⁴ And they give Yaaqov all the strange elohim in their hand and all their noserings in their ears; and Yaaqov buries them under the oak by Shechem:

² And Aharon says to them, Break off the golden noserings in the ears of your women and your sons and your daughters and bring them to me. ³ And all the people break off the golden noserings in their ears and bring them to Aharon: ⁴ and he takes them from their hand and with a stylus forms and works a molten calf thereof: and they say, These are your elohim, O Yisra El, who ascended you from the land of Misrayim.

²⁰ and he takes the calf they worked and burns it in the fire and pulverizes it and winnows it on the face of the water; and makes the sons of Yisra El drink thereof.

⁵ But work thus with them; pull down their sacrifice altars and break down their monoliths and cut down their asherim and burn their sculptiles with fire.

²⁵ Burn the sculptiles of their elohim with fire: neither desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it to you, lest you be snared therein: for it is an abhorrence to Yah Veh your Elohim.

²⁵ And Yah Shua cuts a covenant with the people that day and sets them a statute and a judgment in Shechem: ²⁶ and Yah Shua inscribes these words in the scroll of the torah of Elohim and takes a great stone and raises it there under an oak by the holies of Yah Veh.

²⁴ And Gidon says to them, I ask a petition of you, that every man of you give me the noserings of his spoil. - they have golden noserings for they are Yishma Eliy. ²⁵ And they say, In giving, we give them. And they spread a cloth and every man casts therein the noserings of his spoil: ²⁶ and the weight of the golden noserings he asks is a thousand and seven hundred of gold - beside crescents and pendants and purple covering on the sovereigns of Midyaniy - beside the chokers around the necks of their camels. ²⁷ And Gidon works an ephod thereof and places it in his city - in Ophrah: and all Yisra El whores after it: which becomes a snare to Gidon and to his house.

⁶ and all the masters of Shechem and all the house of Millo gather together and go and have sovereign Abi Melech reign by the mighty oak of the station in Shechem.

²⁰ In that day, humanity casts his idols of silver and his idols of gold that they work for him to prostrate to - to the burrowers and to the bats;

²² And you foul the overlay of your sculptiles of silver and the ephod of your moltings of gold: you cast them away as a menstruous cloth; you say to it, Get you hence.

¹³ and I visit on her the days of Baalim, wherein she incenses to them; and adorns herself with her noserings and her ornaments, and goes after her lovers, and forgets me - an oracle of Yah Veh.
