And Yah Veh adds to kindle his wrath against Yisra El; and he goads David against them to say, Go, number Yisra El and Yah Hudah. ² And the sovereign says to Yah Ab the governor of the valiant host with him, Flit now through all the scions of Yisra El from Dan even to Beer Sheba; and number the people so that I know the number of the people. ³ And Yah Ab says to the sovereign, Yes, Yah Veh your Elohim adds to the people - as many as ever they be, a hundred times that the eyes of my adoni the sovereign see. EHUD THE SAVIOUR
And the sons of Yisra El cry to Yah Veh and Yah Veh raises them a saviour - Ehud the son of Gera - a Ben Yaminiy - a man shut of his right hand: and by his hand the sons of Yisra El send an offering to Eglon the sovereign of Moab; ¹⁶ and Ehud works a sword of two edges; a span long; and he girds it under his tailoring on his right flank. ¹⁷ And he oblates the offering to Eglon sovereign of Moab - Eglon is a mighty fat man. ¹⁸ And when he finishes oblating the offering he sends away the people who bear the offering. ¹⁹ But he himself turns from the sculptiles by Gilgal and says, I have a covert word to you, O sovereign. He says, Hush! - and all who stand by him go from him. ²⁰ And Ehud comes to him; and he settles in an upper room of cooling which he has for himself alone. And Ehud says, I have a word from Elohim to you! - and he rises from his throne. ²¹ And Ehud sends his left and takes the sword from his right flank and stakes it into his belly: ²² and the handle also goes in after the blade; and the fat shuts through the blade so that he cannot draw the sword from his belly; and it comes out at the anus. ²³ Then Ehud goes through the portico and shuts the doors of the upper room on him and encloses them. ²⁴ And he goes, and his servants come; and they see, behold, the doors of the upper room are enclosed, they say, Surely he covers his feet in his cooling chamber. ²⁵ And they wait until they shame: and behold, he opens not the doors of the upper room; and they take the key and open: and behold, their adoni fallen down on the earth - dead. ²⁶ And as they linger Ehud escapes and passes beyond the sculptiles and escapes to Seirah: ²⁷ and so be it, when he comes, he blasts a shophar in the mountain of Ephrayim and the sons of Yisra El descend the mount with him - with him at their face. ²⁸ And he says to them, Pursue after me: for Yah Veh gives your enemies the Moabiy into your hand. - and they descend after him and capture the passages of Yarden toward Moab and allow not a man to pass over. ²⁹ And at that time they smite about ten thousand men of Moab - all fat - all men of valour; and not a man escapes. ³⁰ So Moab is subdued that day under the hand of Yisra El. - and the land rests eighty years.

And the men of war, mighty of valour, are in Yeru Shalem: ¹⁴ and these are the mustered according to the house of their fathers: of Yah Hudah, the governors of thousands: Adnah the governor and with him - three hundred thousand mighty of valour; ¹⁵ and at his hand: Yah Hanan the governor; and with him - two hundred and eighty thousand; ¹⁶ and at his hand: Amas Yah the son of Zichri who volunteers to Yah Veh; and with him mighty of valour - two hundred thousand; ¹⁷ and of Ben Yamin; Eli Ada mighty of valour and with him, them kissed with bow and buckler - two hundred thousand; ¹⁸ and at his hand, Yah Zabad: and with him equipped for hostility - a hundred and eighty thousand. ¹⁹ - these ministered to the sovereign, beside them the sovereign gives in the fortified cities throughout all Yah Hudah.

³ And she says, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in to her; and she births on my knees that I also have children by her. ⁴ And she gives him Bilhah her maid to woman: and Yaaqov goes in to her: ⁵ and Bilhah conceives and births Yaaqov a son: ⁶ and Rachel says, Elohim pleaded my cause and also heard my voice and gives me a son: so she calls his name Dan. ⁷ And Bilhah the maid of Rachel conceives again and births Yaaqov a second son: ⁸ and Rachel says, With wrestlings of Elohim I wrestled with my sister and I prevail! - and she calls his name Naphtali.

²² and so be it, as Yisra El tabernacles in that land, Reu Ben goes and lies with Bilhah the concubine of his father: and Yisra El hears it.

And the sons of Yaaqov are twelve:

²⁴ And the sons of Naphtali: Yachse El and Guni and Yeser and Shillem. ²⁵ These are the sons of Bilhah whom Laban gave to Rachel his daughter and she birthed these to Yaaqov; all the souls are seven.

INHERITANCE OF THE DAUGHTERS OF YISRA EL
Then approach the daughters of Seloph Had the son of Hepher the son of Gilad the son of Machir the son of Menash Sheh of the families of Menash Sheh the son of Yoseph: and these are the names of his daughters; Machlah, Noah and Hoglah and Milchah and Tirsah:

³⁰ but if they pass not over with you equipped, they possess among you in the land of Kenaan. ³¹ And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reu Ben answer, saying, As Yah Veh worded to your servants, thus we work: ³² we - we pass over equipped at the face of Yah Veh to the land of Kenaan, and the possession of our inheritance on this side Yarden becomes ours. ³³ And Mosheh gives them - the sons of Gad and the sons of Reu Ben and half the scion of Menash Sheh the son of Yoseph, the sovereigndom of Siho sovereign of the Emoriy and the sovereigndom of Og sovereign of Bashan - the land, with the cities thereof in the borders, - the cities of the land all around. ³⁴ And the sons of Gad build Dibon and Ataroth and Aroer ³⁵ and Atroth, Shophan and Yazer and Jogbehah ³⁶ and Beth Nimrah and Beth Ha Ran - fortified cities: and walls for flocks. ³⁷ And the sons of Reu Ben build Heshbon and El Aleh and Qiryathaim ³⁸ and Nebo and Baal Meon - their names being turned around and Sibmah: and calls names to the cities they build by name. ³⁹ And the sons of Machir the son of Menash Sheh goes to Gilad and captures it and dispossesses the Emoriy therein. ⁴⁰ And Mosheh gives Gilad to Machir the son of Menash Sheh; and he settles therein. ⁴¹ And Yair the son of Menash Sheh goes and captures the living areas thereof and calls them Havoth Yair: ⁴² and Nobach goes and captures Qenath and the daughters thereof and calls it Nobach, after his own name.

¹³ and the remainder of Gilad and all Bashan, being the sovereigndom of Og, I gave to the half scion of Menash Sheh; all the boundaries of Argob, with all Bashan, called the land of Rephaim. ¹⁴ Yair the son of Menash Sheh took all the boundaries of Argob to the borders of the Geshuriy and Maachahiy; and called them after his own name, Bashan Havoth Yair, to this day: ¹⁵ and I gave Gilad to Machir:

THE BOUNDARIES OF MENASH SHEH And so be it, a pebble for the rod of Menash Sheh; for he is the firstbirthed of Yoseph - for Machir the firstbirthed of Menash Sheh the father of Gilad: because he is a man of war he has Gilad and Bashan. ² And there remains for the sons of Menash Sheh for their families: for the sons of Abi Ezer and for the sons of Heleq and for the sons of Asri El and for the sons of Shechem and for the sons of Hepher and for the sons of Shemi Da: these are the male sons of Menash Sheh the son of Yoseph by their families. ³ As for Seloph Had, the son of Hepher the son of Gilad the son of Machir the son of Menash Sheh has no sons, only, daughters: and these are the names of his daughters: Machlah and Noah Hoglah, Milchah and Tirsah.

¹⁴ From Ephrayim, their root is against Amaleq; after you, Ben Yamin, among your people; from Machir the statute setters descend; and from Zebulun they who draw with the scion of the scribe.

²¹ And afterward Hesron goes in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilad; and he takes her - he, a son of sixty years; and she births him Segub; ²² and Segub births Yair who has twenty-three cities in the land of Gilad. ²³ And he takes Geshur and Aram with the living areas of Yair, from them; with Qenath, and the daughters thereof - sixty cities. All these are the sons of Machir the father of Gilad.

³³ and Seloph Had the son of Hepher has no sons, but daughters: and the names of the daughters of Seloph Had: Machlah and Noah, Hoglah, Milchah and Tirsah;

Then approach the daughters of Seloph Had the son of Hepher the son of Gilad the son of Machir the son of Menash Sheh of the families of Menash Sheh the son of Yoseph: and these are the names of his daughters; Machlah, Noah and Hoglah and Milchah and Tirsah: ² and they stand at the face of Mosheh and at the face of El Azar the priest and at the face of the hierarchs and all the witness, by the opening of the tent of the congregation, saying, ³ Our father died in the wilderness and he was not among the witness that congregated against Yah Veh in the witness of Qorach; but died in his own sin and had no sons. ⁴ Why diminish the name of our father from among his family because he has no son? Give us a possession among the brothers of our father. ⁵ - and Mosheh oblates their judgment at the face of Yah Veh. ⁶ And Yah Veh says to Mosheh, saying, ⁷ Thus word the daughters of Seloph Had: In giving, give them a possession of an inheritance among the brothers of their father; and pass the inheritance of their father to them. ⁸ And word to the sons of Yisra El, saying, If a man die and have no son, then pass his inheritance to his daughter: ⁹ and if he have no daughter, then give his inheritance to his brothers: ¹⁰ and if he have no brothers, then give his inheritance to the brothers of his father: ¹¹ and if his father have no brothers, then give his inheritance to the kinflesh of his family and he possesses it: and so be it to the sons of Yisra El, a statute of judgment, as Yah Veh misvahed Mosheh.

THE BOUNDARIES OF EPHRAYIM The border of the sons of Ephrayim is by their families: the border of their inheritance from the rising is Atroth Addar to Beth Horon Elyon; ⁶ and the border goes toward the sea to Michmethah on the north; and the border goes around from the rising to Taanath Shiloh and passes by it from the rising to Yanochah; ⁷ and descends from Yanochah to Ataroth and to Naarah and reaches to Yericho and goes out at Yarden; ⁸ the border goes from Tappuach seaward to the wadi Qanah; the exits are at the sea. - this is the inheritance of the rod of the sons of Ephrayim for their families. ⁹ and the separate cities for the sons of Ephrayim among the inheritance of the sons of Menash Sheh - all the cities with their courts. ¹⁰ And they dispossess not the Kenaaniy who settle in Gezer: but the Kenaaniy settle among the Ephrayimiy to this day, and serve a vassal.

⁷ And the border of Menash Sheh is from Asher to Michmethah at the face of Shechem; and the border goes along on the right to the settlers of En Tappuach; ⁸ Menash Sheh has the land of Tappuach: and Tappuach on the border of Menash Sheh is to the sons of Ephrayim; ⁹ and the border descends to the wadi Qanah southward of the wadi: these cities of Ephrayim are among the cities of Menash Sheh: the border of Menash Sheh is north of the wadi and the exits are at the sea. ¹⁰ And southward is to Ephrayim and northward is to Menash Sheh and the sea is his border; and they meet in Asher on the north and in Yissachar from the rising. ¹¹ And Menash Sheh has in Yissachar and in Asher Beth Shaan and her daughters and Yible Am and her daughters and the settlers of Dor and her daughters and the settlers of En Dor and her daughters and the settlers of Taanach and her daughters and the settlers of Megiddo and her daughters - three hills.

¹⁹ The sovereigns come and fight, and the sovereigns of Kenaan fight in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they take no gain of silver.

¹⁰ And they set his instruments in the house of Ashtaroth: and they stake his body to the wall of Beth Shaan.
