³ His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow;

⁴ who makes his angels spirits, his ministers a flaming fire,

⁴ ¶ And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, and a great cloud, and a fire enfolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire. ⁵ Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: they had the likeness of man. ⁶ And each one had four faces, and four wings. ⁷ And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot; and they sparkled like the colour of highly burnished brass. ⁸ And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and their faces and their wings on all four sides. ⁹ With their wings they joined one to another; they did not return when they went; they went each one straight in the direction they were facing. ¹⁰ And the likeness of their faces was human faces; and lion faces, on the right side; and they four had ox faces on the left side; likewise they four had eagle faces. ¹¹ Thus were their faces; and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of each one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies. ¹² And they went each one straight forward in the direction they were facing: wherever the Spirit directed them to go, they went; and they did not return when they went. ¹³ As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire and like the appearance of lit torches; the fire went up and down among the living creatures and the brightness of the fire; and out of the fire went forth lightning. ¹⁴ And the living creatures ran and turned as the appearance of lightnings.

⁹ ¶ I beheld until thrones were placed, and an Elder of great age did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool: his throne a flame of fire, his wheels burning fire.

⁵ and lifting up my eyes, I saw, and behold a man clothed in linens, whose loins were girded with very pure gold: ⁶ his body was like the stone of Tarsis turquoise, and his face as a bolt of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to brilliant brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of an army.

² and [he] was transfigured before them, and his face shined as the sun, and his raiment was as white as the light.

³ And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow, so as no fuller on earth can white them.

⁵ And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting to the right hand side, covered in a long white garment; and they were frightened.

¹² and saw two angels in white sitting, the one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been placed.

¹⁰ And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel,

¹⁴ His head and his hairs were white like white wool, as the snow, and his eyes were as a flame of fire ¹⁵ and his feet like unto brilliant metal as if they burned in a furnace and his voice as the sound of many waters. ¹⁶ And he had in his right hand seven stars, and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword, and his countenance was as the sun when it shines in its strength.

⁴ Yet thou hast a few persons in Sardis who have not defiled their garments, and they shall walk with me in white, for they are worthy. ⁵ He that overcomes shall likewise be clothed in white raiment, and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.

¹ ¶ And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud; and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:

¹ ¶ And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power, and the earth was illuminated with his glory.
