⁹ Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand the hearing? them that are weaned from the milk, that are drawn away from the breasts.

¹⁷ Seeing thou hast hated discipline: and hast cast my words behind thee.

² If I was not humbly minded, but exalted my soul: As a child that is weaned is towards his mother, so reward in my soul.

²⁹ Because they have hated instruction, and received not the fear of the Lord,

²⁶ For he will instruct him in judgment: his God will teach him.

¹⁰ Who say to the seers: See not: and to them that behold: Behold not for us those things that are right: speak unto us pleasant things, see errors for us. ¹¹ Take away from me the way, turn away the path from me, let the Holy One of Israel cease from before us. ¹² Therefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel: Because you have rejected this word, and have trusted in oppression and tumult, and have leaned upon it:

²⁰ And the Lord will give you spare bread, and short water: and will not cause thy teacher to flee away from thee any more, and thy eyes shall see thy teacher.

¹⁷ Thus saith the Lord thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am the Lord thy God that teach thee profitable things, that govern thee in the way that thou walkest.

⁴ The Lord hath given me a learned tongue, that I should know how to uphold by word him that is weary: he wakeneth in the morning, in the morning he wakeneth my ear, that I may hear him as a master.

¹ Who a hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?

¹³ All thy children shall be taught of the Lord: and great shall be the peace of thy children.

³¹ The prophets prophesied falsehood, and the priests clapped their hands: and my people loved such things: what then shall be done in the end thereof?

¹⁰ To whom shall I speak? and to whom shall I testify, that he may hear? behold, their ears are uncircumcised, and they cannot hear: behold the word of the Lord is become unto them a reproach: and they will not receive it.

²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said: I confess to thee, O Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to little ones.

³⁸ That the saying of Isaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he said: Lord, who hath believed our hearing? And to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?

⁴⁷ And if any man hear my words and keep them not, I do not judge him for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. ⁴⁸ He that despiseth me and receiveth not my words hath one that judgeth him. The word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
