⁹ ¶ But as touching love among the brethren, ye need not that I write unto you, for ye yourselves have learned of God that ye are to show charity to one another.

⁸ and whoever eats it shall bear his iniquity because he has profaned the holiness of the LORD, and that person shall be cut off from among his people.

¹ A Song of degrees of David. ¶ Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

¹³ And thou hast already forgotten the LORD thy maker that has stretched forth the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth and hast feared continually every day the fury of the oppressor when he was ready to destroy. But, where is the fury of the oppressor?

³⁴ And they shall no longer teach every man his neighbour and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD, for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, said the LORD, for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

³⁹ And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

⁴⁴ No one can come to me unless the Father who has sent me draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day. ⁴⁵ It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught of God. Every man therefore that has heard from the Father and has learned comes unto me.

³⁴ A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. ³⁵ By this shall everyone know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

²⁶ But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all the things that I have said unto you.

¹² This is my commandment, That ye love one another as I have loved you. ¹³ Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his soul for his friends. ¹⁴ Ye are my friends if ye do whatsoever I command you. ¹⁵ From now on I do not call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his lord does; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. ¹⁶ Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it unto you. ¹⁷ This I command you, that ye love one another.

³² ¶ And of the multitude of those that had believed was one heart and one soul; no one said that anything he possessed was his own, but they had all things common.

¹⁰ loving one another with brotherly love, with honour preferring one another;

¹ ¶ Be ye therefore imitators of God, as dear children ² and walk in charity even as the Christ also has loved us and has given himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.

¹ ¶ But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

¹⁰ For this is the testament that I will ordain to the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord: I will give my laws into their soul and write them upon their hearts, and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: ¹¹ and no one shall teach his neighbour nor anyone his brother, saying, Know the Lord, for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

¹⁶ This is the testament that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will give my laws in their hearts, and in their souls will I write them;

¹ ¶ Let brotherly love continue.

⁸ ¶ And finally, be ye all of one consent, of one affection, loving each other fraternally, merciful, courteous,

⁸ And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves; for charity shall cover a multitude of sins.

⁷ and in fear of God, brotherly love; and in brotherly love, charity.

¹⁰ He that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him.

²⁰ ¶ But ye have the anointing of the Holy One, and ye know all things. ²¹ I have not written unto you as if ye ignore the truth, but as unto those that know it, and that no lie is of the truth. ²² Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? This same is antichrist, who denies the Father and the Son. ²³ Whosoever denies the Son, the same does not have the Father. Whosoever confesses the Son, has the Father also. ²⁴ Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. For if that which ye have heard from the beginning shall abide in you, ye also shall continue to abide in the Son and in the Father. ²⁵ And this is the promise that he has promised us, even eternal life. ²⁶ These things I have written unto you concerning those that seduce you. ²⁷ But the anointing which ye have received of him abides in you, and ye do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you of all things and is truth, and is no lie; and even as it has taught you, abide ye in him.

¹¹ ¶ For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, That we should love one another.

¹⁴ ¶ We know that we are passed from death unto life, in that we love the brethren. He that does not love his brother abides in death. ¹⁵ Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer and ye know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. ¹⁶ In this we have known the charity of God because he laid down his life for us; we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. ¹⁷ But whosoever has this world’s goods and sees his brother have need and shuts up his bowels of compassion from him, how does the charity of God abide in him? ¹⁸ My little children, let us not love in word neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth. ¹⁹ And in this we know that we are of the truth and have our hearts certified before him.

²³ ¶ And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he has commanded us.

⁷ ¶ Beloved, let us love one another, for charity is of God. Anyone that loves is born of God and knows God. ⁸ He that does not love does not know God, for God is charity. ⁹ In this was the charity of God demonstrated in us, in that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. ¹⁰ In this does the charity consist, not because we had loved God, but because he loved us and has sent his Son to be the reconciliation for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ¹² No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and his charity is completed in us. ¹³ In this we know that we abide in him, and he in us, in that he has given us of his Spirit. ¹⁴ ¶ And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. ¹⁵ Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. ¹⁶ And we have known and believed the charity that God has in us. God is charity, and he that abides in charity abides in God, and God in him.

²¹ And we have this commandment from him, That he who loves God loves his brother also.
