⁴⁴ Then it says, I will return into my house from which I came out; and when it is come, it finds it empty, swept, and garnished.

¹¹ But my people did not hearken to my voice, and Israel did not love me. ¹² So I gave them up unto the hardness of their heart, and they walked in their own counsels.

⁶ For they have made ready their heart like an oven while they lie in wait; their baker sleeps all night; in the morning it burns as a flaming fire.

²⁹ Or else how can one enter into the strong man’s house and spoil his goods except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

²⁰ But he that was planted in stony places, the same is he that hears the word and receives it immediately with joy; ²¹ yet he has no root in himself but is temporal, for when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, by and by he is offended. ²² And he that was planted among the thorns is he that hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.

²¹ When an armed strong man keeps his palace, his goods are in peace; ²² but when another stronger than he shall come upon him and overcome him, he takes from him all his arms in which he trusted and divides his spoils.

⁶ This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief and had the bag and would take from what was put therein.

¹⁹ For it is expedient that there also be heresies among you, so that those who are proved may become manifest among you.

² in which in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the will of the prince of the power of this air, the spirit that now works in the sons of disobedience,

⁹ that wicked one, who shall come by the working of Satan with great power and signs and lying miracles, ¹⁰ and with all deception of iniquity working in those that perish because they did not receive the charity of the truth, to be saved. ¹¹ Therefore, for this cause, God shall send the operation of error in them, that they should believe the lie; ¹² that they all might be condemned who did not believe the truth, but consented to the iniquity.

⁴ he is puffed up, knowing nothing, but is driven mad concerning questions and controversy of words, of which comes envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, ⁵ perverse disputings of men of corrupt understanding, and destitute of the truth, using piety as a source of gain: from such withdraw thyself.

⁹ For those that desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. ¹⁰ For the love of money is the root of all evil, which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

¹⁹ They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us; but this happened that it might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

⁴ ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.

⁴ For there are certain men crept in unawares without fear or reverence of God, who from beforehand have been ordained unto this condemnation, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness and denying God who alone has dominion, and our Lord Jesus, the Christ. ⁵ I will, therefore, remind you, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those that did not believe.

³ And I saw one of its heads as it were wounded to death; and its deadly wound was healed; and all the earth marveled, and followed the beast. ⁴ And they worshipped the dragon which had given the authority unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast; saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with it?

⁸ And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship it, whose names are not written in the book of the life of the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world. ⁹ If anyone has an ear, let him hear.
