⁵ Lord, howe long wilt thou be angrie, for euer? shall thy gelousie burne like fire? ⁶ Powre out thy wrath vpon the heathen that haue not knowen thee, and vpon the kingdomes that haue not called vpon thy Name. ⁷ For they haue deuoured Iaakob and made his dwelling place desolate. ⁸ Remember not against vs the former iniquities, but make haste and let thy tender mercies preuent vs: for we are in great miserie. ⁹ Helpe vs, O God of our saluation, for the glorie of thy Name, and deliuer vs, and be mercifull vnto our sinnes for thy Names sake.

¹³ So wee thy people, and sheepe of thy pasture shall praise thee for euer: and from generation to generation we will set foorth thy praise.

²⁵ I, euen I am he that putteth away thine iniquities for mine owne sake, and will not remember thy sinnes.

¹⁷ For his wicked couetousnesse I am angry with him, and haue smitten him: I hid mee and was angry, yet he went away, and turned after the way of his owne heart.

¹⁰ And the sonnes of strangers shall builde vp thy walles, and their Kings shall minister vnto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my mercie I had compassion on thee.

¹⁹ We haue bene as they, ouer whome thou neuer barest rule, and vpon whom thy Name was not called.

¹² Goe and crie these woordes towarde the North and say, Thou disobedient Israel, returne, sayeth the Lord, and I will not let my wrath fall vpon you: for I am mercifull, sayeth the Lord, and I will not alway keepe mine anger.

²⁴ O Lord, correct mee, but with iudgement, not in thine anger, least thou bring mee to nothing.

²⁰ Wherefore doest thou forget vs for euer, and forsake vs so long time?

¹⁸ Who is a God like vnto thee, that taketh away iniquitie, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage! He reteineth not his wrath for euer, because mercie pleaseth him. ¹⁹ He will turne againe, and haue compassion vpon vs: he will subdue our iniquities, and cast all their sinnes into the bottome of the sea. ²⁰ Thou wilt perfourme thy trueth to Iaakob, and mercie to Abraham, as thou hast sworne vnto our fathers in olde time.

⁴ Though Edom say, wee are impouerished, but we will returne and build the desolate places, yet sayeth the Lord of hostes, they shall builde, but I will destroy it, and they shall call them, The border of wickednes, and the people, with whome the Lord is angrie for euer.

¹⁷ These are welles without water, and cloudes caried about with a tempest, to whome the blacke darkenes is reserued for euer.

¹⁰ And the deuill that deceiued them, was cast into a lake of fire and brimstone, where that beast and that false prophet are, and shall be tormented euen day and night for euermore.
