A Psalm of David. ¶ Give ear to my prayer, O God, and do not hide thyself from my supplication. ² Attend unto me and hear me: I mourn in my complaint and make a noise ³ because of the voice of the enemy because of the oppression of the wicked; for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me. ⁴ My heart is sore pained within me, and the terrors of death are fallen upon me. ⁵ Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror has overwhelmed me. ⁶ And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then I would fly away and be at rest. ⁷ Behold, then I would flee far away and dwell in the wilderness. ² Behold, O God my saving health, I will trust and not be afraid for JAH, the LORD, is my strength and my song; he also is become saving health unto me.

²⁴ And unto me he shall say, Surely in the LORD is the righteousness and the strength; until he shall come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.

¹⁴ Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth and cause thee to eat of the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.

¹² And I will strengthen them in the LORD; and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith the LORD.

⁹ And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly, therefore, I will rather glory in my weaknesses that the power of Christ may dwell in me. ¹⁰ Therefore I am content in weaknesses, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake, for when I am weak, then am I strong.

¹⁶ that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man,

¹³ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
