¹ A psalm for David himself. Sing ye to the Lord a new canticle: because he hath done wonderful things. His right hand hath wrought for him salvation, and his arm is holy. ² The Lord hath made known his salvation: he hath revealed his justice in the sight of the Gentiles. ³ He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

¹ O Praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. ² For his mercy is confirmed upon us: and the truth of the Lord remaineth for ever.

¹ The word that Isaias the son of Amos saw, concerning Juda and Jerusalem. ² And in the last days the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be prepared on the top of mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow unto it. ³ And many people shall go, and say: Come and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob, and he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall come forth from Sion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

⁴ What is there that I ought to do more to my vineyard, that I have not done to it? was it that I looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it hath brought forth wild grapes?

¹⁰ In that day the root of Jesse, who standeth for an ensign of the people, him the Gentiles shall beseech, and his sepulchre shall be glorious.

⁶ And he said: It is a small thing that thou shouldst be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to convert the dregs of Israel. Behold, I have given thee to be the light of the Gentiles, that thou mayst be my salvation even to the farthest part of the earth.

²² Thus saith the Lord God: Behold I will lift up my hand to the Gentiles, and will set up my standard to the people. And they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and carry thy daughters upon their shoulders.

¹⁰ The Lord hath prepared his holy arm in the sight of all the Gentiles: and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

¹⁵ He shall sprinkle many nations, kings shall shut their mouth at him: for they to whom it was not told of him, have seen: and they that heard not, have beheld.

³⁴ And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying: Know the Lord: for all shall know me from the least of them even to the greatest, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are shortened upon thy people, and upon thy holy city, that transgression may be finished, and sin may have an end, and iniquity may be abolished; and everlasting justice may be brought; and vision and prophecy may be fulfilled; and the Saint of saints may be anointed.

²³ And I will sow her unto me in the earth, and I will have mercy on her that was without mercy. ^(2:24) And I will say to that which is not my people: Thou art my people: and they shall say: Thou art my God.

⁸ How shall I deal with thee, O Ephraim, shall I protect thee, O Israel? how shall I make thee as Adama, shall I set thee as Seboim? my heart is turned within me, my repentance is stirred up.

¹¹ For from the rising of the sun even to the going down, my name is great among the Gentiles, and in every place there is sacrifice, and there is offered to my name a clean oblation: for my name is great among the Gentiles, saith the Lord of hosts.

² And saying: Do penance: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

¹⁰ And Jesus hearing this, marvelled; and said to them that followed him. Amen I say to you, I have not found so great faith in Israel. ¹¹ And I say to you that many shall come from the east and the west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven:

¹³ Go then and learn what this meaneth, I will have mercy and not sacrifice. For I am not come to call the just, but sinners.

⁵ These twelve Jesus sent: commanding them, saying: Go ye not into the way of the Gentiles, and into the city of the Samaritans enter ye not. ⁶ But go ye rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

¹⁹ Going therefore, teach ye all nations: baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.

³⁴ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killest the prophets; and stonest them that are sent to thee, how often would I have gathered thy children as the bird doth her brood under her wings, and thou wouldest not?

³⁸ But Peter said to them: Do penance: and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins. And you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

¹⁹ Be penitent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.

²⁵ You are the children of the prophets and of the testament which God made to our fathers, saying to Abraham: And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. ²⁶ To you first, God, raising up his Son, hath sent him to bless you: that every one may convert himself from his wickedness.

¹² Neither is there salvation in any other. For there is no other name under heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved.

³¹ Him hath God exalted with his right hand, to be Prince and Saviour. to give repentance to Israel and remission of sins.

⁴³ To him all the prophets give testimony, that by his name all receive remission of sins, who believe in him.

¹⁸ Having heard these things, they held their peace and glorified God, saying: God then hath also to the Gentiles given repentance, unto life.

³⁸ Be it known therefore to you, men, brethren, that through him forgiveness of sins is preached to you: and from all the things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. ³⁹ In him every one that believeth is justified.

⁴⁶ Then Paul and Barnabas said boldly: To you it behoved us first to speak the word of God: but because you reject it and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold we turn to the Gentiles.

³⁰ And God indeed having winked at the times of this ignorance, now declareth unto men that all should every where do penance. ³¹ Because he hath appointed a day wherein he will judge the world in equity, by the man whom he hath appointed: giving faith to all, by raising him up from the dead.

⁵ And when Silas and Timothy were come from Macedonia, Paul was earnest in preaching, testifying to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ. ⁶ But they gainsaying and blaspheming, he shook his garments and said to them: Your blood be upon your own heads: I am clean. From henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.

²¹ Testifying both to Jews and Gentiles penance towards God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ To open their eyes, that they may be converted from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a lot among the saints, by the faith that is in me.

²⁰ But to them first that are at Damascus and at Jerusalem, and unto all the country of Judea, and to the Gentiles did I preach, that they should do penance and turn to God, doing works worthy of penance.

²⁸ Be it known therefore to you that this salvation of God is sent to the Gentiles: and they will hear it.

²⁰ Now the law entered in that sin might abound. And where sin abounded, grace did more abound.

¹² For there is no distinction of the Jew and the Greek: for the same is Lord over all, rich unto all that call upon him. ¹³ For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. ¹⁴ How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? Or how shall they believe him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? ¹⁵ And how shall they preach unless they be sent, as it is written: How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, of them that bring glad tidings of good things? ¹⁶ But all do not obey the gospel. For Isaias saith: Lord, who hath believed our report? ¹⁷ Faith then cometh by hearing; and hearing by the word of Christ. ¹⁸ But I say: Have they not heard? Yes, verily: Their sound hath gone forth into all the earth: and their words unto the ends of the whole world.

²⁶ And so all Israel should be saved, as it is written: There shall come out of Sion, he that shall deliver and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob. ²⁷ And this is to them my covenant: when I shall take away their sins.

⁸ For I say that Christ Jesus was minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers: ⁹ But that the Gentiles are to glorify God for his mercy, as it is written: Therefore will I confess to thee, O Lord, among the Gentiles and will sing to thy name. ¹⁰ And again he saith: rejoice ye Gentiles, with his people. ¹¹ And again: praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles: and magnify him, all ye people. ¹² And again, Isaias saith: There shall be a root of Jesse; and he that shall rise up to rule the Gentiles, in him the Gentiles shall hope. ¹³ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing: that you may abound in hope and in the power of the Holy Ghost. ¹⁴ And I myself also, my brethren, am assured of you that you also are full of love, replenished with all knowledge, so that you are able to admonish one another. ¹⁵ But I have written to you, brethren, more boldly in some sort, as it were putting you in mind, because of the grace which is given me from God, ¹⁶ That I should be the minister of Christ Jesus among the Gentiles: sanctifying the gospel of God, that the oblation of the Gentiles may be made acceptable and sanctified in the Holy Ghost.

⁶ Unto the praise of the glory of his grace, in which he hath graced us, in his beloved son.

⁸ To me, the least of all the saints, is given this grace, to preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ:

²⁷ To whom God would make known the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ, in you the hope of glory.

¹² I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.
