³ neither as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves ensamples to the flock.

⁹ For the LORD’S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.

¹² Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

² Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old, which thou hast redeemed to be the tribe of thine inheritance; [and] mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.

⁴ The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with rigour have ye ruled over them.

¹⁴ Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell solitarily, in the forest in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.

²⁵ But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. ²⁶ Not so shall it be among you: but whosoever would become great among you shall be your minister;

⁸ But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your teacher, and all ye are brethren. ⁹ And call no man your father on the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. ¹⁰ Neither be ye called masters: for one is your master, [even] the Christ.

⁴² And Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles lord it over them; and their great ones exercise authority over them. ⁴³ But it is not so among you: but whosoever would become great among you, shall be your minister: ⁴⁴ and whosoever would be first among you, shall be servant of all. ⁴⁵ For verily the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

²⁴ And there arose also a contention among them, which of them is accounted to be greatest. ²⁵ And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles have lordship over them; and they that have authority over them are called Benefactors. ²⁶ But ye [shall] not [be] so: but he that is the greater among you, let him become as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. ²⁷ For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am in the midst of you as he that serveth.

²⁸ Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in the which the Holy Ghost hath made you bishops, to feed the church of God, which he purchased with his own blood.

⁵ What then is Apollos? and what is Paul? Ministers through whom ye believed; and each as the Lord gave to him.

⁹ For we are God’s fellow-workers: ye are God’s husbandry, God’s building.

¹¹ Howbeit neither is the woman without the man, nor the man without the woman, in the Lord.

²⁴ Not that we have lordship over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.

⁵ For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.

¹⁷ Brethren, be ye imitators together of me, and mark them which so walk even as ye have us for an ensample.

⁹ The things which ye both learned and received and heard and saw in me, these things do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

⁵ how that our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and [in] much assurance; even as ye know what manner of men we shewed ourselves toward you for your sake. ⁶ And ye became imitators of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost;

⁹ not because we have not the right, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you, that ye should imitate us.

¹² Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an ensample to them that believe, in word, in manner of life, in love, in faith, in purity.

⁷ in all things shewing thyself an ensample of good works; in thy doctrine [shewing] uncorruptness, gravity,

⁹ But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for [God’s] own possession, that ye may shew forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

⁹ I wrote somewhat unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. ¹⁰ Therefore, if I come, I will bring to remembrance his works which he doeth, prating against us with wicked words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and them that would he forbiddeth, and casteth [them] out of the church.
