³ And the people chide with Mosheh, and speak, saying, O that we had expired when our brothers expired at the face of Yah Veh!

² and the whole witness of the sons of Yisra El murmur against Mosheh and Aharon in the wilderness. ³ And the sons of Yisra El say to them, O that we were given to die by the hand of Yah Veh - in the land of Misrayim when we settled by the flesh cauldrons and when we ate bread to satiety; for you bring us into this wilderness, to deathify this whole congregation with famine.

² And the people strive with Mosheh and say, Give us water to drink. And Mosheh says to them, Why strive with me? Why test you Yah Veh?

THE CONSUMING FIRE OF YAH VEH
And the people complain evilly in the ears of Yah Veh: and Yah Veh hears and kindles his wrath; and kindles the fire of Yah Veh among them and consumes the ends of the camp.

³³ and while the flesh is yet between their teeth, ere it is cut, Yah Veh kindles his wrath against the people and Yah Veh smites the people with a mighty great stroke. ³⁴ And he calls the name of that place Qibroth Hat Taavah/Tomb of Desire: because there they entomb the people who desire.

THE SONS OF YISRA EL MURMUR
And all the witness lift and give their voice and cry; and the people weep that night. ² And all the sons of Yisra El murmur against Mosheh and against Aharon: and all the witness say to them, O that we had died in the land of Misrayim! O that we had died in this wilderness!

³⁶ And the men Mosheh sent to explore the land, who returned and had all the witness murmur against him, by bringing up a slander on the land, ³⁷ even those men who brought the slander on the land, died by the plague at the face of Yah Veh.

³¹ And so be it, as he finishes wording all these words, that the soil under them splits: ³² and the earth opens her mouth and swallows them and their houses and all the humanity of Qorach and all their acquisitions: ³³ they and all they have descends alive into the pit and the earth closes in on them: and they destruct from among the congregation. ³⁴ And all Yisra El all around them flees at their voice: for they say, Lest the earth swallow us! ³⁵ And a fire comes out from Yah Veh and consumes the two hundred and fifty men who oblate incense.

⁴⁹ - and they who died in the plague - fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them who died about the word of Qorach.

¹⁰ because it neither shut the doors of my belly, nor hide toil from my eyes. ¹¹ Why died I not from the womb? - expire when I came from the belly?

⁹ Those pierced with the sword are better than those pierced with famine; for they flow away stabbed because of the produce of the field.
