⁴ And Yah Veh Elohim of Yisra El chooses me from all the house of my father - sovereign over Yisra El eternally: for he chose Yah Hudah for eminence; and of the house of Yah Hudah the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he is pleased that I reign over all Yisra El:

⁸ Yah Hudah: you to whom your brothers spread hands: your hand is on the neck of your enemies; the sons of your father prostrate to you: ⁹ Yah Hudah is a whelp of a lion: from the prey, my son, you ascend: he kneels; he crouches as a lion and as a roaring lion; who rouses him? ¹⁰ Neither turns the scion aside from Yah Hudah nor a statute setter from between his feet until Shiloh come; and the obedience of the people is his:

SHEMU EL IN BETH LECHEM
And Yah Veh says to Shemu El, How long mourn you for Shaul, seeing I refuse him to reign over Yisra El? Fill your horn with oil and go! I send you to Yishay the Beth Lechemiy: for I see a sovereign among his sons.

⁶ And so be it, they come, and he sees Eli Ab and says, Surely the anointed of Yah Veh is in front of him. ⁷ And Yah Veh says to Shemu El, Look not on his visage or on the height of his height; because I refuse him: - not as humanity sees; for humanity sees the eyes and Yah Veh sees the heart. ⁸ Then Yishay calls Abi Nadab and passes him at the face of Shemu El: and he says, Yah Veh chooses not this. ⁹ Then Yishay passes Shammah by. And he says, Yah Veh chooses not this. ¹⁰ Again, Yishay passes seven of his sons at the face of Shemu El: and Shemu El says to Yishay, Yah Veh chooses not these. ¹¹ And Shemu El says to Yishay, Are these all your integrious lads? And he says, There survives yet the youngest; and behold, he tends the flock. And Shemu El says to Yishay, Send and take him: for we turn not around until he comes hither. ¹²
DAVID ANOINTED
And he sends and brings him in: and he is ruddy and of beautiful eyes and goodly to see. And Yah Veh says, Rise! Anoint him! For this is he. ¹³ Then Shemu El takes the horn of oil, and anoints him midst his brothers: and the Spirit of Yah Veh prospers on David from that day onward. - and Shemu El rises and goes to Ramah.

And the Ziphiy come to Shaul to Gibah, saying, Is David not hiding in the hill of Hachilah at the face of Yeshimon?

YAH VEH SABAOTH CUTS A COVENANT WITH DAVID
Now say thus to my servant David, Thus says Yah Veh Sabaoth, I took you from the habitation of rest - from after the flock to be eminent over my people - over Yisra El: ⁹ and I am with you wherever you go; and cut off all your enemies from your face: and work you a great name as the name of the great in the earth: ¹⁰ and I set a place for my people Yisra El and plant them to tabernacle in their own place that they neither quiver any more nor that the sons of wickedness add to abase them - as formerly ¹¹ - as from the day I misvahed judges to be over my people Yisra El and rested you from all your enemies: and Yah Veh tells you that he works you a house. ¹² And when your days fulfill and you lie down with your fathers, I raise your seed after you who come from your inwards; and I establish his sovereigndom: ¹³ he builds a house for my name and I establish the throne of his sovereigndom eternally. ¹⁴ I become to him, father and he becomes to me, son. If he perverts, I reprove him with the scion of men and with the plagues of the sons of humanity: ¹⁵ but my mercy turns not aside from him as I turned it aside from Shaul - whom I turned aside from your face: ¹⁶ and your house and your sovereigndom are permanent - eternally at your face: your throne is established eternally.

² for Yah Hudah prevails mightily above his brothers and of him the eminence; and the firstrights are to Yoseph.

²³ And now, O Yah Veh, may the word you word concerning your servant and concerning his house be amened eternally; and work as you word:

²⁷ and now may your will be to bless the house of your servant, to be at your face eternally: for you bless, O Yah Veh - bless eternally.

¹⁹ He brings me to an expanse; he rescues me, because he delights in me:

⁷ Gilad is mine and Menash Sheh is mine; and Ephrayim is the stronghold of my head: Yah Hudah is my statute setter;

⁶⁸ but chose the scion of Yah Hudah - the mount Siyon he loved: ⁶⁹ and he built his hallowed refuge lofty - eternal as the earth he founded. ⁷⁰ He chose David his servant and took him from the flock folds; ⁷¹ after the sucklings, great with young, he brought him to tend Yaaqov his people and Yisra El his inheritance; ⁷² thus he tended them according to the integrity of his heart; and led them by the discernment of his palms.

¹⁶ in your name they twirl all the day; and in your justness they are lofted. ¹⁷ For you are the beauty of their strength; and at your pleasure our horn is lofted. ¹⁸ For Yah Veh is our buckler and the Holy One of Yisra El our sovereign. ¹⁹ Then you worded in vision to your mercied one and said, I placed help on one who is mighty; I exalted one chosen from the people: ²⁰ I found David my servant; with my holy ointment I anoint him; ²¹ with whom I establish my hand; my arm strengthens him: ²² neither the enemy exacts from him; nor the son of wickedness abase him: ²³ I crush his tribulators at his face and smite them who hate him. ²⁴ And my trustworthiness and my mercy are with him; and in my name his horn is lofted. ²⁵ I set his hand on the sea and his right on the rivers. ²⁶ He calls to me, You - my father, my El and the rock of my salvation. ²⁷ I also give him to be my firstbirthed, Elyon of the sovereigns of the earth.

⁸ Galad is mine; Menash Sheh is mine; Ephrayim is the stronghold of my head; Yah Hudah is my statute setter;

¹⁰ He neither delights in the might of the horse; nor takes pleasure in the legs of a man. ¹¹ Yah Veh takes pleasure in them who awe him; who await his mercy.

¹⁴ For it was pre-evidenced that our Adonay rose from Yah Hudah; to which scion Mosheh spake naught concerning priesthood. ^{Genesis 49:8, 10}
