³ And shall make him prudent in the feare of the Lord: for he shall not iudge after the sight of his eies, neither reproue by ye hearing of his eares.

⁷ But the Lord said vnto Samuel, Looke not on his countenance, nor on the height of his stature, because I haue refused him: for God seeth not as man seeth: for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord beholdeth the heart.

¹⁷ Therefore thine handmaid sayd, The word of my lord the King shall now be comfortable: for my lorde the King is euen as an Angel of God in hearing of good and bad: therefore the Lord thy God be with thee.

⁹ Giue therefore vnto thy seruant an vnderstanding heart, to iudge thy people, that I may discerne betweene good and bad: for who is able to iudge this thy mightie people?

²⁸ And all Israel heard the iudgement, which the King had iudged, and they feared the King: for they sawe that the wisedome of God was in him to doe iustice.

¹¹ Doeth not the eares discerne the words? and the mouth taste meate for it selfe?

³ For the eare tryeth the words, as the mouth tasteth meate.

⁵ Then shalt thou vnderstand the feare of the Lord, and finde the knowledge of God.

⁹ Then shalt thou vnderstand righteousnes, and iudgement, and equitie, and euery good path.

⁶ And there shall be stabilitie of thy times, strength, saluation, wisdome and knowledge: for the feare of the Lord shalbe his treasure.

⁵² And Iesus increased in wisedome, and stature, and in fauour with God and men.

²⁵ And had no neede that any should testifie of man: for he knewe what was in man.

²⁴ Iudge not according to the appearance, but iudge righteous iudgement.

¹⁵ Ye iudge after the flesh: I iudge no man. ¹⁶ And if I also iudge, my iudgement is true: for I am not alone, but I, and the Father, that sent mee.

¹³ Which things also we speake, not in the woordes which mans wisedome teacheth, but which the holy Ghost teacheth, comparing spirituall things with spirituall things. ¹⁴ But the naturall man perceiueth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishnesse vnto him: neither can hee knowe them, because they are spiritually discerned. ¹⁵ But hee that is spirituall, discerneth all things: yet he himselfe is iudged of no man.

³ As touching me, I passe very litle to be iudged of you, or of mans iudgement: no, I iudge not mine owne selfe. ⁴ For I know nothing by my selfe, yet am I not thereby iustified: but he that iudgeth me, is the Lord. ⁵ Therefore iudge nothing before the time, vntill the Lord come, who will lighten things that are hid in darkenesse, and make the counsels of the hearts manifest: and then shall euery man haue praise of God.

⁹ And this I pray, that your loue may abound, yet more and more in knowledge, and in all iudgement, ¹⁰ That ye may alowe those things which are best, that ye may be pure, and without offence vntill the day of Christ,

¹⁴ But strong meate belongeth to them that are of age, which through long custome haue their wits exercised, to discerne both good and euill.
