myself, the word of justice shall go out of my mouth, and shall not return: ^(45:24) For every knee shall be bowed to me, and every tongue shall swear.

¹¹ So shall my word be, which shall go forth from my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall do whatsoever I please, and shall prosper in the things for which I sent it.

²⁰ The wrath of the Lord shall not return till he execute it, and till he accomplish the thought of his heart: in the latter days you shall understand his counsel.

⁴⁸ And all flesh shall see, that I the Lord have kindled it, and it shall not be quenched.

³⁰ Return into thy sheath. I will judge thee in the place wherein thou wast created, in the land of thy nativity.

⁹ What do ye devise against the Lord? he will make an utter end: there shall not rise a double affliction.
