DAVID ANOINTED SOVEREIGN
And so be it, after this, David asks of Yah Veh, saying, Ascend I into one of the cities of Yah Hudah? And Yah Veh says to him, Ascend. And David says, Whither ascend I? And he says, To Hebron. 2 So David ascends thither and also his two women, Achiy Noam the Yizre Eliyth and the woman of Abi Gail, Nabal the Karmeliy: 3 and David ascends with his men - every man with his household; and they settle in the cities of Hebron: 4 and the men of Yah Hudah come and there they anoint David sovereign over the house of Yah Hudah. And they tell David, saying, The men of Yabesh Gilad entombed Shaul. 5 And David sends angels to the men of Yabesh Gilad and says to them, Blessed - you of Yah Veh to work this mercy to your adoni - to Shaul and entomb him: 6 and now, Yah Veh work mercy and truth to you; and I also work you this goodness because you worked this word: 7 and now strengthen your hands and become sons of valour: for your adoni Shaul died and also the house of Yah Hudah anointed me sovereign over them. 8
THE SON OF SHAUL REIGNS OVER YISRA EL
And Abi Ner the son of Ner, governor of the host of Shaul, takes Ish Bosheth the son of Shaul and passes him over to Machanayim; 9 and has him reign over Gilad and over the Ashshuriy and over Yizre El and over Ephrayim and over Ben Yamin and over all Yisra El. 10 Ish Bosheth the son of Shaul is a son of forty years; and he begins to reign over Yisra El and reigns two years: only, the house of Yah Hudah goes after David. 11 And the number of days David is sovereign in Hebron over the house of Yah Hudah is seven years and six months. 12
CIVIL WAR
And Abi Ner the son of Ner and the servants of Ish Bosheth the son of Shaul go from Machanayim to Gibon: 13 and Yah Ab the son of Seruyah and the servants of David go and meet by the pool of Gibon: and they settle - the one by the pool here and the one by the pool there. 14 And Abi Ner says to Yah Ab, Have the lads now rise and entertain at our face. And Yah Ab says, Rise. 15 And they rise and pass over by number twelve of Ben Yamin of Ish Bosheth the son of Shaul and twelve of the servants of David: 16 each man holds his friend by the head and his sword in the side of his friend; and they fall together: and they call that place Helgath Hats Surim - in Gibon. 17 And there is a mighty hard war that day; and Abi Ner and the men of Yisra El are smitten at the face of the servants of David. 18 And three sons of Seruyah are there: Yah Ab and Abi Shai and Asa El: and Asa El is as swift of foot as one of the gazelles in the field: 19 and Asa El pursues after Abi Ner; and in going he spreads neither to the right nor to the left after Abi Ner. 20 Then Abi Ner faces back and says, Are you Asa El? And he says, I. 21 And Abi Ner says to him, Spread to your right or to your left and hold on to one of the lads and take his clothes. - and Asa El wills to not turn aside from after him. 22 And Abi Ner adds to say to Asa El, Turn aside from after me! Why smite I you to the earth? How then lift I my face to Yah Ab your brother? 23 And he refuses to turn aside: and Abi Ner smites him under the fifth with the back of the spear so that the spear goes out behind him; and there he falls and dies under it: and so be it, all who come to the place where Asa El falls and dies stand still: 24 and Yah Ab and Abi Shai pursue Abi Ner: and the sun descends and they come to the hill of Ammah at the face of Giach by the way of the wilderness of Gibon: 25 and the sons of Ben Yamin gather themselves together after Abi Ner and become one band and stand on the top of one hill. 26 And Abi Ner calls to Yah Ab and says, The sword - devours it in perpetuity? Know you not that it embitters in the latter end? How long be it then, ere you say to the people to return from after their brothers? 27 And Yah Ab says, Elohim lives: unless you had worded, surely then in the morning the people had ascended each man from after his brother. 28 So Yah Ab blasts a shophar and all the people stand still; and neither pursue Yisra El any more, nor add still to fight: 29 and Abi Ner and his men walk all that night through the plain and pass over Yarden and go through all Bithron and come to Machanayim. 30 And Yah Ab returns from after Abi Ner: and when he gathers all the people there are mustered, of the servants of David, nineteen men and Asa El: 31 and the servants of David smite of Ben Yamin and of the men of Abi Ner so that three hundred and sixty men die. 32 And they lift Asa El and entomb him in the tomb of his father in Beth Lechem. And Yah Ab and his men go all night and come to Hebron at light.

SONS OF YISRA EL DISPUTE OVER LAND
And the sons of Reu Ben and the sons of Gad have mighty mighty many chattel: and when they see the land of Yazer and the land of Gilad, and behold, the place is a place for chattel; 2 the sons of Gad and the sons of Reu Ben come and say to Mosheh and to El Azar the priest and to the hierarchs of the witness, saying, 3 Ataroth and Dibon and Yazer and Nimrah and Heshbon and El Aleh and Sebam and Nebo and Beon 4 - the country Yah Veh smote at the face of the witness of Yisra El, is a land for chattel; and your servants have chattel: 5 they say, If we find charism in your eyes, give this land to your servants for a possession and pass us not over Yarden. 6 And Mosheh says to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reu Ben, Go your brothers to war; and you - you sit here? 7 And why discourage you the heart of the sons of Yisra El from passing into the land Yah Veh gives them? 8 Thus your fathers worked, when I sent them from Qadesh Barnea to see the land; 9 and they ascended to the wadi of Eshcol and saw the land and discouraged the heart of the sons of Yisra El, to not go into the land Yah Veh gave them. 10 And Yah Veh kindled his wrath that day, and oathed, saying, 11 Surely none of the men who ascended from Misrayim - sons of twenty years and upward ever see the soil I oathed to Abraham, to Yischaq and to Yaaqov; because they fulfill not to follow me: 12 except Kaleb the son of Yephunneh the Qenaziy and Yah Shua the son of Nun: for they fulfilled to follow Yah Veh. 13 And Yah Veh kindled his wrath against Yisra El and he wandered them in the wilderness forty years; until all that generation who worked evil in the eyes of Yah Veh was consumed. 14 And behold, you rise in the stead of your fathers - an abundance of sinful men, to scrape together yet the fuming wrath of Yah Veh toward Yisra El. 15 When you turn away from after him, he adds to leave them in the wilderness; and you ruin all this people. 16 And they come near to him and say, We build flock walls here for our chattel and cities for our toddlers: 17 but we ourselves go ready equipped at the face of the sons of Yisra El, until we bring them to their place: and our toddlers settle in the fortified cities at the face of them who settle the land: 18 we return not to our houses until every man of the sons of Yisra El inherits his inheritance: 19 for we inherit not with them on yonder side Yarden, or beyond; because our inheritance falls to us on this side Yarden toward the rising. 20 And Mosheh says to them, If you work this word, if you go equipped at the face of Yah Veh to war, 21 and all of you pass equipped over Yarden at the face of Yah Veh, until he dispossesses his enemies from his face, 22 and subdue the land at the face of Yah Veh: then afterward you return and become innocent at the face of Yah Veh and at the face of Yisra El; and this land becomes your possession at the face of Yah Veh. 23 And if you work not so, behold, you sin against Yah Veh: and perceive that your sin finds you out. 24 Build cities for your toddlers and walls for your flocks; and work as proceeds from your mouth. 25 And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reu Ben say to Mosheh, saying, Your servants work as my adoni misvahs: 26 our toddlers, our women, our chattel and all our animals, be there in the cities of Gilad: 27 but your servants pass over, every man equipped for hostility, at the face of Yah Veh to war, as my adoni worded. 28 And concerning them Mosheh misvahs El Azar the priest and Yah Shua the son of Nun and the head fathers of the rods of the sons of Yisra El: 29 and Mosheh says to them, If the sons of Gad and the sons of Reu Ben pass over Yarden with you, every man equipped to war, at the face of Yah Veh, and the land subdues at your face; then give them the land of Gilad for a possession: 30 but if they pass not over with you equipped, they possess among you in the land of Kenaan. 31 And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reu Ben answer, saying, As Yah Veh worded to your servants, thus we work: 32 we - we pass over equipped at the face of Yah Veh to the land of Kenaan, and the possession of our inheritance on this side Yarden becomes ours. 33 And Mosheh gives them - the sons of Gad and the sons of Reu Ben and half the scion of Menash Sheh the son of Yoseph, the sovereigndom of Siho sovereign of the Emoriy and the sovereigndom of Og sovereign of Bashan - the land, with the cities thereof in the borders, - the cities of the land all around. 34 And the sons of Gad build Dibon and Ataroth and Aroer 35 and Atroth, Shophan and Yazer and Jogbehah 36 and Beth Nimrah and Beth Ha Ran - fortified cities: and walls for flocks. 37 And the sons of Reu Ben build Heshbon and El Aleh and Qiryathaim 38 and Nebo and Baal Meon - their names being turned around and Sibmah: and calls names to the cities they build by name. 39 And the sons of Machir the son of Menash Sheh goes to Gilad and captures it and dispossesses the Emoriy therein. 40 And Mosheh gives Gilad to Machir the son of Menash Sheh; and he settles therein. 41 And Yair the son of Menash Sheh goes and captures the living areas thereof and calls them Havoth Yair: 42 and Nobach goes and captures Qenath and the daughters thereof and calls it Nobach, after his own name.

YAH AB IS DEATHIFIED
And reports come to Yah Ab: for Yah Ab spread after Adoni Yah though he spread not after Abi Shalom: and Yah Ab flees to the tent of Yah Veh and holds on the horns of the sacrifice altar. 29 And they tell sovereign Shelomoh, Yah Ab flees to the tent of Yah Veh; and behold, beside the sacrifice altar. Then Shelomoh sends Bena Yah the son of Yah Yada saying, Go, encounter him. 30 And Bena Yah comes to the tent of Yah Veh and says to him, Thus says the sovereign, Go. And he says, No; but here I die. And Bena Yah returns word to the sovereign, saying, Thus Yah Ab words and thus he answers me. 31 And the sovereign says to him, Work as he worded and encounter him and entomb him; to turn aside the gratuitous blood Yah Ab poured from me and from the house of my father; 32 and Yah Veh returns his blood on his own head - who encountered two men more just and better than he and slaughtered them with the sword my father David not knowing thereof - Abi Ner the son of Ner governor of the host of Yisra El and Amasa the son of Yether governor of the host of Yah Hudah: 33 their blood returns on the head of Yah Ab and on the head of his seed eternally: but on David and on his seed and on his house and on his throne, there is shalom eternally from Yah Veh. 34 So Bena Yah the son of Yah Yada ascends and encounters him and deathifies him: and he is entombed in his own house in the wilderness: 35 and the sovereign gives Bena Yah the son of Yah Yada over the host in his stead: and the sovereign gives Sadoq the priest in the stead of Abi Athar.
