¹² ¶ For as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also the Christ.

⁴ For in the manner that we have many members in one body, nevertheless all the members do not have the same operation; ⁵ likewise many of us are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

¹⁷ For one loaf of bread means that many are one body, for we are all partakers of that one loaf.

²⁷ ¶ Now ye are the body of Christ and members in particular.

¹⁶ Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He did not say, And to seeds, as of many, but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

²³ which is his body, and he is the fullness of her: who fills all things in everyone.

⁴ There is one body and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling,

¹² for the perfecting of the saints in the work of the ministry, unto the edifying of the body of the Christ

¹⁵ but following the truth in charity, let us grow up into him in all things, who is the head, the Christ: ¹⁶ From whom the whole body fitly joined together and well tied together among itself by the nourishment that every connecting bond supplies, by the operation of each member according to measure they have received, making increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in charity.

²³ For the husband is the head of the wife even as the Christ is head of the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}, and it is he who gives saving health to the body.

³⁰ For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

¹⁸ And he is the head of the body, the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he might have the preeminence.

²⁴ who now rejoice in my sufferings for you and fulfill in my flesh that which is lacking of the tribulations of the Christ for his body’s sake, which is the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones},

¹⁹ and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, fed and united by its joints and bonds, grows in the increase of God.

¹⁵ And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, into which likewise ye are called into one body, and be ye thankful.
