1 ¶ The former treatise I have made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
2 until the day in which, having given commandments by the Holy Spirit unto the apostles whom he had chosen, he was received on high;
3 unto whom he also showed himself alive, after he had suffered, by many infallible proofs, appearing unto them for forty days and speaking to them of the kingdom of God;
4 and gathering them together, he commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, Which, he said, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized in water, but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days from now.
6 ¶ Then those that were come together asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has put under his authority only.
8 But ye shall receive the virtue of the Holy Spirit which shall come upon you, and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judaea and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel,
11 who also said, Ye men of Galilee, what do ye stand gazing at up into heaven? This same Jesus, who is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
12 ¶ Then they returned unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.
13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where Peter and James and John and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James were.
14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary, the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
15 ¶ And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples and said (the number of names together were about one hundred and twenty),
16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit by the mouth of David spoke before concerning Judas, who was guide to those that took Jesus.
17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained a lot or inheritance of this ministry.
18 He, therefore, purchased a field with the reward of his iniquity; and hanging himself, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
19 And it was known unto all the dwellers of Jerusalem, in such a manner that the field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.
20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no one dwell therein, and let another take his office.
21 It behooves, therefore, of these men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
22 beginning from the baptism of John unto that same day that he was received on high from among us, that one must be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
24 And they prayed and said, Thou, Lord, who knowest the hearts of everyone, show which of these two thou hast chosen,
25 that he may take the lot or inheritance of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas rebelled that he might go to his own place.
26 And they gave forth their lots, and the lot fell upon Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

50 Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.
51 And he said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see the heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
John 2:24-25

5 Then Jesus lifted up his eyes and saw a great company come unto him; he said unto Philip, From where shall we buy bread that these may eat?
6 But he said this to prove him, for he knew what he would do.

John 10:1-9
1 ¶ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that enters not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2 But he that enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 To him the porter opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
4 And when he puts forth his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
5 And they will not follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.
6 Jesus spoke this parable unto them, but they did not understand what it was that he spoke unto them.
7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I AM the door of the sheep.
8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I AM the door; whosoever enters in by me shall be saved and shall go in and out and find pasture.
John 10:32-38
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we do not stone thee, but for blasphemy; and because thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35 If he called them gods unto whom the word of God came (and the scripture cannot be broken),
John 10:35
35 If he called them gods unto whom the word of God came (and the scripture cannot be broken),
36 do ye say of him whom the Father has sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest, because I said, I am the Son of God?
37 If I do not do the works of my Father, do not believe me.
38 But if I do, though ye do not believe me, believe the works that ye may know and believe that the Father is in me and I in him.

38 that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Lord, who shall believe our report? and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
39 Therefore they could not believe, because Isaiah said again,
40 He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, that they should not see with their eyes nor understand with their heart and be converted, and I should heal them.

16 and I will ask the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever,
John 14:26-28
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all the things that I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
28 ¶ Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice because I said, I go unto the Father; for my Father is greater than I.
John 15:26
John 16:7-15
7 ¶ Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment:
9 of sin, because they do not believe in me;
10 of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth, for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak, and he will cause you to know the things which are to come.
14 He shall clarify me, for he shall take of that which is mine and shall cause you to know it.
15 All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he shall take of that which is mine and shall cause you to know it.

28 ¶ I came forth from the Father and am come into the world; again, I leave the world and go to the Father.
John 17:12
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name; those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled.
13 And now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
John 18:2-8
2 And Judas also, who betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus gathered there often with his disciples.
3 Judas then, taking a company of soldiers and ministers of the high priests and of the Pharisees, came there with lanterns and torches and weapons.
4 Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?
5 They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus said unto them, I AM. And Judas also, who betrayed him, stood with them.
6 And when he said unto them, I AM, they went backward and fell to the ground.
7 Then he asked them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
8 Jesus answered, I have told you that I AM; if, therefore, ye seek me, let these go away,

19 The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples and of his doctrine.
20 Jesus answered him, I spoke openly to the world; I always taught in the synagogue and in the temple, where all the Jews gather; and I have said nothing in secret.
21 Why dost thou ask me? Ask those who heard me what I have said unto them; behold, they know what I said.
John 18:25-27
25 And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it and said, I am not.

27 Peter then denied again, and immediately the cock crew.

28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, said, I thirst.
29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar, and they filled a sponge with vinegar and put it upon hyssop and put it to his mouth.
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished, and he bowed his head and gave the Spirit.

1 ¶ The first of the sabbaths, Mary Magdalene came early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre and saw the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
2 Then she ran and came to Simon Peter and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.
3 Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre.
4 So they both ran together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came first to the sepulchre.
5 And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet he did not go in.
6 Then came Simon Peter following him and went into the sepulchre and saw the linen clothes lying
7 and the napkin, that had been placed over his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.
8 Then that other disciple, who came first to the sepulchre, went in also and he saw and believed.
9 For as yet they did not know the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.
10 Then the disciples went away again unto their own.
11 ¶ But Mary stood outside near the sepulchre weeping, and as she wept, she stooped down and looked into the sepulchre
12 and saw two angels in white sitting, the one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been placed.
John 20:12
12 and saw two angels in white sitting, the one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been placed.
13 And they said unto her, Woman, why dost thou weep? She said unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.
14 And when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there and did not know that it was Jesus.
15 Jesus said unto her, Woman, why dost thou weep? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, said unto him, Lord, if thou didst carry him off, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.
16 Jesus said unto her, Mary! Turning herself around, she said unto him, Rabboni, which is to say, Master.
17 Jesus said unto her, Touch me not, for I have not yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brethren and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and to my God and your God.

20 And having said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.
21 Then Jesus said to them again, Peace be unto you; as my Father has sent me, even so send I you.

26 ¶ And again eight days later, his disciples were within and Thomas with them; then Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst and said, Peace be unto you.
27 Then he said to Thomas, Reach here thy finger and behold my hands and reach here thy hand and thrust it into my side and be not unbelieving, but faithful.
28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29 Jesus said unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed; blessed are those that have not seen and yet have believed.
John 21:1
John 21:14
14 This was now the third time that Jesus manifested himself to his disciples, after he was risen from the dead.
15 ¶ So when they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He said unto him, Yes, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He said unto him, Feed my lambs.
John 21:15-17
15 ¶ So when they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He said unto him, Yes, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He said unto him, Feed my lambs.

17 He said unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus said unto him, Feed my sheep.
John 21:17-17
17 He said unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus said unto him, Feed my sheep.
John 21:17
17 He said unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus said unto him, Feed my sheep.
18 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou didst gird thyself and walk where thou wouldest, but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee and carry thee where thou wouldest not.
19 This he spoke, signifying by what death he should clarify God. And when he had spoken this, he said unto him, Follow me.
20 ¶ Then Peter, turning about, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrays thee?
21 Peter seeing him said to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?
John 21:21-24
21 Peter seeing him said to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?
22 Jesus said unto him, If I will that he tarry until I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.
23 Then this saying went abroad among the brethren that that disciple should not die; yet Jesus did not say unto him, He shall not die, but, If I will that he tarry until I come, what is that to thee?
John 21:23
23 Then this saying went abroad among the brethren that that disciple should not die; yet Jesus did not say unto him, He shall not die, but, If I will that he tarry until I come, what is that to thee?
24 This is the disciple who testifies of these things and wrote these things, and we know that his testimony is true.

13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where Peter and James and John and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James were.
Acts 1:16-21
Acts 1:20-21
20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no one dwell therein, and let another take his office.
21 It behooves, therefore, of these men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
22 beginning from the baptism of John unto that same day that he was received on high from among us, that one must be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;
18 and for certain on my slaves and on my handmaids I will pour out in those days of my Spirit, and they shall prophesy;
19 and I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath: blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke;
20 the sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood before that great and notable day of the Lord shall come;
21 and it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know,
23 him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken and by wicked hands have crucified and slain,
Acts 2:29-31
29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
30 Therefore being a prophet and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne;
31 he, seeing this before, spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that his soul was not left in Hades, neither did his flesh see corruption.
32 This Jesus God has raised up, of whom we all are witnesses.
33 Therefore being raised up by the right hand of God and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which ye now see and hear.
Acts 2:37
37 ¶ Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized each one of you into the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms {lit. mercy} of those that entered into the temple,
3 who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked for alms.
4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have I give thee: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
8 And he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God,
10 and they knew that it was he who sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

Acts 4:25-28
Acts 4:26-28
26 The kings of the earth were present, and the princes were gathered together against the Lord and against his Christ.

Acts 4:27-28

28 to do that which thy hand and thy counsel had determined beforehand must be done.
29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings and grant unto thy slaves that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
30 that thou might stretch forth thine hand so that healings and signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy slave Jesus.
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

Acts 8:5-25
5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached the Christ unto them.
6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spoke, hearing and seeing the signs which he did.
7 For many unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of those who were possessed with them, and many paralytics and that were lame were healed.
8 And there was great joy in that city.
9 But there was a certain man called Simon, who before this in the same city used magic arts and amazed the people of Samaria, giving out that he himself was some great one,
10 to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This is the great virtue of God.
11 And to him they had regard because for a long time he had amazed them with magic arts.
12 But when they believed Philip preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 Then Simon himself believed also; and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were being done.
14 ¶ Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John unto them,
15 who, when they were come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them; they were baptized only in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
18 And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,
19 saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit.
20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter, for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness and pray God, if perhaps this thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness and in the prison of iniquity.
24 Then Simon answered and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.
25 And they, when they had testified and preached the word of God, returned to Jerusalem and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
Acts 9:32-43
32 ¶ And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints who dwelt at Lydda.
33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been in bed eight years, for he was a paralytic.

35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him and turned to the Lord.
36 ¶ Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas; this woman was full of good works and alms-deeds {lit. acts of mercy} which she did.
37 And it came to pass in those days that she was sick and died, whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
38 And since as Lydda was close to Joppa and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, asking him that he not delay to come to them.
39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas had made them while she was with them.
40 Then Peter put them all out and knelt down and prayed and turned to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes; and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 And he gave her his hand and lifted her up; and calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.

Acts 10:9-33
9 ¶ On the morrow, as they went on their journey and drew near unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour;
10 and he became very hungry and would have eaten; but while they made ready, he fell into a rapture of understanding
11 and saw the heaven opened and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners and let down to the earth,
12 in which were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth and wild beasts and reptiles and fowls of the air.
13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter, kill and eat.
14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15 And the voice spoke unto him again the second time, That which God has cleansed, do not call common.
16 This was done three times, and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men who were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon’s house and stood before the gate
18 and called and asked whether Simon, who was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.
19 ¶ While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.
20 Arise therefore and get thee down and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them.
21 Then Peter went down to the men who were sent unto him from Cornelius and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek; what is the cause for which ye are come?
22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man and one that fears God and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by a holy angel to send for thee into his house and to hear words of thee.
23 Then he called them in and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.
24 And the next day they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.
25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshipped him.
26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
27 And as he talked with him, he went in and found many that were come together.
28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an abominable thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company or come unto one of another nation; but God has showed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
29 Therefore I came unto you without doubting, as soon as I was sent for; I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?
30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing

32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call here Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side, who, when he comes, shall speak unto thee.
