² And he was transfigured before them. And his face did shine as the sun: and his garments became white as snow.

³⁹ And going a little further, he fell upon his face, praying and saying: My Father, if it be possible, let this chalice pass from me. Nevertheless, not as I will but as thou wilt.

⁴² Again the second time, he went and prayed, saying: My Father, if this chalice may not pass away, but I must drink it, thy will be done.

³⁴ Jesus saith to them: My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, that I may perfect his work.

¹⁸ No man taketh it away from me: but I lay it down of myself. And I have power to lay it down: and I have power to take it up again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

²⁸ Father, glorify thy name. A voice therefore came from heaven: I have both glorified it and will glorify it again. ²⁹ The multitude therefore that stood and heard said that it thundered. Others said: An angel spoke to him. ³⁰ Jesus answered and said: This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. ³¹ Now is the judgment of the world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. ³² And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all things to myself.

³¹ But that the world may know that I love the Father: and as the Father hath given me commandments, so do I. Arise, let us go hence.

¹⁰ If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love: as I also have kept my Father's commandments and do abide in his love.

³³ In humility his judgment was taken away. His generation who shall declare, for his life shall be taken from the earth?

¹⁹ For as by the disobedience of one man, many were made sinners: so also by the obedience of one, many shall be made just.

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that being rich he became poor for your sakes: that through his poverty you might be rich.

¹³ Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us (for it is written: Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree).

¹⁴ Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity and might cleanse to himself a people acceptable, a pursuer of good works.

⁵ So Christ also did not glorify himself, that he might be made a high priest: but he that said unto him: Thou art my Son: this day have I begotten thee. ⁶ As he saith also in another place: Thou art a priest for ever, according to the order of Melchisedech. ⁷ Who in the days of his flesh, with a strong cry and tears, offering up prayers and supplications to him that was able to save him from death, was heard for his reverence. ⁸ And whereas indeed he was the Son of God, he learned obedience by the things which he suffered. ⁹ And being consummated, he became, to all that obey him, the cause of eternal salvation:

⁷ Then said I: Behold I come: in the head of the book it is written of me: that I should do thy will, O God. ⁸ In saying before, Sacrifices, and oblations, and holocausts for sin thou wouldest not, neither are they pleasing to thee, which are offered according to the law. ⁹ Then said I: Behold, I come to do thy will, O God: He taketh away the first, that he may establish that which followeth.

² Looking on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, who, having joy set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and now sitteth on the right hand of the throne of God.

²⁴ Who his own self bore our sins in his body upon the tree: that we, being dead to sins, should live to justice: by whose stripes you were healed.

¹⁸ Because Christ also died once for our sins, the just for the unjust: that he might offer us to God, being put to death indeed in the flesh, but enlivened in the spirit,
