⁸ Cheth O taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man that shall trust in him.

¹² Kiss the Son lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way when his wrath is kindled in a little while. Blessed are all those that put their trust in him.

⁷ How excellent is thy mercy, O God! therefore the sons of Adam cover themselves in the shadow of thy wings.

¹⁰ Extend thy mercy unto those that know thee and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

A Psalm of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech. ¶ Why dost thou boast of evil, O strong man? The mercy of God is day by day.

⁵ My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips

¹² O LORD of the hosts, happy is the man that trusts in thee.

¹⁰³ ¶ How sweet have been thy spoken words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

³ ¶ As the apple tree among the trees of the wild, so is my beloved among the sons. I desired to sit under his shadow, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

¹ ¶ I came into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh and my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey; I have drunk my wine and my milk: eat, O friends; drink, beloved, drink abundantly.

¹⁴ And I will satiate the soul of the priest with fatness, and my people shall be filled with my goodness, said the LORD.

¹⁷ For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! The wheat shall make the young men cheerful, and the wine the maids.

⁴ For it is impossible that those who once received the light and tasted of that heavenly gift and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit ⁵ and likewise have tasted the good word of God and the virtue of the age to come,

² as newborn babes, desire the rational milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby in health; ³ if so be ye have tasted that the Lord is benevolent;

¹ ¶ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life ² (for the life is manifested, and we also saw it and bear witness and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father and appeared unto us); ³ that which we have seen and heard we declare unto you, that ye also may have communion with us; and truly our communion is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.

⁷ ¶ Beloved, let us love one another, for charity is of God. Anyone that loves is born of God and knows God. ⁸ He that does not love does not know God, for God is charity. ⁹ In this was the charity of God demonstrated in us, in that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. ¹⁰ In this does the charity consist, not because we had loved God, but because he loved us and has sent his Son to be the reconciliation for our sins.
