¹⁷ Which Jesus knowing, saith to them: Why do you reason, because you have no bread? Do you not yet know nor understand? Have you still your heart blinded?

¹⁷ Why hast thou made us to err, O Lord, from thy ways: why hast thou hardened our heart, that we should not fear thee? return for the sake of thy servants, the tribes of thy inheritance.

¹⁷ Do you not understand, that whatsoever entereth into the mouth, goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the privy?

⁸ And Jesus knowing it, said: Why do you think within yourselves, O ye of little faith, for that you have no bread? ⁹ Do you not yet understand, neither do you remember the five loaves among five thousand men, and how many baskets you took up?

⁸ Which Jesus presently knowing in his spirit that they so thought within themselves, saith to them: Why think you these things in your hearts?

⁵ And looking round about on them with anger, being grieved for the blindness of their hearts, he saith to the man: Stretch forth thy hand. And he stretched it forth: and his hand was restored unto him.

⁵² For they understood not concerning the loaves; for their heart was blinded.

¹⁴ At length he appeared to the eleven as they were at table: and he upbraided them with their incredulity and hardness of heart, because they did not believe them who had seen him after he was risen again.

²⁵ Then he said to them: O foolish and slow of heart to believe in all things, Which the prophets have spoken.

²⁴ But Jesus did not trust himself unto them: for that he knew all men, ²⁵ And because he needed not that any should give testimony of man: for he knew what was in man.

³⁰ Now we know that thou knowest all things and thou needest not that any man should ask thee. By this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
