⁷ And he answered them: Are not you the men that hated me, and cast me out of my father's house, and now you are come to me, constrained by necessity?

²⁷ Isaac said to them: Why are ye come to me, a man whom you hate, and have thrust out from you?

²⁷ It is better that he be sold to the Ismaelites, and that our hands be not defiled: for he is our brother and our flesh. His brethren agreed to his words.

⁴ And he said mildly to them: Come nearer to me. And when they were come near him, he said: I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into Egypt. ⁵ Be not afraid, and let it not seem to you a hard case that you sold me into these countries: for God sent me before you into Egypt for your preservation.

¹⁷ He that is a friend loveth at all times: and a brother is proved in distress.

¹⁴ And the children of them that afflict thee, shall come bowing down to thee, and all that slandered thee shall worship the steps of thy feet, and shall call thee the city of the Lord, the Sion of the Holy One of Israel.

⁹ And the patriarchs, through envy, sold Joseph into Egypt. And God was with him, ¹⁰ And delivered him out of all his tribulations: and he gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharao, the king of Egypt. And he appointed him governor over Egypt and over all his house. ¹¹ Now there came a famine upon all Egypt and Chanaan, and great tribulation: and our fathers found no food. ¹² But when Jacob had heard that there was corn in Egypt, he sent our fathers first. ¹³ And at the second time, Joseph was known by his brethren: and his kindred was made known to Pharao. ¹⁴ And Joseph sending, called thither Jacob, his father, and all his kindred, seventy-five souls.

⁹ Behold, I will bring of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but do lie. Behold, I will make them to come and adore before thy feet. And they shall know that I have loved thee.
