⁶ When fires are lit and in burning the thorns burn also the stacks of sheaves or the standing grain, or the field is consumed; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.

³³ And if someone shall open a pit or if someone shall dig a pit and not cover it and an ox or an ass falls in it, ³⁴ the owner of the pit shall make it good and give money unto their owner, and the dead beast shall be his.

⁹ For all manner of fraud, whether it be for an ox, for an ass, for a sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, which another challenges to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.

¹² And if it is stolen from him, he shall make restitution unto its owner.

⁴ And Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took torches, and turning them tail to tail, he put a torch between every two tails. ⁵ Then, setting the torches on fire, he let them go into the standing grain of the Philistines and burnt up both the shocks and also the standing grain with the vineyards and oliveyards.

³⁰ Therefore, he said unto his slaves, See, Joab’s field is near mine, and he has barley there; go and set it on fire. And Absalom’s slaves set the field on fire. ³¹ Then Joab arose and came to Absalom unto his house and said unto him, Why have thy slaves set my field on fire?
