¹ ¶ Then calling his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of weakness.

¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

²⁸ And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, to judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

²⁰ Now when the evening was come, he sat down at the table with the twelve.

⁴⁷ ¶ And while he yet spoke, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the princes of the priests and elders of the people.

¹⁸ And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. ¹⁹ Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

¹³ ¶ And he went up to the mountain and called unto himself whom he would, and they came unto him. ¹⁴ And he established twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach ¹⁵ and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out devils:

⁷ ¶ And he called unto him the twelve and began to send them forth by two and two and gave them power over the unclean spirits ⁸ and commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey except a staff only: no provision bag, no bread, no money in their purse; ⁹ but be shod with sandals and not put on two coats. ¹⁰ And he said unto them, In whatever place ye enter into a house, there abide until ye depart from that place. ¹¹ And whosoever shall not receive you nor hear you, when ye depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet in testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment than for that city. ¹² And they went out and preached that men should repent. ¹³ And they cast out many demons and anointed with oil many that were sick, and they were healed.

¹⁷ And these signs shall follow those that believe: In my name they shall cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues; ¹⁸ they shall take away serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands upon the sick, and they shall be healed.

¹³ And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples; and of them he chose twelve, whom he also named apostles:

¹ ¶ Then he called his twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all the demons and to cure diseases. ² And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. ³ And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey: neither staves nor provision bag, neither bread, neither money, neither have two coats apiece. ⁴ And whatever house ye enter into, abide there and depart from there. ⁵ And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them. ⁶ And they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing every where.

¹⁹ Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

¹⁵ for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

⁴⁹ And, behold, I shall send the promise of my Father upon you, but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem until ye are endued with power from on high.

²⁷ John answered and said, A man can receive nothing except it is given him from the heaven.

³⁵ The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.

⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

² as thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

²¹ Then Jesus said to them again, Peace be unto you; as my Father has sent me, even so send I you. ²² And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said unto them, Receive ye the Holy Spirit; ²³ unto those whose sins ye release, they shall be released; and unto those whose sins ye retain, they shall be retained.

⁸ But ye shall receive the virtue of the Holy Spirit which shall come upon you, and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judaea and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

¹⁵ and killed the Author of life, whom God has raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. ¹⁶ And in the faith of his name, unto this man whom ye see and know, has confirmed his name; and the faith which is by him has given this man this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

¹⁵ And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I am acquainted with, but who are ye?

¹ ¶ And there appeared a great sign in the heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars;

¹² And it had a wall great and high, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel: ¹³ On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. ¹⁴ And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
