¹⁴ Yah Veh enters into judgment with the elders of his people and the governors: for you burnt the vineyard; the stripping of the humble is in your houses.

⁴ Reproves he because of your awe? Enters he into judgment with you?

² They overtake the borders; they strip droves and feed; ³ they drive away the she burro of the orphan; they take the ox of the widow for a pledge; ⁴ they pervert the needy from the way; the humble of the earth hide. ⁵ Behold, as wild runners in the wilderness, they go to their deeds; rising early for a prey; to the plains for bread - for them and their lads; ⁶ they harvest their fodder in the field; they glean the vineyard of the wicked; ⁷ they stay the naked overnight without robe that they have no covering in the cold;

⁹ they strip the orphan from the breast and take a pledge of the humble;

²³ For he sets no more on man than to go into judgment with El:

⁴ Have all doing mischief not known? - who eat my people as they eat bread - who call not on Yah Veh.

² And enter not into judgment with your servant; for at your face no one living is justified;

² the mighty and the man of war, the judge and the prophet, and the diviner and the aged, ³ the governor of fifty, and the lifted face and the counsellor, and the wise engraver and the discerning orator:

⁷ For the vineyard of Yah Veh Sabaoth is the house of Yisra El, and the men of Yah Hudah his plant of delights: and he awaits judgment; and behold, oppression: for justness; and behold, a cry.

²⁷ as a cage full of flyers, thus are their houses full of deceit: so they greaten and enrich;

Hear this word, you heifers of Bashan in the mountain of Shomeron - who oppress the poor; who crush the needy; who say to their adonim, Bring, and we drink.

² and they desire fields and strip them; and houses, and bear them away: and oppress a mighty and his house - even a man and his inheritance.

¹⁰ Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked? And the emaciated ephah that enrages?

THE PARABLE OF THE VINEYARD
Hear another parable: A human housedespotes, plants a vineyard and hedges it all around and digs a trough in it and builds a tower and leases it to cultivators and goes abroad:

⁶ But you dishonor the poor. Is it not the rich who overpower you? And drag you to the judgment?
