²² If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away the evil from Israel.

¹⁰ And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

²² and this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, and make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to fall away: and the woman shall say, Amen, Amen. ²³ And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall blot them out into the water of bitterness: ²⁴ and he shall make the woman drink the water of bitterness that causeth the curse: and the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her [and become] bitter. ²⁵ And the priest shall take the meal offering of jealousy out of the woman’s hand, and shall wave the meal offering before the LORD, and bring it unto the altar: ²⁶ and the priest shall take an handful of the meal offering, as the memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall make the woman drink the water. ²⁷ And when he hath made her drink the water, then it shall come to pass, if she be defiled, and have committed a trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her [and become] bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall fall away: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.

³⁸ And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will bring upon thee the blood of fury and jealousy.

⁴⁵ And righteous men, they shall judge them with the judgment of adulteresses, and with the judgment of women that shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands. ⁴⁶ For thus saith the Lord GOD: I will bring up an assembly against them, and will give them to be tossed to and fro and spoiled. ⁴⁷ And the assembly shall stone them with stones, and despatch them with their swords; they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.

⁴ they say unto him, Master, this woman hath been taken in adultery, in the very act. ⁵ Now in the law Moses commanded us to stone such: what then sayest thou of her?

⁴ [Let] marriage [be] had in honour among all, and [let] the bed [be] undefiled: for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
