⁷ And David said unto him, Fear not; for I will surely show thee mercy for Jonathan, thy father’s sake, and will restore unto thee all the land of Saul, thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.

¹⁸ And the men were afraid because they were brought into Joseph’s house, and they said, Because of the money that was returned in our sacks the first time we are brought in here that he may seek occasion against us and fall upon us and take us for slaves and our asses.

²³ And he said, Peace be to you, fear not; your God, and the God of your father, has given you treasure in your sacks; I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them.

¹⁸ And his brethren also went and fell down before his face, and they said, Behold, we are thy slaves. ¹⁹ And Joseph said unto them, Fear not; for am I in the place of God? ²⁰ But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God thought it out unto good, to bring to pass that which we see this day, to give life to many people. ²¹ Now therefore fear ye not; I will nourish you and your little ones. Thus he comforted them and spoke to their heart.

¹¹ And Boaz answered and said unto her, It has fully been showed me all that thou hast done unto thy mother-in-law since the death of thy husband and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother and the land of thy nativity and art come three days ago unto a people whom thou didst not know before. ¹² Let the LORD recompense thy work and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to cover thyself.

¹⁹ And all the people said unto Samuel, Pray for thy slaves unto the LORD thy God that we not die, for we have added unto all our sins this evil, to ask for a king over us. ²⁰ And Samuel said unto the people, Do not fear. Ye have done all this wickedness, yet do not turn aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart;

²⁴ Only fear the LORD and serve him in truth with all your heart, for consider what great things he has done with you.

¹ ¶ And David said, Is anyone left of the house of Saul that I may show him mercy for Jonathan’s sake?

³ And the king said, Is there no one left of the house of Saul that I may show the mercy of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, There remains a son of Jonathan, who is lame on his feet.

¹¹ Then Ziba said unto the king, According to all that my lord the king has commanded his slave, so shall thy slave do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table as one of the king’s sons.

⁸ and I gave thee thy master’s house and thy master’s wives into thy bosom and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah, and if that is too little, I shall add unto thee such and such things.

²⁸ For all of my father’s house were worthy of death before my lord the king; yet thou didst set thy slave among those that eat at thy own table. What righteousness, therefore, have I yet to cry any more unto the king?

³³ And the king said unto Barzillai, Come thou over with me, and I will feed thee with me in Jerusalem.

⁷ But show mercy unto the sons of Barzillai, the Gileadite, and let them be of those that eat at thy table, for they came thus unto me when I fled because of Absalom, thy brother.

²⁹ And he changed his prison garments, and he ate bread continually before him all the days of his life.

⁹ Even the man of my peace, in whom I trusted, who ate of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

³ Comfort ye the tired hands and strengthen the knees that tremble. ⁴ Say to those that are of a fearful heart, Be comforted, fear not; behold, your God comes with vengeance, with recompense; God himself will come and save you.

³³ And the slain of the LORD shall be in that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be as dung upon the ground. ³⁴ Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the dust, ye principals of the flock; for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like an enticing vessel.

¹¹ Give us this day our daily bread.

³³ But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him and told him all the truth. ³⁴ And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith has made thee saved; go in peace and remain whole of thy plague.

¹² And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. ¹³ But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias, for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
