²⁶ And if someone smites the eye of their slave or the eye of their maid that it perishes, he shall let them go free for their eye’s sake. ²⁷ And if he smites out his manslave’s tooth or his maidslave’s tooth, he shall let them go free for their tooth’s sake.

¹⁹ And if a man causes a blemish in his neighbour; as he has done, so shall it be done to him; ²⁰ breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he has caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again.

³⁸ ¶ Ye have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth; ³⁹ but I say unto you, That ye resist not with evil, but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. ⁴⁰ And if anyone desires to sue thee at the law, and take away thy clothing, let him have thy cloak also.

² For with the judgment with which ye judge, ye shall be judged, and with the measure with which ye measure, ye shall be measured again.

³⁸ give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down and shaken together and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye measure out it shall be measured to you again.

⁶ for they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they deserve it.
