²⁰ ¶ And one of the sons of Ahimelech, the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped and fled after David. ²¹ And Abiathar gave David the news that Saul had slain the LORD’s priests. ²² And David said unto Abiathar, I knew it that day when Doeg, the Edomite, was there that he would surely tell Saul. I have given cause before Saul against all the persons of thy father’s house.

¹⁷ I know also, my God, that thou dost try the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things; and now have I seen with joy that thy people, who are present here, have given willingly unto thee.

Yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath. ¹⁹ And it came to pass, that when shadow came to the gates of Jerusalem before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut and charged that they should not be opened until after the sabbath; and I set some of my servants at the gates, that no burden be brought in on the sabbath day. ²⁰ So the merchants and sellers of all kinds of merchandise lodged outside Jerusalem once or twice. ²¹ Then I testified and protested against them and said unto them, Why do ye lodge about the wall? If ye do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth they came no more on the sabbath. ²² And I told the Levites that they should cleanse themselves and that they should come and guard the gates, to sanctify the sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy.

⁴ Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No one.

²³ And having ordained elders for them in every congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} and having prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord on whom they believed.

²⁵ And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia

⁶ ¶ Now passing through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia;

²¹ testifying both to the Jews and also to the Gentiles, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁹ And there arose a great cry; and the scribes that were of the Pharisees’ part arose and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man, but if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him, let us not fight against God.

²⁰ but I announced first unto those of Damascus and at Jerusalem and throughout all the coasts of Judaea and then to the Gentiles that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.

⁶ ¶ For the Christ, when we were yet weak, in his time died for the ungodly. ⁷ For scarcely for a righteous man will one die, yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. ⁸ But God increased the price of his charity toward us in that while we were yet sinners the Christ died for us.

²⁰ Moreover the law entered that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound, ²¹ so that in the same manner as sin has reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus, the Christ, our Lord.

³ For they, being ignorant of God’s righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

⁸ But what does it say? The word is near thee, even in thy mouth and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach,

¹⁵ But he that is spiritual discerns all things, yet he is discerned by no one.

²¹ ¶ Therefore let no one glory in men. For all things are yours; ²² whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come, all are yours;

⁹ ¶ Know ye not that the unjust shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor effeminate nor homosexuals ¹⁰ nor thieves nor covetous nor drunkards nor revilers nor extortioners shall inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And such were some of you, but now ye are washed, but now ye are sanctified, but now ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and in the Spirit of our God.

⁵ Do not defraud one another, except it be with mutual consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer and come together again, that Satan not tempt you for your incontinency.

¹³ No temptation has taken you but such as is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

³⁰ For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

¹⁰ To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also; for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes I forgave it in the person of Christ,

¹⁵ For we suffer all these things for your sakes that the grace abounding through many may in the thanksgiving redound to the glory of God.

⁵ in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings,

⁵ casting down reasonings and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and leading captive every thought into the obedience of the Christ

² For I am jealous over you with the jealousy of God, for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to the Christ.

²⁷ in labour and travail, in many watches, in hunger and thirst, in many fasts, in cold and nakedness.

²² And has put all things under his feet and gave him to be the head over all things to the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones},

⁸ For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God,

¹⁶ ¶ Let no one therefore judge you in food or in drink or in respect of a feast day or of the new moon or of the sabbath days,

¹³ forbearing one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a quarrel against another: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

³ remembering without ceasing the work of your faith and labour and charity and of waiting with the hope of our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father, ⁴ being certain, beloved brethren, that you are chosen of God.

¹³ who was before a blasphemer and a persecutor and injurious, but I was received unto mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. ¹⁴ And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ This is a faithful saying and worthy of acceptation by all, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am first. ¹⁶ But for this cause I was received unto mercy that in me first, Jesus Christ might show forth all clemency, for an example to those who should hereafter believe in him for eternal life.

² Preach the word; be instant in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

¹⁴ who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto himself a people of his own, zealous of good works.

³ For we ourselves also were foolish in another time, rebellious, deceived, serving diverse lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. ⁴ But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, ⁵ not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, ⁶ which he poured out abundantly in us through Jesus, the Christ, our Saviour; ⁷ that being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

¹³ Neither is there any created thing that is not manifested in his presence, but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him of whom we speak.

³ For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself lest ye be wearied in your souls and faint.

¹⁸ But someone may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works; show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works. ¹⁹ Thou believest that God is one; thou doest well; the demons also believe and tremble. ²⁰ But, O vain man, dost thou desire to know that faith without works is dead? ²¹ Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar? ²² Dost thou not see how the faith worked together with his works, and the faith was complete by the works?

¹⁵ and the prayer of faith shall cause the one who is sick to be saved, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he shall be forgiven them.

¹⁰ I was in the Spirit in the day of the Lord and heard behind me a great voice as of a trumpet,

²³ And I will kill her children with death, and all the congregations {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} shall know that I AM he that searches the kidneys and hearts, and I will give unto each one of you according to your works.

⁷ Let us be glad and rejoice and give glory to him; for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his bride has made herself ready.

⁹ ¶ And there came unto me one of the seven angels who had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues and talked with me, saying, Come here, I will show thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.
