¹ ¶ The former treatise I have made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, ² until the day in which, having given commandments by the Holy Spirit unto the apostles whom he had chosen, he was received on high; ³ unto whom he also showed himself alive, after he had suffered, by many infallible proofs, appearing unto them for forty days and speaking to them of the kingdom of God; ⁴ and gathering them together, he commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, Which, he said, ye have heard of me. ⁵ For John truly baptized in water, but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days from now. ⁶ ¶ Then those that were come together asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? ⁷ And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has put under his authority only. ⁸ But ye shall receive the virtue of the Holy Spirit which shall come upon you, and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judaea and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth. ⁹ And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. ¹⁰ And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, ¹¹ who also said, Ye men of Galilee, what do ye stand gazing at up into heaven? ⁵ Trust in the LORD with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. ⁶ In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

¹¹ ¶ Sheol and hell are before the LORD; how much more then the hearts of men?

²² ¶ Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that has it, but the instruction of fools is folly.

²⁶ and I will restore thy judges as at the first and thy counsellors as at the beginning; afterward thou shalt be called The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

⁶ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government is placed upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called The Wonderful One, The Counsellor, The God, The Mighty One, The Eternal Father, The Prince of Peace. ⁷ The multitude of his dominion and the peace shall have no end upon the throne of David and upon his Kingdom, ordering it and confirming it in judgment and in righteousness from now on even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of the hosts will perform this.

²⁰ But, O LORD of the hosts, that judges righteously, that tries the kidneys and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them, for unto thee I have uncovered my cause.

¹⁹ O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the time of the affliction; Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things in which there is no profit.

⁴⁴ And in the days of those kings the God of heaven shall raise up a kingdom which eternally shall never become corrupted, and this kingdom shall not be left to another people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. ⁴⁵ In the manner which thou didst see that out of the mountain was cut one stone, not with hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God has shown the king what shall come to pass hereafter; and the dream is true, and its interpretation sure.

⁷ And each one said to his fellow, Come, and let us cast lots that we may know for whose cause this evil is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah.

⁹ ¶ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout with joy, O daughter of Jerusalem; behold, thy King shall come unto thee: just, and a saviour; humble, and riding upon an ass, even upon a colt the foal of an ass.

When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas had made them while she was with them. ⁴⁰ Then Peter put them all out and knelt down and prayed and turned to the body said, Tabitha, arise. ⁵ not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

³ how shall we escape, if we belittle such great saving health? Which, having begun to be published by the Lord, has been confirmed unto us by those that heard him,

⁷ ¶ Therefore, as the Holy Spirit saith, Today if ye will hear his voice, ⁸ harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

¹³ Neither is there any created thing that is not manifested in his presence, but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him of whom we speak.

¹⁹ which we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters even into that which is within the veil, ²⁰ where our precursor, Jesus, has entered for us and is made high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

²⁴ For Christ is not entered into the sanctuary made with hands (which is a figure of the true), but into the heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us,

¹ ¶ James, {Gr. Jacob}, a slave of God and of the Lord Jesus, the Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

¹¹ searching when and in what point of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, which announced beforehand the afflictions that were to come upon the Christ, and the glory that should follow them.

Tartarus} and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; ⁵ and if he did not forgive the old world, but kept Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven other persons, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; ⁶ and if he condemned by destruction the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha, turning them into ashes, making them an example unto those that after should live without fear and reverence of God;

¹⁵ who forsaking the right way have erred, having followed the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness, ¹⁶ and was rebuked for his iniquity; a dumb animal accustomed to a yoke (upon which he was seated), speaking with man’s voice, hindered the madness of the prophet.

²¹ For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

And this is the commandment, That ye walk in him, as ye have heard from the beginning. ⁷ ¶ For many deceivers are entered into the world, who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in flesh. This same is a deceiver and antichrist. ⁸ Look to yourselves, that we not lose those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a fulfilled reward. ⁹ Whosoever rebels and does not abide in the doctrine of the Christ, does not have God. He that abides in the doctrine of the Christ, the same has the Father and the Son. ¹⁰ ¶ If anyone comes unto you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house neither say unto him, Welcome: ¹¹ For he that says unto him, Welcome, is partaker of his evil deeds. ¹² ¶ Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink, but I trust to come unto you and speak face to face, that our joy may be full. ¹³ The sons of thy chosen sister greet thee. Amen.

¹ ¶ The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth. ² Beloved, I wish that thou be prospered in all things and be sound, even as thy soul prospers. ³ ¶ For I rejoiced greatly when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou dost walk in the truth. ⁴ I have no greater joy than this, to hear that my sons walk in the truth. ⁵ Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatever thou doest regarding the brethren and with the strangers, ⁶ who have borne witness of thy charity before the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}, whom if thou wilt help them as is convenient according to God, thou shalt do well; ⁷ because for his name’s sake, they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles. ⁸ We, therefore, ought to receive such, that we might be fellow workers to the truth. ⁹ ¶ I wrote unto the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}, but Diotrephes, who loves to have the preeminence among them, did not receive us. ¹⁰ Therefore, if I come, I will cause his deeds to be understood, speaking against us with malicious words, and not content with this, he does not receive the brethren and forbids those that desire to receive them and casts them out of the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}. ¹¹ Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that does good is of God, but he that does evil has not seen God. ¹² ¶ Everyone gives testimony of Demetrius, even the truth itself; and we also bear witness, and ye have known that our witness is true. ¹³ I had many things to write, but I will not with ink and pen write unto thee, ¹⁴ For I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to thee. Our friends salute thee. Greet the friends by name.

¹ ¶ Jude, slave of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to those that are called, sanctified in God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ:

⁶ And the angels who did not keep their first estate but left their own habitation, he has reserved in eternal chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. ⁷ Even as Sodom and Gomorrha and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication and going after strange flesh, were set forth for an example, having received the judgment of eternal fire.

³ ¶ And I will give my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth. ⁴ These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth. ⁵ And if anyone desires to hurt them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies; and if anyone desires to hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. ⁶ These have power to shut the heaven, that it not rain in the days of their prophecy and have power over the waters to turn them to blood and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. ¹³ And in the same hour there was a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain the names of seven thousand men; and the others were frightened and gave glory to the God of heaven.

⁴ These are those who are not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are those who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These are redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

¹⁴ And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
