MINISTRY OF THE TENT OF WITNESS
And Yah Veh says to Aharon, You, with your sons and the house of your father bear the perversity of the holies: and you, with your sons bear the perversity of your priesthood: ² and also your brothers of the rod of Levi, the scion of your father, oblate with you: they join to you and minister to you: and you, with your sons at the face of the tent of witness: ³ and they guard your guard and the guard of all the tent: only they approach not the instruments of the holies and the sacrifice altar so that they not die - neither they, nor you: ⁴ and they join you and guard the guard of the tent of the congregation, for all the service of the tent so that no stranger approaches you: ⁵ and guard the guard of the holies and the guard of the sacrifice altar so that there be no more rage on the sons of Yisra El. ⁶ And I - behold, I take your brothers the Leviym from among the sons of Yisra El: and give them to you, a gift for Yah Veh, to serve the service of the tent of the congregation.

SCRIBING THE LEVIYM
And they scribe the Leviym from sons of thirty years and upward: and their number per cranium - mighty by mighty, is thirty-eight thousand. ⁴ Of these, to oversee the work of the house of Yah Veh: twenty-four thousand: and six thousand officers and judges: ⁵ and four thousand porters; and four thousand to halal Yah Veh with the instruments I worked to halal. ⁶
ALLOTMENTS OF THE SONS OF LEVI
And David allots them allotments of the sons of Levi: Gershon, Qehath and Merari.

²⁷ for by the last words of David the sons of Levi are numbered from sons of twenty years and above: ²⁸ because of their function at the hand of the sons of Aharon for the service of the house of Yah Veh - in the courts and in the chambers and in the purifying of all the holies and the work of the service of the house of Elohim: ²⁹ and for the bread arrangement and for the flour for offering and for the matsah wafers and for the griddled and for the deep fried and for all manner of measure by measure: ³⁰ and to stand morning by morning to spread hands and halal Yah Veh - and likewise at evening: ³¹ and to holocaust all holocausts to Yah Veh in the shabbaths, in the new moons, festivals by number, according to their judgment, continually at the face of Yah Veh: ³² and to guard the guard of the tent of the congregation and the guard of the holies and the guard of the sons of Aharon their brothers in the service of the house of Yah Veh.

³ And David allots them, both Sadoq of the sons of El Azar and Achiy Melech of the sons of Iy Thamar, according to their overseeing in their service.
