¹ ¶ Bear with the one who is sick in the faith, but not unto doubtful discernment. ² For one believes that he may eat all things; another, who is sick, eats vegetables. ³ Let not him that eats despise him that does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him that eats; for God has raised him up. ⁴ Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? By his own master he stands or falls; and if he falls, he shall be made to stand, for God is powerful to make him stand. ⁵ Also, some make a difference between one day and another; others esteem every day alike. Let each one be fully persuaded in his own soul. ⁶ He that observes the day, let him observe it unto the Lord; and he that does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He that eats, eats unto the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he that does not eat, unto the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks. ⁷ For none of us live for ourselves, and no one dies for himself. ⁸ For if we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord; whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s. ⁹ For to this end Christ both died and rose and revived: to thus exercise lordship over the dead as well as over the living. ¹⁰ But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou belittle thy brother? for we shall all stand before the tribunal of the Christ. ¹¹ For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. ¹² So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God. ¹³ Let us, therefore, not judge one another any more, but judge this rather: that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way. ¹⁴ I know and trust in the Lord Jesus that for his sake there is nothing unclean, but to him that esteems any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. ¹⁵ But if thy brother is grieved because of thy food, now thou dost not walk in charity. Do not destroy him with thy food, for whom Christ died. ¹⁶ Let not then your good be evil spoken of; ¹⁷ for the kingdom of God is not food and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. ¹⁸ For he that in these things serves the Christ is well pleasing unto God and approved of men. ¹⁹ Let us, therefore, follow after the things which make for peace and the edification of each one to the others. ²⁰ Because of food, do not destroy the work of God. All things indeed are clean, but it is evil for that man who eats with offense. ²¹ It is good neither to eat flesh nor to drink wine nor do any thing by which thy brother stumbles or is offended or is sick. ²² Thou hast faith; have it to thyself before God. Blessed is he that does not condemn himself with that thing which he allows. ²³ And he that makes a difference is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat by faith; and whatsoever is not out of faith is sin.

³ Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands.

³ Comfort ye the tired hands and strengthen the knees that tremble. ⁴ Say to those that are of a fearful heart, Be comforted, fear not; behold, your God comes with vengeance, with recompense; God himself will come and save you.

¹¹ He shall feed his flock like a shepherd; he shall gather the lambs with his arm and carry them in his bosom and shall gently lead those that are with young.

³ He shall not break a bruised reed, nor shall he quench the smoking flax; he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.

⁴ Ye have not strengthened the weak, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty ye have ruled them;

¹⁶ I will seek that which was lost and bring again that which was driven away and will bind up that which was broken and will strengthen that which was sick but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them in judgment.

¹⁶ For, behold, I raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that are lost, neither shall seek the young one nor heal the one that is broken nor carry the one that is tired, but he shall eat the flesh of the fat and tear their hoofs in pieces.

⁴⁰ He that receives you receives me, and he that receives me receives him that sent me. ⁴¹ He that receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward, and he that receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. ⁴² And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

²⁰ A bruised reed he shall not break, and a smoking flax he shall not quench until he sends forth judgment unto victory.

³¹ And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand and caught him and said unto him, O thou of little faith, why didst thou doubt?

⁵ And whosoever shall receive one such little child in my name receives me. ⁶ But whosoever shall cause one of these little ones who believe in me to fall, it would be better for him that a millstone such as is turned by an ass be hanged about his neck and that he be sunk in the depth of the sea.

¹⁰ Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in the heavens their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in the heavens.

² It would be better for him if a millstone turned by an ass were placed around his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.

²⁰ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receives whomsoever I send receives me, and he that receives me receives him that sent me.

¹⁹ And he did not weaken in faith: he considered not his own body now dead when he was about one hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb;

²¹ It is good neither to eat flesh nor to drink wine nor do any thing by which thy brother stumbles or is offended or is sick.

¹ ¶ We then that are stronger ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not please ourselves.

⁷ ¶ Therefore bear one another, as the Christ also bore us, to the glory of God.

¹ ¶ And I, brothers, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. ² I have fed you with milk, and not with solid food, for until now ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

⁷ ¶ Howbeit there is not in everyone that knowledge, for some with conscience of the idol unto now, eat it as a thing offered unto an idol, and their conscience being weak is defiled. ⁸ But food does not make us more acceptable unto God; for neither if we eat are we the better, neither if we eat not are we the worse. ⁹ But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours becomes a stumblingblock to those that are weak. ¹⁰ For if anyone sees thee who hast this knowledge sit at food in the idol’s temple, shall not the conscience of him who is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols? ¹¹ and through thy knowledge the weak brother shall perish, for whom Christ died. ¹² In this manner, therefore, sinning against the brethren and wounding their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ. ¹³ Therefore, if food makes my brother to fall, I will never eat flesh nor do anything which may cause my brother to fall.

²² To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak; I am made all things to everyone, that I might by all means save some.

²⁹ Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness and esteem such

¹⁰ ¶ If anyone comes unto you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house neither say unto him, Welcome:

⁸ We, therefore, ought to receive such, that we might be fellow workers to the truth. ⁹ ¶ I wrote unto the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}, but Diotrephes, who loves to have the preeminence among them, did not receive us. ¹⁰ Therefore, if I come, I will cause his deeds to be understood, speaking against us with malicious words, and not content with this, he does not receive the brethren and forbids those that desire to receive them and casts them out of the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}.

²⁹ ¶ And God said, Behold, I have given you every grass bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.

³ Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; even as the green grass I have given you all things.

¹⁷ Better is a dinner of vegetables where love is than a fatted calf and hatred therewith.

¹² Prove, now, with thy slaves ten days, and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink.

¹⁶ Thus Melzar took the portion of their food and the wine that they should drink and gave them vegetables.

¹⁴ I know and trust in the Lord Jesus that for his sake there is nothing unclean, but to him that esteems any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

²² Thou hast faith; have it to thyself before God. Blessed is he that does not condemn himself with that thing which he allows. ²³ And he that makes a difference is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat by faith; and whatsoever is not out of faith is sin.

²⁵ Whatever is sold in the market, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake;

¹² For before certain ones came from James, he ate with the Gentiles, but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.

⁴ For everything that God created is good, and nothing is to be refused, if it is received with thanksgiving,

¹⁵ For unto the pure all things are pure, but unto those that are defiled and unfaithful, nothing is pure, but even their soul and conscience is defiled.

¹⁰ but in foods and drinks and different washings and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of correction.

⁹ Be not taken out of the way with diverse and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace, not with foods which have not profited those that have been occupied with them.

¹⁰ For who has despised the day of small beginnings? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel. Those seven are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.

¹ ¶ Judge not, that ye be not judged. ² For with the judgment with which ye judge, ye shall be judged, and with the measure with which ye measure, ye shall be measured again.

¹⁴ ¶ Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but thy disciples do not fast?

¹⁸ For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a devil. ¹⁹ The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a gluttonous man and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified by her children.

⁹ ¶ And he spoke this parable unto some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and despised others:

³⁴ ¶ Then Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons;

⁴⁴ ¶ While Peter yet spoke these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who heard the word.

⁸ And God, who knows the hearts, bore them witness, giving them the Holy Spirit, even as he did unto us, ⁹ and put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

¹⁰ But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou belittle thy brother? for we shall all stand before the tribunal of the Christ.

²⁹ conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other, for why should my liberty be judged by another man’s conscience? ³⁰ For if I by grace am a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?

¹⁶ ¶ Let no one therefore judge you in food or in drink or in respect of a feast day or of the new moon or of the sabbath days, ¹⁷ which are a shadow of things to come, but the body is of the Christ.

²⁷ The habitation of God is eternal, and underneath the everlasting arms; he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee and shall say, Destroy them. ²⁸ Then Israel, the fountain of Jacob, shall dwell in safety alone in a land of grain and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew. ²⁹ Blessed art thou, O Israel, who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help and the sword of thy excellency? Thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee, and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

⁵ Sustain my steps in thy ways that my footsteps not slip.

¹⁷ For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the LORD upholds the righteous.

²⁴ Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

²⁸ For the LORD loves uprightness and does not forsake his merciful ones; they are preserved for ever, but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

¹¹⁶ ¶ Uphold me according unto thy word, and I shall live; and let me not be ashamed of my hope. ¹¹⁷ Hold me up, and I shall be saved, and I shall delight in thy statutes continually.

²⁹ He gives power to the faint; and to those that have no might he increases strength.

²⁸ and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall anyone pluck them out of my hand. ²⁹ My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all; and no one is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. ³⁰ I and my Father are one.

¹⁷ So then, if God gave them the same gift as he did unto us, who have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I should withstand God?

³¹ ¶ What shall we then say to these things? If God is for us, who shall be against us? ³² He that did not spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also give us all things with him? ³³ Who shall accuse the chosen of God’s? God is he that justifies them. ³⁴ Who is he that condemns them? Christ, Jesus, is he who died and, even more, he that also rose again, who furthermore is at the right hand of God, who also makes entreaty for us. ³⁵ Who shall separate us from the charity of Christ? shall tribulation or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or peril or sword? ³⁶ (As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.) ³⁷ Nevertheless, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. ³⁸ Therefore I am certain that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come ³⁹ nor height nor depth nor any creature shall be able to separate us from the charity of God, which is in Christ, Jesus our Lord.

²⁰ Rather, O man, who art thou to reply against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?

²³ And even them, if they do not continue in unbelief, shall be grafted in, for God is powerful enough to graft them in again.

³ Let not him that eats despise him that does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him that eats; for God has raised him up.

²⁵ ¶ Now to him that is able to confirm you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which was concealed from times eternal

⁴ For although I have nothing on my conscience, yet am I not hereby justified, but he that judges me is the Lord. ⁵ Therefore, judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each one have praise of God.

²⁵ Therefore he is able also to save to the uttermost those that come unto God by him, seeing he ever lives to make intercession for them.

¹¹ ¶ Murmur not against one another, brethren. He that speaks evil of his brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law; but if thou judge the law, thou art not a keeper of the law, but a judge. ¹² There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou to judge another?

⁵ who are kept in the virtue of God by faith, to attain unto the saving health which is made ready to be manifested in the last time.

²⁴ Now unto him that is powerful to keep you without sin and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

²³ And he that makes a difference is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat by faith; and whatsoever is not out of faith is sin.

⁹ But now, having known God, or rather being known of God, how do ye turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, in which ye desire again to be in slavery? ¹⁰ Ye observe days and months and times and years.

¹⁹ And in this we know that we are of the truth and have our hearts certified before him. ²⁰ ¶ And if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart and knows all things. ²¹ Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, then we have confidence in God;

¹⁴ And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it as a feast unto the LORD throughout your ages; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance forever.

⁴² It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this night should be observed unto the LORD by all the sons of Israel in their ages.

²⁵ And Moses said, Eat that today; for today is a sabbath unto the LORD; today ye shall not find it in the field.

⁵ Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast and an acceptable day to the LORD?

⁵ Speak unto all the people of the land and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me? ⁶ And when ye ate, and when ye drank, did ye not eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?

¹⁹ And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass and took the five loaves and the two fishes; and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

³⁶ And he took the seven loaves and the fishes and gave thanks and broke them and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

²⁸ ¶ Then they said unto him, What shall we do that we might work the works of God?

³⁰ For if I by grace am a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks? ³¹ Whether therefore ye eat or drink or whatever ye do, do everything for the glory of God.

¹⁰ Ye observe days and months and times and years.

³ they shall forbid to marry and shall command men to abstain from foods, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who are faithful and have known the truth. ⁴ For everything that God created is good, and nothing is to be refused, if it is received with thanksgiving, ⁵ for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

⁹ For to this end Christ both died and rose and revived: to thus exercise lordship over the dead as well as over the living.

¹⁹ What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom ye have of God, and that ye are not your own? ²⁰ For ye are bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

¹⁵ And that he died for all that those who live should not live from now on unto themselves, but unto him who died and rose again for them.

¹⁹ For through the law I am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. ²⁰ I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

²⁰ according to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life or by death. ²¹ ¶ For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain. ²² But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour, yet I do not know what to choose. ²³ For I am in a strait between the two, having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, which is far better: ²⁴ nevertheless, to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

¹⁰ who died for us, that whether we watch or sleep, we should live together with him.

¹⁴ who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto himself a people of his own, zealous of good works.

² so that now the time that remains in the flesh, he might live, not unto the lusts of men, but unto the will of God.

¹⁹ This he spoke, signifying by what death he should clarify God. And when he had spoken this, he said unto him, Follow me.

³⁶ For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep and was gathered unto his fathers and saw corruption;

²⁴ But none of these things move me, neither do I count my life dear unto myself, only that I might finish my course with joy and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

¹³ Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

²² whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come, all are yours; ²³ and ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.

²³ But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward, those that are Christ’s at his coming.

²⁰ according to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life or by death.

¹⁷ And even if I am poured out as an offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy and rejoice with you all.

³⁰ because for the work of the Christ he was near unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.

¹⁴ For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so those who sleep in Jesus will God also bring with him. ¹⁵ For this, we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not precede those who are asleep. ¹⁶ For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first; ¹⁷ then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord. ¹⁸ Therefore comfort one another with these words.

¹³ ¶ And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on; Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours, and their works do follow them.

¹⁰ ¶ With all this the LORD chose to bruise him; subjecting him to grief. When he shall have offered his soul for atonement, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the will of the LORD shall be prospered in his hand. ¹¹ He shall see of the travail of his soul and shall be satisfied. And by his knowledge shall my righteous slave justify many, for he shall bear their iniquities. ¹² Therefore I will divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil unto the strong because he has poured out his soul unto death, and he was numbered with the rebellious, having born the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

¹⁸ And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

²⁶ ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter (like this) into his glory?

²² For the Father judges no man but has committed all judgment unto the Son ²³ that everyone should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that does not honour the Son does not honour the Father who has sent him.

²⁷ and has also given him power and authority to execute judgment because he is the Son of man. ²⁸ Marvel not at this, for an hour shall come when all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, ²⁹ and those that have done good shall come forth unto the resurrection of life; but those that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment.

³⁶ The word which God sent unto the sons of Israel, preaching the gospel: peace by Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all),

⁴² And he commanded us to preach unto the people and to testify that it is he who is ordained of God to be the Judge of living and dead.

¹⁴ For the charity of the Christ constrains us because we judge thus: that if one died for all, then all are dead:

²⁰ which operated in the Christ, raising him from the dead and setting him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹ far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come, ²² And has put all things under his feet and gave him to be the head over all things to the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}, ²³ which is his body, and he is the fullness of her: who fills all things in everyone.

⁹ Therefore, God also has highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name, ¹⁰ that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things in earth and things under the earth, ¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is Lord in the glory of God the Father.

¹ ¶ I charge thee, therefore, before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead in his appearing and in his kingdom:

² with our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who having been offered joy, endured the cross {Gr. stauros – stake}, despising the shame and was seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

²¹ who by him do believe God, who raised him up from the dead and has given him glory: that your faith and hope might be in God.

⁵ the same shall give account to him that is ready to judge the living and the dead.

¹⁸ and he that lives and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen, and have the keys of Hades and of death.

⁸ ¶ And unto the angel of the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} of Smyrna write: These things, saith the first and the last, who was dead, and is alive:

¹⁴ For God shall bring every work to judgment with every secret thing, whether it is good or whether it is evil.

³¹ ¶ When the Son of man shall come in his glory and all the holy angels with him, then he shall sit upon the throne of his glory, ³² and before him shall be gathered all nations; and he shall separate them one from another as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats,

¹¹ And Herod with his court despised him and mocked him and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe and sent him again to Pilate.

²² For the Father judges no man but has committed all judgment unto the Son

¹¹ This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

³¹ because he has appointed a day, in which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he has ordained; of whom he has given assurance unto all men in that he has raised him from the dead.

¹⁶ in the day when God shall judge that which men have covered up, according to my gospel by Jesus, the Christ.

¹⁰ For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ that each one may receive according to that which they have done in the body, good or evil.

¹⁴ And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his saints ¹⁵ ¶ to execute judgment upon all and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have unfaithfully committed and of all the hard words which the unfaithful sinners have spoken against him.

¹¹ ¶ And I saw a great white throne and him that was seated upon it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and their place was not found. ¹² And I saw the dead, great and small, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened; which is the book of life; and the dead were judged by those things which were written in the books, according to their works. ¹³ And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and Hades delivered up the dead which were in them; and the judgment of each one was according to their works. ¹⁴ And Hades and death were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. ¹⁵ And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

²¹ But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.

²⁸ Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, according as ye have spoken in my ears, so will I do to you.

¹¹ Yea, all kings shall fall down before him; all Gentiles shall serve him.

²² Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no one else. ²³ I have sworn by myself; the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow; every tongue shall swear. ²⁴ And unto me he shall say, Surely in the LORD is the righteousness and the strength; until he shall come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed. ²⁵ In the LORD shall all the generation of Israel be justified and shall glory.

¹⁸ ¶ Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the LORD, thou shalt surely clothe thyself with them all, as with a garment of honour and shalt be girded by them as a bride.

²⁴ As I live, saith the LORD, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet upon my right hand, yet I would pluck thee from there;

¹¹ Therefore, as I live, said the Lord GOD, surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy contaminations and with all thine abominations, therefore I will also destroy thee; neither shall my eye forgive, neither will I have mercy.

⁹ Therefore as I live, said the LORD of the hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom and the sons of Ammon as Gomorrah, even a field of nettles and saltpits and a perpetual desolation; the remnant of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my Gentiles shall inherit them.

³² Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in the heavens.

⁹ that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

⁹ but that the Gentiles glorify God by mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess thee among the Gentiles and sing unto thy name.

¹⁵ Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.

⁷ ¶ For many deceivers are entered into the world, who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in flesh. This same is a deceiver and antichrist.

¹⁴ And the four animals said, Amen. And the twenty-four elders fell on their faces and worshipped him that lives for ever and ever.

⁹ Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth and walk in the ways of thine heart and in the sight of thine eyes; but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.

³⁶ But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

²⁷ For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he shall reward everyone according to their works.

²³ Therefore is the kingdom of the heavens likened unto a man who is king who would take account of his slaves. ²⁴ And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him who owed him ten thousand talents. ²⁵ But he not having wherewith to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife and children and all that he had, to make payment. ²⁶ The slave therefore fell down and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. ²⁷ Then the lord of that slave was moved with compassion and loosed him and forgave him the debt. ²⁸ But as the same slave was leaving, he found one of his fellowslaves who owed him a hundred denarius, and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me what thou owest. ²⁹ And his fellowslave fell down at his feet and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. ³⁰ And he would not, but went and cast him into prison until he should pay the debt. ³¹ So when his fellowslaves saw what was done, they were very grieved and came and declared unto their lord all that was done. ³² Then his lord, after he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked slave, I forgave thee all that debt because thou didst beseech me; ³³ was it not also expedient unto thee to have mercy on thy fellowslave even as I had mercy on thee? ³⁴ And his lord was wroth and delivered him to the tormentors until he should pay all that was due unto him. ³⁵ So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you unless from your hearts ye forgive every one his brother their trespasses.

² And he called him and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? Give an account of thy stewardship, for thou may no longer be steward.

⁵ For everyone shall bear his own burden.

¹⁴ Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God. I am the LORD.

¹⁴ However, because by this deed, thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme; the son that is born unto thee shall surely die.

¹⁴ And shall say, Clear away, clear away, level the way, take away the stumblingblocks out of the way of my people.

³ Son of man, these men have caused their uncleanness to come up over their heart and have established the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?

¹ ¶ Judge not, that ye be not judged.

²³ But he turned and said unto Peter, Remove thyself from before me, Satan; thou art an offence unto me, for thou dost not understand that which is of God, but that which is of men.

⁷ ¶ Woe unto the world because of offenses! For it must needs be that offenses come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!

⁵⁷ Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

³² Why? Because they followed it not by faith but, as it were, by the works (of the law); therefore, they stumbled on the stumblingstone; ³³ as it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock that will cause some to fall, and whosoever believes in him shall not be ashamed.

⁹ And David says, Let their table be turned into a snare and a net and a stumblingblock and a recompense unto them;

⁴ Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? By his own master he stands or falls; and if he falls, he shall be made to stand, for God is powerful to make him stand.

¹⁷ ¶ And I beseech you, brethren, mark those who cause dissensions and offences outside of the doctrine which ye have learned, and avoid them.

³² Be without offense, neither to the Jews nor to the Gentiles nor to the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} of God;

¹³ Judge in yourselves: is it honest that a woman pray unto God uncovered?

³ Giving no offense in anything, that the ministry not be blamed,

¹⁰ that ye may approve the best, that ye may be sincere and without offense until the day of Christ,

¹⁴ I desire therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, govern the house, giving no occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

⁴ Are ye not then judging in yourselves and are become judges of evil thoughts?

¹¹ ¶ Murmur not against one another, brethren. He that speaks evil of his brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law; but if thou judge the law, thou art not a keeper of the law, but a judge.

¹⁰ He that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him.

¹⁴ But I have a few things against thee because thou hast there those that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the sons of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols and to commit fornication.

¹⁴ But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. ¹⁵ And the voice spoke unto him again the second time, That which God has cleansed, do not call common.

²⁸ And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an abominable thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company or come unto one of another nation; but God has showed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

⁸ But I said, Not so, Lord, for nothing common or unclean has at any time entered into my mouth. ⁹ But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God has cleansed, do not call common.

² For one believes that he may eat all things; another, who is sick, eats vegetables.

²⁰ Because of food, do not destroy the work of God. All things indeed are clean, but it is evil for that man who eats with offense.

¹⁰ For if anyone sees thee who hast this knowledge sit at food in the idol’s temple, shall not the conscience of him who is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols?

²² Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and ye strengthen the hands of the wicked that he should not leave his wicked way, encouraging him:

¹⁰ Charity works no evil to a neighbour; therefore, charity is the fulfillment of the law.

² Let each one of us please his neighbour in that which is good, unto edification.

¹ ¶ Now as concerning things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but charity edifies.

¹¹ and through thy knowledge the weak brother shall perish, for whom Christ died. ¹² In this manner, therefore, sinning against the brethren and wounding their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.

¹ ¶ Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal.

⁴ ¶ Charity suffers long and is benign; charity envies not; charity does nothing without due reason, is not puffed up, ⁵ is not injurious, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil,

¹³ ¶ For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only do not use liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by charity serve one another.

² and walk in charity even as the Christ also has loved us and has given himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.

² fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same charity, unanimous, minding the one thing. ³ Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in humility let each esteem others better than themselves, ⁴ with each one not looking to their own things, but also to the things of others.

¹ ¶ But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who covertly shall bring in destructive sects and shall deny the Lord that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. ² and he is the reconciliation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

¹⁷ Not repaying anyone evil for evil; procuring that which is good not only in the sight of God, but even in the sight of all men.

²⁰ avoiding that anyone should blame us regarding this abundance which is ministered by us, ²¹ providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

²² Separate yourselves from all appearance of evil.

²⁴ And unto me he shall say, Surely in the LORD is the righteousness and the strength; until he shall come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.

¹² For ye shall go out with joy, and be returned with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

³ to order in Zion those that mourn, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

⁵ Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper and shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. ⁶ In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this shall be his name by which they shall call him, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

⁴⁴ And in the days of those kings the God of heaven shall raise up a kingdom which eternally shall never become corrupted, and this kingdom shall not be left to another people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are determined {Heb. Cut} upon thy people and upon thy holy city to finish the prevarication and to conclude the sin and to make reconciliation for iniquity and to bring in everlasting righteousness and seal the vision and the prophecy, and to anoint the Holy of Holies.

² and saying, Repent ye, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

³³ But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

¹⁵ ¶ And when one of those that sat at the table with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.

²⁰ ¶ And when he was asked of the Pharisees when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God does not come with observation; ²¹ neither shall they say, Behold it here! or, Behold it there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

³ Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a person be born again from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

⁵ Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Unless a man is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

³³ These things I have spoken unto you that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

³¹ Then the congregations {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} had rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria and were edified, walking in the fear of the Lord, and with the comfort of the Holy Spirit they were multiplied.

⁵² And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

¹ ¶ Justified therefore by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus, the Christ, ² by whom we also have access by faith into this grace in which we stand and glory in hope of the glory of the sons of God. ³ And not only this, but we even glory in the tribulations, knowing that the tribulation works patience; ⁴ and patience, experience; and experience, hope; ⁵ and the hope shall not be ashamed, because the love of God is poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us.

⁶ For the prudence of the flesh is death, but the prudence of the Spirit, life and peace,

¹⁵ For ye have not received the spirit of slavery to be in fear again, but ye have received the Spirit of adoption of sons, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. ¹⁶ For the same Spirit bears witness unto our spirit that we are sons of God,

¹³ ¶ And believing, the God of hope fills you with all joy and peace that ye may abound in hope by the virtue of the Holy Spirit.

³⁰ But of him ye are reborn in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,

²⁰ For the kingdom of God is not in words, but in virtue.

⁹ ¶ Know ye not that the unjust shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor effeminate nor homosexuals

⁸ But food does not make us more acceptable unto God; for neither if we eat are we the better, neither if we eat not are we the worse.

²¹ For he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. ²² But the fruit of the Spirit is this: Charity, joy, peace, tolerance, gentleness, goodness, faith,

¹ ¶ Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of charity, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

³ For we are the circumcision, who serve God in spirit and glory in Christ Jesus, having no confidence in the flesh.

⁹ ¶ and be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

⁴ Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, Rejoice.

⁷ And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

¹¹ strengthened with all might, according to the power of his glory unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness,

⁶ ¶ And ye were made imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word with much tribulation, with joy of the Holy Spirit:

¹² that ye would walk worthy of God, who has called you unto his kingdom and glory.

⁸ whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though at present ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory;

¹ ¶ Simon Peter, slave and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those that have obtained like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ:

⁷ If thou doest good, it shall certainly be accepted; and if thou doest not good, sin lies at the door. And his desire shall be unto thee, but thou must rule over him.

⁷ Go, eat thy bread with joy and drink thy wine with a joyful heart that thy works might be acceptable unto God.

³⁴ As the man who, taking a far journey, left his house and gave his estate to his slaves and to each one his responsibility and commanded the porter to watch.

²⁶ If anyone serves me, let them follow me; and where I am, there shall my servant be also; the one that serves me, will my Father honour.

³⁵ but in every nation he that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.

²² But now freed from sin and made slaves to God, ye have as your fruit sanctification and as the end, everlasting life.

¹ ¶ Therefore, I beseech you brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies in living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing unto God, which is your rational worship. ² And be not conformed to this age, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your soul that ye may experience what is that good and well pleasing and perfect will of God.

¹¹ not slothful in earnest care, but fervent in the Spirit, serving the Lord,

¹⁸ For they that are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly and by smooth words and blessings deceive the hearts of the simple.

²² For he that is called in the Lord, being a slave, is the Lord’s freeman; likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s slave.

² but remove from ourselves every hidden shameful thing, not walking in craftiness, nor adulterating the word of God, but in the manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

¹¹ Therefore being certain of that terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God, and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

⁴ But in all things showing ourselves as the ministers of God in much patience, in tribulations, in necessities, in distresses,

²¹ providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

¹⁵ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails any thing nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. ¹⁶ And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

¹⁸ But I have all and abound; I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.

²⁴ knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance, for ye serve the Lord Christ.

³ remembering without ceasing the work of your faith and labour and charity and of waiting with the hope of our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father, ⁴ being certain, beloved brethren, that you are chosen of God.

³ For this is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Saviour,

⁴ But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let those learn first to govern their house in piety and to recompense their parents, for this is honest and pleasing before God.

¹¹ ¶ For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, ¹² teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live temperately, righteously, and godly in this present world; ¹³ waiting for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ, ¹⁴ who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto himself a people of his own, zealous of good works.

¹⁸ But someone may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works; show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works. ¹⁹ Thou believest that God is one; thou doest well; the demons also believe and tremble. ²⁰ But, O vain man, dost thou desire to know that faith without works is dead? ²¹ Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar? ²² Dost thou not see how the faith worked together with his works, and the faith was complete by the works? ²³ And that the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness, and he was called the Friend of God. ²⁴ Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not only by faith. ²⁵ Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? ²⁶ For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

⁵ ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, well pleasing to God by Jesus, the Christ.

²⁰ For what glory is it if, when ye are buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is due to grace from God.

¹⁶ ¶ having a good conscience, so in that which they murmur against you as of evildoers, those that blaspheme your good conversation in the Christ may be confused.

¹⁴ Nun Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

¹ A Song of degrees of David. ¶ Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

⁹ Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God.

⁵⁰ Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltness, with what will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

¹⁸ If it can be done, as much as is possible on your part, live in peace with all men.

¹⁵ But if the unbelieving spouse separates, let them separate. The brother or the sister is not under slavery in such cases, but God has called us to peace.

³³ even as I please everyone in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

¹² Even so ye, forasmuch as ye desire the things of the Spirit, earnestly pursue excellence unto the edification of the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}. ¹³ Therefore, let him that speaks in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. ¹⁴ For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. ¹⁵ ¶ What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also; I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. ¹⁶ Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupies the place of the ignorant say, Amen, at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understands not what thou sayest? ¹⁷ For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

²⁶ ¶ How is it then, brothers? when ye come together, each one of you has a psalm, has doctrine, has tongues, has revelation, has interpretation. Let all things be done unto edification.

¹⁹ Again, do ye think that we excuse ourselves unto you? We speak before God in Christ, but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.

¹¹ ¶ For the rest, brethren, that ye may have joy, be perfected, have consolation, be of one mind, having peace; and the God of peace and charity shall be with you.

³ being diligent to guard the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. ⁴ There is one body and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling, ⁵ one Lord, one faith, one baptism, ⁶ one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all, and in you all. ⁷ But unto each one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of the Christ.

²⁹ Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good for edification, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

¹ ¶ Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of charity, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

¹² ¶ Clothed, therefore, (as the elect of God, holy and beloved) with bowels of mercies, with kindness, with humility, with meekness, with tolerance, ¹³ forbearing one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a quarrel against another: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. ¹⁴ And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfection. ¹⁵ And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, into which likewise ye are called into one body, and be ye thankful.

¹¹ ¶ Therefore comfort and edify one another, even as ye do. ¹² And we beseech you, brethren, to recognize those who labour among you and preside over you in the Lord and admonish you

⁴ nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which generate questions other than that the edification of God is by faith.

²² ¶ Flee also youthful lusts, but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with those that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

¹⁴ Follow peace with everyone and holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord:

¹³ ¶ Who is wise and ready among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works in meekness of wisdom. ¹⁴ But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, boast not and do not be liars against the truth. ¹⁵ This wisdom is not that which descends from above, but is earthly, natural, diabolical. ¹⁶ For where there is envy and contention, there is confusion and every perverse work. ¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, modest, benevolent, full of mercy and of good fruits, not judgmental, unfeigned. ¹⁸ And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace unto those that make peace.

¹¹ let him separate himself from evil and do good; let him seek peace and follow it.

¹¹ not that which goes into the mouth defiles the man; but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles the man.

⁶ But whosoever shall cause one of these little ones who believe in me to fall, it would be better for him that a millstone such as is turned by an ass be hanged about his neck and that he be sunk in the depth of the sea.

¹⁵ And the voice spoke unto him again the second time, That which God has cleansed, do not call common.

¹⁴ I know and trust in the Lord Jesus that for his sake there is nothing unclean, but to him that esteems any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. ¹⁵ But if thy brother is grieved because of thy food, now thou dost not walk in charity. Do not destroy him with thy food, for whom Christ died.

¹² ¶ All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient; all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. ¹³ Foods are for the belly, and the belly for foods; but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

³¹ Whether therefore ye eat or drink or whatever ye do, do everything for the glory of God. ³² Be without offense, neither to the Jews nor to the Gentiles nor to the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} of God; ³³ even as I please everyone in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

¹⁰ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has prepared that we should walk in them.

⁶ being confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ.

⁸ But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble in the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, said the LORD of the hosts.

⁷ ¶ Woe unto the world because of offenses! For it must needs be that offenses come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes! ⁸ Therefore if thy hand or thy foot cause thee to fall, cut them off and cast them from thee; it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into eternal fire. ⁹ And if thine eye causes thee to fall, pluck it out and cast it from thee; it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire. ¹⁰ Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in the heavens their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in the heavens.

¹ ¶ Then he said unto the disciples, It is impossible that offenses will not come, but woe unto the one through whom they come! ² It would be better for him if a millstone turned by an ass were placed around his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.

¹⁷ for the kingdom of God is not food and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

¹ ¶ We then that are stronger ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not please ourselves. ² Let each one of us please his neighbour in that which is good, unto edification.

¹³ Therefore, if food makes my brother to fall, I will never eat flesh nor do anything which may cause my brother to fall.

¹³ and make straight steps unto your feet, so that which is lame will not turn out of the way, but let it rather be healed.

¹⁶ And for this reason do I exercise myself to have always a conscience void of offense toward God and toward men.

¹⁵ For that which I do, I do not understand, and not even the good that I desire is what I do; but what I hate, that is what I do.

²⁴ O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

⁵ Also, some make a difference between one day and another; others esteem every day alike. Let each one be fully persuaded in his own soul.

¹² ¶ For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with carnal wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world and more abundantly towards you.

¹ ¶ Brethren, if anyone is overtaken in a fault, ye who are spiritual restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself lest thou also be tempted.

¹³ ¶ Who is wise and ready among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works in meekness of wisdom.

²¹ Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, then we have confidence in God;

² Whosoever therefore resists the power, resists the ordinance of God, and those that resist shall receive condemnation to themselves.

²⁹ For he that eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. ³⁰ For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. ³¹ For if we would examine ourselves, we should not be judged.

⁶ But without faith it is impossible to please God; for he that comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him.
