⁸ And in the way of thy judgments, O Lord, we have patiently waited for thee: thy name, and thy remembrance are the desire of the soul.

¹⁵ And God said again to Moses: Thus shalt thou say to the children of Israel: The Lord God of your fathers the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob hath sent me to you; this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

¹³ These are the commandments and judgment, which the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses to the children of Israel, in the plains of Moab upon the Jordan over against Jericho.

⁵ Neither is my house so great with God, that he should make with me an eternal covenant, firm in all things and assured. For he is all my salvation, and all my will: neither is there ought thereof that springeth not up.

Envy not the man who prospereth in his way; the man who doth unjust things.

⁸ I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if you find my beloved, that you tell him that I languish with love.

⁴ And you shall say in that day: Praise ye the Lord, and call upon his name: make his works known among the people: remember that his name is high.

⁹ And they shall say in that day: Lo, this is our God, we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord, we have patiently waited for him, we shall rejoice and be joyful in his salvation.

¹⁸ Therefore the Lord waiteth that he may have mercy on you: and therefore shall he be exalted sparing you: because the Lord is the God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

² O Lord, have mercy on us: for we have waited for thee: be thou our arm in the morning, and our salvation in the time of trouble.

¹ Thus saith the Lord: Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my justice to be revealed.

⁴ From the beginning of the world they have not heard, nor perceived with the ears: the eye hath not seen, O God, besides thee, what things thou hast prepared for them that wait for thee. ⁵ Thou hast met him that rejoiceth, and doth justice: in thy ways they shall remember thee: behold thou art angry, and we have sinned: in them we have been always, and we shall be saved.

⁷ But I will look towards the Lord, I will wait for God, my saviour: my God will hear me.

⁴ Remember the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, the precepts, and judgments.

⁶ And they were both just before God, walking in all the commandments and justifications of the Lord without blame.

⁴ And eating together with them, he commanded them, that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but should wait for the promise of the Father, which you have heard (saith he) by my mouth.

²⁵ But if we hope for that which we see not, we wait for it with patience.

⁵ And the Lord direct your hearts, in the charity of God and the patience of Christ.

⁷ Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth: patiently bearing till he receive the early and latter rain. ⁸ Be you therefore also patient and strengthen your hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand. ⁹ Grudge not, brethren, one against another, that you may not be judged. Behold the judge standeth before the door. ¹⁰ Take, my brethren, for example of suffering evil, of labour and patience, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. ¹¹ Behold, we account them blessed who have endured. You have heard of the patience of Job and you have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is merciful and compassionate.
